On my truck my ABS and traction control light came on as well as a message that say to service ABS system. The parts are on back order for a year now. This problem has surfaced on many Ram 2500's. I contacted the dealer and they don't have parts to fix if. When driving in wet conditions especially while towing a trailer the wheels lock up while breaking. I've been towing going down hill and have had to use a combination of engine breaking, downshifting and feathering the brakes to slow down. Chrysler Fiat should issue a recall on this issue since it happens to many Ram 2500. This started when I had only 38k miles on my truck. Chrysler fiat has issued a recall for the 2019+ trucks but not the 2014-2018 which have the same exact problem. I'm hoping you can help this matter.

Problem System: Antilock Brake System. ABS hydraulic control unit and ABS module were replaces due to dash warning lights "service antilock brake system." After aprox one year, the warning lights have started coming on intermittently. Sometimes the warning will activate and be consistent, and other times (usually in warmer, dry weather) the warning may occur once and go away for days or weeks. Sometimes it is constant for days. I paid over $1200 for my first repair and just received a similar quote to do it again. I know there have been many complaints about the RAM 2017 - 2018 ABS systems and I feel it's time the NHTSA pursue RAM and put some pressure on them to do something about this.

In August 2021 ABS brake light is on and on 8-26-2021 I paid Approximately $1000 to have the master cylinder replaced to correct the problem. In early 2023 the problem returned intermittently. I made appointment with Goofy's brake service. When I took the truck to Goofy's appointment they determined that the problem required a Dealer service department. Made appointment with Dealer for 09/29/23. Mileage was 82,851. Dealer determined that I needed the master cylinder replaced again. Problem was that they could not obtain the necessary repair part as the part was being redesigned due to frequent failure. I was not going to be covered by warrant as it was now over 2 years since the know defect master cylinder had been replaced. They were going to call me when the newly designed part was avail. Coat was going to be around $1000 again. It is now 6-25-2024. problem is still intermittent; Dealer has never called me for part replacement. Vehicle has over 88,000 mile now. When this error message occurs, I cannot use Cruise control. I am forced to drive with a known braking problem, and I must pay to replace part I have already paid to have replaced. If and when the improved part becomes available.

Truck is flashing on and off the ABS light flashes on and off constantly turning off cruise control. Found code for problem C0020-01 ABS pump motor control - general electrical failure. This poses a danger when driving for ABS system to sporadically fail while driving.

Brake error and traction control error on dash. It is available for inspection. Not sure if it is safe but we have not options. This started several years ago. We have looked at ordering parts and tried to make appointment at dealer but parts were out of stock. We have not ever taken it in to the dealer as this happened literally 2 weeks after our warranty expired. No one has inspected it. There were not any other warnings prior and the vehicle seems to function but it is annoying driving it as the warning goes off all the time. I know they recently recalled newer Dodge Rams for this same type of issue but seem to be refusing to recall the older models for those of us that have been waiting and hoping nothing safety wise happens. It is a well knows issue and there are class action suits in other states.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS and traction control warning lights illuminated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.

The “service antilock brake system” code is appearing for the 4th time. I only have 64k miles on this truck. The CDJR dealer in Angleton, Tx has replaced the module and pump 3 times. Now it’s back. I’m sure it’ll all need replacing, again.

Information screen on vehicle said "Service Anti Lock Braking System" the traction control and abs light come on and go out. The brakes seem to work fine. This started about May 20th of 2024 one time. This now June 16 2024 and it is happening very frequently. I have read that this is a common problem with this year and model truck. The vehicle hasn't been inspected at this date of writing.

ABS lights come on randomly and my cruise control and ABS fail while they are on. Dodge will not sell me the part to fix the issue even though it’s been a well known issue and even has a class action lawsuit filed. Part number they are regulating is 68347098AB. This is a major safe concern as my truck slid off the road this winter when this happened.
