2017 RAM 2500 Complaints

No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not yet taken to an independent mechanic or local dealer for diagnostic test or repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

While driving the “Service Electronic Braking System and ABS warning light came on. I had a shop run the diagnostics and the tester confirmed what the lights were showing.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with an ABS pump motor and a general electrical failure. The vehicle was not repaired due to backordered parts. Received code c0020-01 for ABS pump, this is the third time in under 50,000 miles. Complete loss of traction control and ABS braking. It’s a well known issue that dealerships are aware of. There are class action lawsuits about this. Please help.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated while jump starting another vehicle, the contact noticed that the oil dip stick was not secured. The contact pushed the dip stick back into place. On another occasion, the contact was having the battery changed and the oil dip stick was not secured again. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 95,000.

ABS pump electrical failure, repaired OCT.17/2020 by dealer. 11/20/2022 same problem. ABS light, traction control, and no Trailor brakes, or cruse. not sure what other problems exist.

Service Electronic Brake System and service Antilock Brake system light come on and off intermittently at random times. Some time on and off a few times faster then it can display the message. The Hydraulic Control Unit was replace one already. Reading online there are several 2017 and 2018 rams having this issue.

The ABS control module and the HCU has Failed twice on this truck resulting in loss of traction control, ABS and cruise control. The unit was replaced around 42,000 miles and then failed again at roughly 60,000 miles. Ram will not replace under warranty. the failure causes the abs and traction control light on the dash to come on and off constantly. it also shuts down cruise control. I believe it also causes excessive ware on the rear tires due to the traction control system not working properly. This is a major problem and judging by online repair forums there are many other people experiencing the same issues
