My son was driving the truck when out of no where the power steering failed and he had to muscle the truck to the side of the road. After doing some research this is a common issue amongst other rams and so I contacted multiple dealerships within the area. Unfortunately they all said the same issue that happens on 2015+ trucks with the same steering system won’t apply to my truck.

W58/NHTSA 20V-475 repair failure. Crankshaft tone (reluctor) wheel delamination of magnetic material with loss of crankshaft position. Safety recall W58 completed 22 May 2023 (79K miles) with update to the powertrain control module software to maintain engine operation if the signal material is lost. On [XXX] truck had engine stall while in parking lot. I could have had accident endangering self and others if engine stall occurred on highway. Following repeated start attempts and an uncharacteristically long start, a "Service Electronic Throttle Control" message came on. I was able to drive the few miles home. I took truck to dealership for service. Service advisor said following diagnostics, that crankshaft tone wheel needs replacement and not covered by existing recall warranty. I was charged $2635.18 and lost use of vehicle for a week. Invoice states "Found missing segment from tone wheel". Fuel tank strap bracket has broken. Dealers and Ram customer service refuse to cover the repairs even though there is a technical service bulletin related to this issue. They state since my vehicle was originally from Canada the extended warranty is void.

I have been searching for a replacement ABS Control Module for my Ram truck for over a year to ensure the safety of my vehicle while stopping on the road. Stellantis has not provided their customers with safety replacement parts for their vehicles to keep them safe to drive on the roads. This puts me and others on the road at risk. My vehicle is available for inspection. This condition has been confirmed by multiple dealers and service centers. My truck's ABS warning lamps and messages have been present for over a year. To date I have found no supplier of replacement ABS modules for my 2014 Ram truck.

While traveling on a highway at a speed of around 55 MPH, I experienced an abrupt and complete failure of the electronic power steering system in my 2014 Ram 1500. The steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn, and I lost the usual responsiveness and control I have come to expect from my vehicle. This sudden loss of steering assistance occurred without any prior warning signs, such as unusual noises, dashboard alerts, or steering resistance. It was a frightening experience that compromised my safety and the safety of others on the road. The failure of the EPS system at such a high speed created an urgent safety hazard. The difficulty in steering made it challenging to maintain lane control and respond effectively to road conditions. This not only increased the risk of a collision but also made the vehicle highly unstable and difficult to maneuver. Had there been a sudden need to change lanes or avoid an obstacle, the consequences could have been dire. In addition to the immediate safety concerns, the situation has been further aggravated by the unavailability of repair parts. After the incident, I promptly contacted several authorized dealerships and repair centers to address the EPS issue. I was informed that the necessary parts for the repair are currently unavailable on a national level. This unavailability of parts has left my vehicle inoperable and has resulted in significant inconvenience and frustration. The inability to procure repair parts not only delays the resolution of this critical issue but also raises questions about the reliability and longevity of the EPS system in this model. It is concerning that a critical component of the steering system, essential for safe vehicle operation, is not readily accessible for repair or replacement.
