  • 2023 STARCRAFT RV TT SUPER LITE MAXX
    - State College, PA

The contact owns a 2023 StarCraft RV Super Lite Maxx travel trailer. The contact stated that while towing the camper and driving 10 MPH, the freshwater tank underneath the trailer suddenly detached and fell onto the roadway. The water tank measures approximately 5 feet in length and weighed approximately 500 pounds when filled with water. The tank remained attached to the hoses and was not damaged. The contact pulled over and called an independent for assistance to reattach the tank. The technician determined that the screws holding the steel support straps of the tank were pulled out of the metal frame. The contact believed that the screws failed because they were not designed to support the weight of the water tank while filled. The technician replaced the screws with heavy-duty nuts and bolts. The RV was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,000.

    - South Bend, IN

The contact owns a 2016 StarCraft Travel Star RV. The contact stated that the RV was designed with a flaw in the flooring. • 2023 STARCRAFT RV TT AUTUMN RIDGE
    - Grants Pass, OR

Awning self deployed while underway. Canvas and housing ripped off landing in the road behind the vehicle. Arms were sticking out with no way of retracting as the power supply had been cut when the awning ripped off. We flagged down a passing truck whose driver had tools and helped us remove the arms. If we had been on a highway it would have caused a very bad accident. Situation was immediately reported to the dealer Blue Dog RV in Medford, Oregon.
