2025 TOYOTA SIENNA HYBRID Complaints

RE: NHTSA Recall Number 25V668 Defective Unsafe 2025 Toyota Sienna 2nd row seat rails. I purchased a brand new 2025 TOYOTA Sienna Hybrid on May 20th, 2025 as a family vehicle to transport my grandchildren in their car safety seats. In July, Toyota discovered that the 2nd row seat rails were defective and posed a serious safety risk. Dealers were sent a DO NOT SELL notice on October 7th for the unsafe Siennas. I was not notified until December 12th that no one should occupy the 2nd row seats while the vehicle was in motion due to a serious safety risk, so my grandchildren were strapped into unsafe seats without our knowledge all that time. Since then, the vehicle has been unusable for its intended purpose due to this significant safety risk. I have been waiting for months for the vehicle to be fixed without any update of any kind from Toyota on when this will happen. I have called the Toyota Brand Engagement Center several times and they have had zero information to provide beyond that listed in the Interim Notice. This is completely Unacceptable. Toyota has continued to produce new 2025 Siennas and 2026 Siennas with corrected seat rails since July 25th 2025 without supplying any replacement seat rails to remedy the recall and end the hardship it has caused for the families affected. This needs to be addressed and Toyota needs to be compelled to put their pursuit of profit on hold and fix these vehicles NOW.

The contact stated that while attempting to adjust the position of the second-row seat forward or backwards, there was a lot of resistance, requiring an excessive amount of force to move the seat. Occasionally, the contact had to physically push the seat with their feet. The dealer was contacted and informed that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle remained with the dealer, awaiting parts for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue; however, the manufacturer failed to follow up on with the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.

I am reporting an unreasonable delay in the remedy for NHTSA Recall 25V-668 (Toyota Recall 25TA12). My 2025 Toyota Sienna has been subject to Interim Notice 25TB12 for approximately 170 days. Per Toyota’s official safety instructions, I have been directed to ensure that 'no one sit in or use a child restraint in any second-row seat while the vehicle is in motion.' Despite this recall being active since October 2025, Toyota has failed to provide the necessary replacement seat rails or a firm repair date. This defect involves structural weld failures that pose a high risk of seat detachment in a collision. By rendering the primary passenger area of this minivan unusable for nearly 6 months, the manufacturer has caused a substantial loss of utility and safety. I am requesting NHTSA investigate the lack of remedy availability and Toyota’s failure to support owners who cannot safely use the vehicle for its intended multi-passenger purpose.

The recall was issued back in October of 2025 for the second row seats. The seats welds may break in an accident and thus making the van unsafe for passengers in the second row. It is now March 26 and there is still no fix or timeframe for a fix. This issue put my family and anyone else who sat in the second row at severe risk of injury or worse if an accident occurred.

Our vehicle has been recalled since October of 2025 with no remedy in sight. Originally the remedy was set for December of 2025. It’s now almost April 2026 and we’re still unable to use our vehicle.

The manufacturer informed the contact that there was no time frame for when parts would become available. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Toyota has issued a recall for the 2025 Sienna Mini Vans: The subject vehicles contain second-row seats that are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. If these seats are occupied during certain high-speed collisions, the seat may lose structural integrity, increasing the risk of injury. This recall was initiated in October 2025, not notifying customers until December of 2025. I was riding around with my young children in these unsafe seats for two months before notified. The dealership is giving me a loaner but it is not large enough or adequete for my family. Toyota continues to list "remedy not yet available" when I go to check on the status. The problem has not been reproduced because they are just not to be sat it which in turn means, I cannot use the vehicle. My vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer or service center as there is no remedy. There wer not any warning lamps that appeared due to this issue.

We were notified by Toyota that it was unsafe to transport our children in the second row seats in November 2025 and the vehicle was under a recall. This puts our children at risk. A letter from NHTSA stated Toyota would have a remedy by 12/6. The manufacturer (Toyota) confirmed this recall. Given that Toyota has not indicated a solution date for this and the problem was discovered in October 2025 I believe the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for our vehicle in a timely manner and would like to officially log a complaint with NHTSA.
