On Sunday, May 21, 2023 we were traveling e/b on Highway 40 in Albuquerque when an amber mil light and check engine light appeared on the dash followed with sluggish engine performance. We exited the highway (#175) and pulled over. SPN 94 FMI 17, SPN 157 FMI 18. After about 15 minutes and engine restart only the mil remained. We got back on the freeway and the event re-occurred. A mobile mechanic replaced the fuel filters and cleared the faults. We continued on. We exited the highway at Flying C Ranch (#234) and while exiting the event re-occurred. We spent the night in the parking lot and the following morning I called [XXX]. [XXX] told me that the codes were related to the fuel rails and that I needed to go to Cummins. I called Rocky Mountain Cummins and made a service appointment. Re-started the coach and only the mil remained. Upon traveling w/b 40, the event re-occurred and was able to make it to Clines Corner where we spent the night in their parking lot. Hoping to avoid a tow, the fuel filters were once again changed out. On Tuesday, May 23 we experienced a complete loss of power at the Wagon Wheel exit unable to make it off the Highway. We were towed to Rocky Mountain Cummins by [XXX] from Taverner's Tow. Rocky Mountain Cummins diagnosed the problem as a faulty fuel actuator and completed the repair on June 5. We left that afternoon and after passing mile marker #261, the same event re-occurred losing all engine power & no restart. We coasted to the shoulder where we remained during a rainstorm for 14 hours awaiting a tow. Rocky Mountain's "trouble shooter" diagnosed the problem as a "broken wire" near a connector and make the repair. On each of the events the same SPN & FMI fault codes. The following week I attended the [XXX] presentation at the [XXX] in Amana, Iowa. The [XXX] speaker said that an amber check engine light and mil light is not a cause for immediate concern and continued driving is fine until next fuel stop. The fuel filler line is chaffing the the chassis frame cut-out where it gets routed to the fuel tank (80 gallon tank). I contacted Tiffin and they sent me a bracket to secure the fuel line from the chassis. I inspected other 2018 Tiffin Open Road models (3 in my neighborhood (all different) and they all has the same issue. Over time the chaffing has the possibility to chaffing through the fuel line and start a possible fire. My generator is right next to the fuel tank and if running with with possible fuel vapors in the air could start a fire that would never be able to extinguish before the fire department could arrive.

RV Diesel Exhaust Fuel (DEF Head) Sensor failure. These failure rendered our RV drivability limited and us stranded at Cummins dealerships, once in 2019 and again in 2020. We have been full time RV'ers and rely on motorhome getting us from place to place. We were lucky to not have the engine derate while driving, but had to pull over on the freeway, there were no off ramps or rest stops for miles as multiple warning lights and codes flashed on the dash so we could call Tiffin to ask for help, what to do and where to go. We where able to get to a Cummins dealer to have it fixed. We were warned to drive slow and straight to the Cummins dealership before the engine derated. RV Diesel Exhaust Fuel Sensor failures have been occurring & re-occurring at an astronomical rate across the country, we firmly believe that RV's should be exempt from requiring DEF / DEF Sensors, period. Please do not wait until there is a FATALITY, OR POSSIBLE GREATER FATALITIES before making this change retroactive for all RV's nationally. The Cummins dealerships and Tiffin have the repair records. The error codes we received was SPM 3521 FMI 11 error code. Looking it up it is "After treatment 1 Diesel Exhaust Fluid Property". Also SPN 3364-9, ECM 1761-9, ECM 3031-9, SPN 3364-9 and ECM 3031-9 showed up.

The motorhome will go into Check Engine and Low DEF fluid mode with the proper level of fluid in the tank. Once it went into the Limp Mode with the Red Check Engine light coming on without any warning. I had to get the motorhome towed to a service center. After the service center performed work to clear the code, I was able to drive it for 40 mins before the Check Engine light came on again....

THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL FOR VALVE STEM STABILIZER,18V194. HOWEVER MY COACH IS NOT LISTED. I HAVE HAD TWO INSIDE FLAT TIRES GO FLAT BECAUSE THE STABILIZER DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE AND ALLOWS THE VALVE STEM TO RUB A WHOLE IN ITSELF BY ACTION AGAINST THE WHEEL.
