2014 RAM 1500 Complaints

The Power Steering (All electrical system) is intermittently failing and I believe is a huge safety issue. The dealerships claim my vehicle does not have a recall for such an issue, but when I google it seems to indicate that the Ram 2014 (13-19 models) were part of a recall for a potential issue with the electronic power steering (EPS) circuit card. which could lead to inconsistent steering and potentially a crash.

Stellantis/Ram for over 10 months now have claim that the ABS Module is under engineering review to me. The ABS Module controls the brake anti skid, sway control, cruise control and other systems. Since 3/2024 I've tried to replace this module but it's not in stock because of not being produced. It's a manufactured control item only. I was informed by Gator Dodge this has been a problem for almost a year now if not longer. Called Stellantis/Ram and was informed to go to a junk yard to get a replacement with no product control. Tried to exchange it for a new truck but the dealer does not want it on it"s lot because of no anti skid and other functions this module controls. If it's not safe enough for Ram to sale how can it be a safe vehicle on public road ways? To answer any questions, yes the truck has been inspect by Gator Ram and a certified independent mechanic. As a retired Airline Captain if this was a plane the FAA would have grounded it until the problems were address.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 MPH, the power steering malfunctioned, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. During the failure the message "Power Steering" was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who determined that the power steering module and steering rack were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Also, while operating the vehicle the brake pedal became spongy and extended to the floorboard while depressed causing the stopping distance to be extended. The contact stated that the failures had occurred after the battery was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 22,400.

Hello, I went and got my truck service at a car dealership for rear air bag shock not working properly (4times) ; futhermore, my power steering went out while driving...not knowing the steering is electronic

I was driving the vehicle and all of a sudden lost power steering control and had a steering wheel with explanation point on dashboard. Later found that these 2014 Ram 1500 are notorious for losing the electronic power steering. No recall associated with my VIN number. Cannot get it to dealer or mechanic yet.

I am having an intermittent loss of power to the power steering system while driving, which makes it difficult to maneuver. After further research, the ECM is said to be the culprit.

Powersteering failure and can be inspected upon request When i drove up the road i had my heatead mirror turned on and when i turned on my highbeam i lost my powersteering and almost drove of the road when it was turning. As soon i turn off the heated mirriors the powersteering starts to work again. I can reproduce this failure multiple times and no warning lamps or messages luckely no accident occured

Power steering malfunctioned and completely stopped working while driving down the road at 40 mph. Warning light came on. Significant effort required to drive it to a safe location to park.

I was driving down the road and the electronic powering steering went out with the service powering steering indicator turning on. The power steering will no longer function below 40 Fahrenheit and will only activate when it's warmer outside.
