Hi, 2021 Volvo S60 VIN: [XXX] License plate: [XXX] (PA) Title date 12/7/2021 (bought the Volvo new...) I have barely 11,000 miles on the clock and have already replaced 4 low profile tires owing to potholes in highways and other roads across the United States. I really, truly want to file this complaint. I'm not sure why Volvo included low profile tires in the size 235/40R19 on their S60 models. When I drive, I feel like a downhill skier gliding from left to right, dodging potholes... According to my dealership Keystone Volvo of Doylestown, [XXX] , selling low profile tyres is a thriving industry…. According to AAA Mobile Mechanics, low-profile tyres are more prone to tyre and rim damage since they have less air cushioning to withstand heavy impacts from potholes and uneven places on the road. Low-profile tires are also more sensitive to road damage. Blowouts and tire failure are actually more likely on pothole-infested roadways. Given the state of the US road network, I believe your organization or whoever is in charge should not provide a TYPE certification for cars built within the US or imported from other countries both equipped with low profile tires... Windshield wiper blade has failed. Previously repaired as part of recall on unsufficient torque on fastening nut. Prior repair has failed and now poses safety risk given low visibility

Previous issues with brakes, suspension, leaking sunroof, electrical and gauges. Vehicle became disabled due to defect with coolant system, smoke from engine compartment, towed to Monterery Volvo (dealership/service center identified issues with coolant leak present turbo & cooling Plastic pipe. Cruise control-Vacuum Pump: Found vacuum pump leaking oil. Estimated repair $5,414.38

The contact owns a 2016 Volvo XC90. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced high oil consumption. After adding oil to the engine, the message "Oil Level Low" was display within three weeks. Additionally, while operating the vehicle the message "low engine function" had displayed and the vehicle would not properly accelerate and was jerking. The contact also discovered puddles of water inside the rear trunk of the vehicle with electrical wires and components submerged in the water. The vehicle had experienced various electrical failures with the back-up camera malfunctioning. In addition, there was mold inside the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were contacted regarding the failures. The failure mileage was 75,000. The VIN was not included.

Twice within two weeks the car was shifted into reverse and the brake became unresponsive. The car started moving backward, but the brake was not depressible. On one occasion, the car was shifted into drive, which then allowed the brake to be fully depressed. On the other occasion, the brake was pushed repeatedly until the car finally allowed it to be fully depressed after a few seconds of rolling backward.

I was driving our vehicle on the highway and proceeded to exit on the ramp. As I was decelerating, the instrumentation started making electrical noises and then the center console and the entire navigation screen went black. They flickered then came back up briefly before shutting off a second time, then the entire car shut down. There was no power to anything. I then attempted to push the start button, and the car did not start the first time. I tried pushing the button a second time and the car started. I brough the car to the Volvo Dealership where we purchased the vehicle and they said the car was due for a major software upgrade. I thought this was ridiculous, but said ok. After a few hours, they said the car was completed and let me take it. I did not get 100 feet down the road and noticed my moon roof no longer worked. I brought the car right back, and the technicians got in my vehicle with me in it and attempted to re-calibrate the moon roof with no luck. It was at this point they gave me a courtesy vehicle and kept my car over the weekend until Monday afternoon when they called to sday they were finally able to re-calibrate. I am extrememly concerned about this incident, and did not like how the dealership brushed it off as normal! This is a serious issue, thank God my wife was not on the hoghway when the car shut down!!

At approximately 55,000 miles I started to experience intermittent heavy vibration at Highway speeds. According to the Volvo technical journal this is a known issue called the Ghost Shaker. There we no warning lamps or car messages that displayed while the shaking occurred. Typically, the car would shake when above 45 MPH, especially on interstate. While the Ghost Shaker is happening, it was very hard to control the vehicle and the only way to cease the shaking is to pull over and come to a complete stop. Sometimes this was not very safe, especially when you were on an interstate with limited shoulder space. This appears to be a known issue of Volvo, but since I was out of warranty, I had to cover the cost for the repair. I took my XC60 into an Independent Repair shop and a new Volvo Brand brake booster was installed. This appears to have rectified the situation and the shaking has stopped.

Received a notification from Volvo USA, acknowledging an excessive oil consumption problem with certain model from 2013 to 2016, our 2013 S60 being one of them. Apparently it is a known design problem relating to pistons/ring, which can potentially damage the engine. This notification stated that Volvo voluntarily extended the warranty to 8 years and 100,000 miles, which of course excluded our 2013 S60! How is it that Volvo can get away with this?? Should this not be a recall? There was a class action against Volvo on this specific problem, but was resolved outside of court. This means that a handful of owners got compensated, but there are a lot more of us out here, trying to figure what to do about this!!! Do we need to start another class action? The government should not let corporations like Volvo get away with this!!! Please do something about this! ??????

While driving on a highway the car went from drive into neutral all by itself and I could not put it into drive. Managed to get to a break down lane and turned car off and on. It started normally in drive, but that only lasted for 30 seconds when it went back into neutral. I was close to my exit and this happened multiple times - was in drive and it went into neutral on its own! Very dangerous. Car was picked up by Volvo assist and towed away last night. Car is 7 months old car with 3800 miles on it. It was towed to the dealer where it was purchased and we are waiting to hear something about cause/fix etc.

I've lost the ability to brake on several occasions. The brake pedal simply could not be pressed in. After taking it to the dealer for repair, the advisor could not articulate what the issue or fix was, but indicated that this is a known issue. These vehicles should not be on the road if that is the case.
