2014 RAM 1500 Complaints

The antilock brake system module ($1200) is defective and has not been available for more than a year after contacting four dealerships in Alabama and Florida. The antilock brake system warning lights are on the left side of the dash. When the center warning comes up on the dash the truck feels like the rear end is about to lock up and fall off. All the dealers I contacted stated this is a known and long-term problem. I called dodge corporate (1-866-726-4636) and said the modules are being reengineered then manufactured and may be ordered by dealerships after October 16, 2024. They could not guarantee it would be available to order if not I was told to call corporate back, and they would try to find one. I have an appointment to take my vehicle to the dealership due to excessive back logs at all dealerships, The center warning center comes up moments before the backend is affected. The lights on the left side are always on. Currently there are no recalls.

ABS control module failed, is widespread problem in this generation vehicle and there is no available part for repair so my truck has no functioning ABS, this also disabled traction control creating an unsafe vehicle to drive. I was told by the dealership that I drove to since i couldn't get an answer by phone that they have not had the part for 2 yrs and expect to not have any supply anytime soon. I sent a msg to Stellantis that went unanswered and tried 3 seperate dealerships by phone but could not even get them to answer the phone.

I have a fault in the ABS Control Module. I have been waiting on a replacement part since September of 2023. The current part number for repair has been discontinued and it sounds like the ABS Control Module is under engineering review. When the fault is thrown it turns of traction control and does not allow the use of 4 wheel drive. I have serious safety concerns when driving my vehicle when the abs fault is thrown. If the part has been discontinued and it is under engineering review how has it not been recalled.

We had our vehicle serviced at the Olathe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram service center between the dates of May 26, 2024 through June 27th, 2024 on 3 separate occasions due to following. Received truck back on June 17th with a blown air suspension after confirming that the air suspension was filled firm when brought the truck in due to an email received for a recall and when driving the vehicle, the power steering kicked in due to the battery terminal not being secured properly (confirmed by AAA technician). No vehicle lights were turned on during this. Returned truck on June 25th, 2024, received truck on June 26th, 2024 where diesel gas was spewing from my truck sitting idol in my driveway after driving it straight home from the service center. Returned on June 27th, 2024 at 7:00 AM CST after being told by the Dodge technicians that I should've drove the truck to them and that diesel has a burning point of over 1,000 degrees. They towed my truck to the shop after I refused. Received my truck at 2:30 PM EST the same day for my road trip that had been scheduled for 6 months. On July 6th, 2024, when driving my truck 4 of the 5 lug nuts broke off completely in which the tire flew off of my truck and caused a singular car accident and damage to my vehicle. We could've been seriously injured due to where we were on the road. I had additional injury to my lower back during the accident incident. We had the vehicle inspected by the California local police department as well as the licensed technician who confirmed that this was negligence by the service center who serviced my truck less than 2 weeks prior. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the General Attorney due to not receiving any response from Dodge regarding this matter.

The electric power steering quit, lucky I was in driveway. There is a recall for 2013 - 2019 for this problem VB9/NHTSA 19E-077. Took my truck in and the dealer said no recall on my truck. I have the problem this should be fixed under the recall!

When I start the vehicle the power steering light comes on and stays on until the vehicle warms up. Once the vehicle is warm, the light goes off. Usually this light stays on for approximately 10 minutes. I can’t begin driving until the light goes off. It has not ever come on while driving

The Rack and Pinion module has gone out. The steering on the vehicle completely stopped working while driving the vehicle on the interstate.

My truck is a 2014 Ram 1500 Vin: [XXX] *NOTE: [This recall is for older models of Ram 1500] U04 / NHTSA 18V-160 Frame Bracket This recall should be related to Ram 1500 Gas Tank fuel tank straps on ,and corrosion to frame on 2009-2018 Dodge Ram.* The frame is rusted out that holds the bracket. Fuel tank is hanging off almost hitting the ground. VERY DANGEROUS... There is NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE YEAR AND MODEL. Thousands of people are online complaining of this same problem. So, much where the (BRACKETS) are sold out, and on back order. The frame now has to be welded with a support plate to attach to new brackets. A few months ago my truck displayed ABS, Traction Control and Emergency Brake lights all at once, as well as taking away my cruise control. It is incredibly difficult to keep control of the vehicle in rainy/wet conditions. No accident has happened fortunately but the other day my father had the same exact lights pop up in his truck with the same traction control issues in his 2015 RAM 1500. So today I went to a shop to get it checked out only to find out that the ABS module is bad and apparently it is an issue nationwide. There's a recall coming for younger models but none of the older models? This is a huge issue and the average consumer does not have $2,000 tucked away to get this issue resolved swiftly. ABS is crucial to maintaining safe highways during bad weather conditions and if Chrysler is not held accountable for installing faulty ABS modules then they will continue to release unsafe products and force consumers to spend thousands of dollars on a product that should not have been a problem on a 10 year old vehicle with only 100,000 miles.

My electric power steering is fixing to cause me to be in a major accident. This should not be happening as I have only had the vehicle two years now. I don't have the funds to fix it and it's my everyday driver. Dodge needs to fix this problem as it is a manufacturing default and it is on them. This has been happening for 19 months now
