A 2018 3500 RAM WITH 31K MILES JUST EXPERIENCED TWO WARNINGS ON THE DASH. 1. SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKE SYSTEM 2. SERVICE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSED USING OBD BY MIDAS: BOTH ABS MODULE AND PUMP ARE GOING OUT. VEHICLE IS NOT CONSIDERED SAFE TO DRIVE. AREA IS BACKLOGGED FOR THESE PARTS (1000). THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS I'M TOLD THIS IS A CRONIC PROBLEM. COST TO REPAIR IS EXCEEDING $1800 NOT INCLUDING THE DIAGNOSIS. CALLED OUR LOCAL DODGE/RAM DEALER AND THEY SAID IT IS NOT ON ANY RECALL. WHY NOT? ITS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT NHTSA INITIATES SAFETY RECALLS WHEN VEHICLES ARE IN PERIL OF CRASHING DUE TO A FAILURE. WE MADE IT HOME BUT IF IT WENT COMPLETELY OUT, WE WOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS DISCUSSION.

Our 2018 RAM 3500 is factory equipped with Nexen LT235/80R tires. This Ram has 16023 miles on it. We pull a 36 foot 5th wheel RV, weighing approx 15K lbs. When coming home from a trip on July 16th 2022 at 7pm, on I75 south around Sidney Ohio, 15 miles from home. This is a 70 mph zone, when we got to 60 mph the entire cab and bed started shaking and vibrating to where it was hard to keep on the road. At this time we feared of being or causing an accident. We exited and visually inspected the Ram and unit, and visually looked to be fine, We continued home via back county roads at a 35mph speed as the fear was still within us from what we just experienced. On Monday July 18th 2022 I took the Ram to Tires Choice 1101 West Main Street Troy Ohio [XXX]. The tech and I took the Ram out and reproduced exactly what we experienced on July 16th, without the trailer hooked. After inspection while on the lift it was found that the belt was broken on the front passenger tire , and was told we were lucky this did blow hauling a 15k trailer. I replaced all 6 tires in fear that the other tires may also be faulty, and if fear of having or causing an accident to would result in serious injury or even death. After researching this particular Nexen tire I found SEVERAL negative and shocking reviews. THIS TIRE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND RECALLED FROM THE PUBLIC. Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Unsafe and very hesitant acceleration nearly causing accidents. Long lag time between pressing the accelerator and engine responding to throttle input.

Truck has 22000 miles ABS and traction control lights constantly coming on and off along with service electronic braking system warning. Kicks the cruise control off every time it pops up. The cause is the abs module which apparently is a very common issue on these trucks and costs over $1000 to repair

The ABS Anti lock lights came on and says check Electrical Brake System. Dealer said The ABS anti lock brake pump assembly was bad and it was on me to replace it. This is a big safety Issue to me. I got a 2018 3500 ram and paying big money for a truck and my safety, there should be a recall before some people get kill.

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 3500. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the contact observed that the check engine warning light was illuminated and the coolant temperature warning light was also illuminated. The contact pulled over safely and turned off the vehicle. The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the thermostat, coolant sensor, and air intake heater relay needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V798000 (Electrical System) however, neither the VIN nor the vehicle year was included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

ABS and Traction control pump system electrical failure. Went to a Dodge Dealer and had the system read due to light coming on and off. Originally started around 38,000 miles on the truck. A code came up C0020-01. ABS pump motor control electrical failure. Researched on the net. Seems to be a big issue from 2013 on up on trucks. Chaffing wires? Pump failure? Dealer said the ABS Pump could Possibly be bad. Wondering if there is a safety Recall or will have one. I have my truck scheduled for repair next week. Estimated cost of $700.00 according to service department.

Uconnect screen delamination causes phantom button pushing while driving down the road. This causes random buttons to be selected and for things to start happening while driving. Driving distracted is dangerous driving. It will randomly call people, including using the SOS functionality. Making non-emergency calls to the emergency line is unacceptable. Once while driving, it turned the radio on and my volume was cranked up. I almost crashed into the car next to me because it scared me half to death. This is a known issue from what I've been reading on RAM forums and almost always shows up outside of warranty. The manufacturer should be held accountable for this to prevent future wrecks, distracted driving, and unnecessary SOS phone calls.

The warning chirp occurred and the ABS and ESC lights came on the first two times. The incident happened so quickly I could not clearly determine which warning lights illuminated. On April 18 with just over 39,000 miles on the vehicle the chirping alarm and the ABS and ESC light illuminated. In addition two warnings appeared in the dash: "Service Antilock Brake System" and "Service Electronic Braking System." The warnings happened multiple times per minute in some cases. Other times the vehicle would go for many miles without the warning. Every time the warning chirp was heard the cruise control would disengage. I did not notice any problems with the brakes of the truck. In researching the issue I learned that many people are having this problem. I contacted Ram and they directed me to a dealer who diagnosed the C0020-01 fault code and that the hydraulic control unit (HCU) for the ABS system was defective. According the the TSB Ram has put out about the issue the ABS module could also be bad, but the first part of the repair it to replace the HCU and if the problem persists to then replace the ABS module. Ram apparently has an inconsistent level of support for owners experiencing this malfunction with some getting the repair done out of warranty, while others have to pay for the repair. Because it is brake related it seems this should be an item replaced as a safety issue, no matter what the mileage on the vehicle.
