2025 TOYOTA SIENNA HYBRID Complaints

We were notified by Toyota that it was unsafe to transport our children in the second row seats in November 2025 and the vehicle was under a recall. This puts our children at risk. Given that Toyota has not indicated a solution date for this and the problem was discovered in October 2025 I believe the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for our vehicle in a timely manner and would like to officially log a complaint with NHTSA."

Hi, we purchased the Toyota Sienna in February 2025 for our family of 7. We received the notification in the app in October 2025 that there was a recall on the 2nd row seat welding. We freaked out since our kids use that row just about everyday. When we contacted Toyota, they hadn't even heard of the recall and we were the first to notify them. They said they would follow up but they didn't. We have asked them every time we brought the van in for service since the hatch was also faulty which they had to fix, we were at the dealership often. They said they would reach out when a remedy was determined. It is now February 2026, a year after our purchase date and we are very hesitant and weary of what to do. We again called and spoke to a Toyota rep and they told us to put the kids in the 3rd row. I am not sure how we can fit 5 bodies in the 3rd row when there are only 3 seats with seatbelts. Again, we told them we have 5 kids. We purchased this car for the family to take trips and to be together. We have two big trips coming up this spring and summer where the 2nd row will be utilized. We are unsure of how to proceed since the van was not cheap but it was a necessary purchase for our family of 7. We really don't want to learn this the hard way and do not want to put our children at risk but what other choice do we have when this is the only way we can all travel together. Toyota should have a remedy by now. Are they waiting for a death to occur? How many children will need to be injured for this recall to be taken seriously? Please advise. I love my children and their safety is our upmost concern. We keep the car use to local driving and avoid highway use. Again, this is not what we purchased this vehicle for.

vehicle has had an active recall since october of 2025. I was told by the dealership the recall made it unsafe to have people occupy the passenger seat as was confirmed by Toyota. I then asked to get a loaner car until the recall was remedied. That was denied. I am now asking for the lease to be terminated early due to me making payments on a vehicle that doesnt allow my children to be safe.

I am told not to drive the vehicle while putting anyone in the second row (it is a mini van and I have young kids). Still no fix available for almost 6 months - Paying interest on a vehicle I cannot safely drive is wrong.

Toyota issued a recall due to suspected second row seat welds failing in a crash on October 7, 2025, with Safety Recall Notice mailed beginning of December 2025, and has not offered a remedy. The suggestion of not having anyone sit in the second row for over four months now is absurd and warrants investigation. We purchased the van with needing the space to occupy 5+ passengers and are not able to have all passengers sit in the third row. Using third row is inconvenient for car seats and parents in their mid [XXX] . This is complete negligence by Toyota. Keeping the van on a dealer lot for months on end will be bad for batteries, brakes and rotors. With no timeline for a remedy and by doing a welding repair it may cause future issues with the van from rust prevention, electronics and etc. We noticed unusual vibrations from 2nd row seats both with car seats in place and with just grocery bags within the 1st week of driving the van back in July 2025. The second row seat rails have been improperly welded, and we have been told not to use the second row. The recall was issued in October 2025. There is no fix scheduled. We have a baby and a young child. This car is unsafe for them.
