The bike will no longer downshift reliably. This jeopardizes the rider because the inability to select a lower gear to slow the motorcycle using engine braking and when arriving at a traffic light or an intersection that requires a lower gear to pull out from a stop safely into traffic. This has not been verified yet by a professional but I have an appointment in a few days from now (on August 5, 2025) with a local Triumph dealer to inspect and correct the issue. After some internet research, this downshifting issue/gearbox failure appears to be common among certain Triumph Bonneville models manufactured after a certain date. The bike did not and does not provide any indication when the failure to downshift will occur. There are times when gear selection functions flawlessly but then unpredictably will occur again during the same ride.

Bike shut off electrically while traveling at highway speeds. Signal flashers and emergencies failed and there was no throttle response. Check engine light came on and traction control disabled light came on. Bike displayed an error code of P2138 and P2122. Bike was unable to be safely ridden after being shut down and restarted. The bike could be ridden after starting for a short time before the throttle cut out again and complete loss of power. Emergency flasher functionality was intermittent with each attempt at starting the engine again.

The front brakes have developed an issue. The brakes must be pumped twice in order to activate/apply pressure. Regular maintenance is always conducted at Redline Motorsports in Bismarck, ND. Pads have been replaced with brand new pads. Brakes have been bled multiple times. Fluid was replaced. Hoses and master cylinder were inspected. The problem resolves for 2-3 days after a bleed, but then returns. Again, all maintenance and repairs have been conducted at Redline Motorsports in Bismarck, ND.

I had been riding on a road for about 15 minutes at speeds ranging from 40-50 mph. As I came to a stop sign, I downshifted and used engine braking to assist the brakes in slowing down. After I downshifted from 3rd to 2nd gear, the engine quit and all dash lights illuminated. I pulled the clutch, pressed the starter button as I coasted, and the engine re-started. The engine ran fine before and after the incident. This happened at approximately 1,600 miles. This is the second time this happens under similar conditions: downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, and using engine braking. The first time it occurred, I was unable to restart the engine while coasting. I had to stop, turn the ignition off and on, and restart. This happened at approximately 800 miles. This seems to be a random occurrence. I have not been able to recreate it on purpose. I have not had the motorcycle inspected by the dealer for this issue, since it is not isolated to my motorcycle. Front brakes are spongy. I hear this is a common problem on these bikes but there is no recall out for them? I have even gone into a dealer to get a front brake bleed done, and the problem came back after a thousand miles or so. I even put high performance race fluid in there…. Feels unsafe to ride

The motorcycle cuts out when slowing down—engine just dies, but all the electrical stays on. This is a brand-new bike with only 500 miles on it. It happened while I was riding, and I suddenly had no power. Luckily, I was on the right side of the road and managed to coast to the shoulder safely, but it could’ve gone a lot worse. There were no prior warning lights. I scheduled an inspection, but the earliest appointment isn’t until later this month. In the meantime, I did some digging—this doesn’t seem like an isolated issue. A quick search shows a lot of riders are having the same problem. It’s not just a software bug—forums, independent sites, even YouTube videos are all showing the same failure.

The following motorcycle [XXX] was bought at Two Wheels World Dealer (Manufacturer dealer) on [XXX] located at 840 S Andrews Ave Pompano Beach, FL 33069. The motorcycle was delivery on my address at [XXX] on following saturday 01st of march 2025. The dealer never performed the Recall issued by the manufacturer "Safety Recall Action Notice SB 617 Issue 1 02/2024"issue on february 2024 ( one year before my purchase. The dealer also never mentioned such recall to me and exposed myself and others on the streets to risk of the failure of the parts associated with the recall. After almost a week using the motorcycle the Dealer contacted me and informed me that my motorcycle might be affected by the recall. The recall clearly states that "STOP DELIVERY OF AFFECTED MOTORCYCLES IMMEDIATELY." Altough this Dealer are not following the manufacturer instructions endangering the lifes of the public. The contact owns a 2023 Triumph Bonneville T120. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V785000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, there are no local dealers on the island to repair the recall. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine while starting the motorcycle. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100. Parts distribution disconnect.

Immobilizer warning light stays lit while riding. Bike sometimes takes 2-3 cycle to restart when warm. Occasionally bike has immediately cut off when downshifting for a complete stop from 2nd gear with clutch lever pulled in.
