2014 RAM 1500 Complaints

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) and 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle jerked, and the instrument panel gauges were fluctuating. The vehicle then lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's husband was unable to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that parts were not yet available. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owned a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH the vehicle crashed into a cement wall. During the crash, the vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was destroyed. The contact indicated that no air bags in the vehicle deployed during the crash. The driver sustained neck, back, left shoulder, and hip injuries which later required medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 139,000.

The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the cap was full of grease and failed to connect, and the sensors were loosened. The contact stated it seems like with having the four wheel drive in gauge, an the abs malfunctioning, it took out the transmission.

Leaky manifold with broken bolts replaced on passenger side by RAM dealer at my cost. Drivers side now needs replaced. RAM 1500 has 71,000 miles on it. The pickup has and had a ticking noise for at least a year before dealer discovered it during an oil change. I wasn’t aware it was due to the defective manifolds. This seems to be a common problem with RAMs. Concerned about breathing in noxious fumes.

I was driving 60mph and my power steering wheel stop working and a light on dashboard from steering power wheel came on, I could not steer, it was really difficult and dangerous to drive though traffic it was almost impossible to turn the vehicle. I am reading a recall for my car This recall applies to 2013-2019 Ram 1500 trucks equipped with electronic power steering (EPS). Some EPS gear assemblies may have been built with a contaminated circuit card assembly that may short circuit. A short in the control circuit components may result in an intermittent loss of power steering assist.

Purchased this vehicle new in 2014- after driving it today for about 20 miles it was parked for about two hours at work when I went to leave I noticed that my power steering wasn't working & a message came up on the dash board "Service Power Steering"- Never experienced this problem before or had any warning that something was wrong. Vehicle was almost impossible to turn, fortunately I was only about six miles from home. Very Scary

The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,500.

The fuel sensor keeps failing and I have to replace . This is the 3rd one and the dealer and or company knows that it is defective and will not recall. Everytime I get it repaired it costs me 1200.00 because you have to drop fuel tank to get to. The fuel pump and sensor causes the truck not to start and the fuel gauge will not work . Also the straps holding the fuel tank are suspect as well for coming loose and causing fire.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the Crankshaft Position Sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that another dealer had previously performed the recall repair on the vehicle; however, the dealer flashed the computer, but did not replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 257,000.

On August 9 2023 I was driving my ram and it just completely shut down. Had towed to dealership. It’s now been 2 months and no answer on when I will be getting my truck fixed. Still making payments on this thing and it’s just sitting and cost me money from sitting. I keep getting the run around from ram
