2016 VOLVO XC60- MT PLEASANT, SC
My vehicle sustained catastrophic, permanent engine failure while I was driving, in two-way city traffic. Cars backed up behind me, I had difficulty opening my door because of oncoming traffic, and eventually was able to push it (and get help pushing) to the intersection gas station. No warning lights appeared on my dashboard before, during or afterward. Independent service center reports no battery or alternator issue - engine is locked up. No idea why. The vehicle is out of warranty. I will have to pay to replace the engine myself, ~$7-8,000 in order to sell it at near KBB value. So disappointed in Volvo.

2016 VOLVO XC90- Bellevue, WA
for last 2 years, my 2016 xc90 has kept request to add oil every 1 or 2 month. In May, 2023, my car speed suddenly reduced the speed to 25 miles and the turtle sign popped up. It was very dangerous when I drove it on the highway, it was almost get hit by the car after me. After I sent to dealer, I was told that the the cylinder of the engine did not work. The engine light has been on and off many times. I sent my car to the dealer regularly for the maintenance

The infotainment system has locked up and has shut completely off while driving. When it shuts down (screen goes black) or glitches, the car actually loses power. Luckily it powered right back on but it was scary and could happen again and be much worse. The screen/ infotainment system has had this issue for awhile. We’ve even told Volvo of Tulsa about it when it was in for service but they said they couldn’t do anything about it because they couldn’t reproduce the issue. We have also had the brakes and rotors replaced twice at the dealership because they seem to be lemons or faulty. We are currently dealing with vibration once again (conveniently now the warranty is out).

Seal around the top of the windshield has failed and worn out. You are now able to press on the windshield and have it unseat from the car frame

2013 VOLVO C30- Morton Grove, IL
The adhesive that holds the windshield in place and seals it against the weather has degraded to the point where the windshield is barely being held in place and could blow out if the interior negative pressure exceeds the strength of the remaining adhesive. The glass pulls away from the frame when lightly pushed from the inside. Furthermore, there are various leaks that create a moldy environment and have damaged electrical switches--sunroof. We have contacted Volvo corporate and the local dealer and their contention is that the vehicle is out of warranty so they will not assist with the repair. 2023 VOLVO XC60- Baltimore, MD
After not driving for several months, both batteries in my 2023 XC 60 failed to function. Volvo replaced both batteries. Two weeks later, the car did not recognize the key. The dealer replaced the smaller battery for a second time and updated the software. At the moment, it still works.

My vehicle’s SOS, On Call safety functions no longer work. In addition my navigation system no longer works properly. In the event of an accident These key safety features would not be able to alert emergency services or locate my position. This is a direct result in a flawed vehicle modem that uses the 3G network not supported by cellular carriers. Volvo has a solution that would cost me $850 to remedy this safety design flaw. Volvo should fix this key safety issue as it puts my family at risk if we are involved in an accident

2021 VOLVO XC60- Nashville, TN
While driving, lost power very suddenly. A turtle comes across the dash. My vehicle wouldn’t start for roughly 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes, it starts up, but the check engine light is on. Nervous that my car isn’t safe to drive, I contact corporate Volvo, since there is NO information in the manual for what this means- they told me to contact my local. So I call them and they state it’s safe to drive and they could get me into the schedule 3 weeks out…. Then, I get to my appointment and they then tell me my brakes and rotators are completely shot at 42,000 miles.
