I was on a 6 land highway, fast lane, when my dodge truck just stopped. I was almost hit and cause several accidents in trying to get to the shoulder of the road. I called a tow truck and again the driver and myself almost caused accidents in trying to get the truck loaded on the truck. I took it to a near by repair shot. They diagnosed the problem quickly. I then waited 6 weeks, yes 6 weeks for the crank position sensor to come in. That was back in April. Ever since then we have been trying to load the correct software because it still is not running right. This is dangerous. I also have an outstanding recall on this truck for the high pressure fuel pump. So that can go at anytime. What has happened to Dodge, I wish I never bought this truck.

I was driving my Ram 1500 along the road to my house when it slammed to a halt. Luckily I was not going to fast and I was able to push it into my driveway. The problem was that the magnetic strip on the tone wheel failed and it shut the engine off. At the time of failure, the part was not under recall so I had to pay for the parts and labor myself. A couple weeks ago I received a letter from Chrysler (FCA) that there is now an open recall for the tone wheel, (Recall 66A), but there are no parts yet available to fix it. However, it also says on the letter that if the part has already failed and if I have already paid to have it fixed that I am eligible for a reimbursement of expenses. I filled out the online form for reimbursement, however I was contacted by FCA and they stated that they will not be processing any reimbursements for Recall 66A at this time. I have attached my repair order and the recall notice from FCA with the instructions to apply for a reimbursement.

Uconnect 8.4 which controls a number of functions in the vehicle has a screen delamination problem which is causing functions to be selected turned on or off at random, including; radio stations changing, navigation points altered, keyless entry to be turned off/changed, auto headlight settings to be changed, heated seats and steering wheel turned on in July, windshield wiper settings to be changed. When traveling on the highway at posted speeds this is extremely distracting and dangerous because the focus of the driver is on the screen. What is most annoying is that the system cannot be turned off!!! I can't begin to imagine what might happen in an electric vehicle that has even more functions controlled via an input screen. Service technician at RAM looked at the vehicle and immediately identified the problem as screen delamination implying this was not a rare occurrence. RAM has informed me that the repair (replace the unit with a remanufactured one) will be approximately $2,500. Many people will simply not have this dangerous situation corrected. Every time I encounter a Chrysler vehicle I am concerned the driver may be distracted with a similar problem in their car and endangering other drivers. The internet is full of people experiencing the delamination problem in the Uconnect 8.4 system across vehicles in the Chrysler/Stellantis line up.

My uconnect infotainment unit is experiencing “ghost touching” . As I am driving at first the radio stations would change by themselves. They would go from xm to fm and etc. then my clock wouldn’t allow me to set the time. Now recently, as I’m driving, the unit is dialing numbers, reading text messages. It’s calling sos. The. My back up camera is on as I’m driving forward. Air conditioner going from high to low. I brought it into dodge and they told me it needs a new unit. I called ram and they said to bring it in to dodge and leave it there. They won’t let me. Ram told me to get a loaner but the dealership says they don’t have any. Ram also told me to get a rental but I don’t want to lay out $550-700 for a rental when I have no idea how long it will take for the part to come in. My truck is completely unable to be driven. I have had it parked with now car since August 1 when I came back from diagnostic . I am concerned that they will putting the same exact unit in there and it will happen again. I am clearly out of warranty. So as of right now I have no car, I have no idea when the part will be in and I do not the same exact unit put in the truck. It’s obviously a know issue but putting back the same unit is not going to fix the problem. They need to upgrade the entire unit like they put in the 2020s.
