2014 RAM 1500 Complaints

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to be restarted. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Approximately 1 year ago, the factory air suspension system on my 2014 Ram 1500 Limited would cease to function, displaying an alert saying "Air Suspension Immediate Service Required", and the suspension system would drop down to the point that the truck suspension was riding on the bump-stops. I took the vehicle to a Dodge/Ram Dealership service center, where the suspension compressor and air distribution valving was replaced, costing of $5,000.00. Initially this cured the problem, but a few months later, the problem cropped up again. This issue has now progressed to the point that at about 30=45 minutes into driving, the same alert comes up on my dash display, with the same results.

Electronic power steering was intermittently failing, but is now fully inoperable. Steering is hard and the electronic power steering light is flashing on the dash.

The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) and 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issues. The failure mileage was unknown.
