Passenger door keeps opening whether top up or down, mainly on highway driving. Very unsafe!

The contact owns a 2019 Volvo XC60 equipped with Pirelli tires, Tire line: Scorpion Zero, Tire size: 235/55/R19, DOT number: XB08V824219. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the passenger side rear tire experienced a blowout. The contact's child was nearby when the tire exploded but did not sustain any injuries. The dealer was made aware of the failure and was sending a tow truck to tow the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

"Volvo On Call Service Required" message shows up on the dash suddenly every 3-5 minutes, and the black message box itself is close to, and bigger than, the speedometer reading. It makes it difficult to monitor and maintain speed without distraction. At the same time, every 3-5 minutes, top of the center screen completely flashes with "message stored to Car Status app" to draw driver attention and causes a major distraction while driving.

I was driving the speed limit on the highway in my Volvo 2020 XC90 which was less than one year old. The vehicle lost acceleration power and then an engine performance light came on, then a check engine light. I pulled over immediately and my car engine caught fire under the hood. The entire front of vehicle was engulfed in flames within minutes. There were approximately 11k miles on the car and it had never been maintenanced or worked on in any way that would have caused an engine fire. It was clearly a fuel line fire and Volvo did not properly investigate. My insurance company said it was a fuel line fire but could not get information from the black box because it was destroyed. This car is incredibly unsafe and should be recalled. I have multiple videos and case files concerning this "thermal event". Volvo recalled this car in Europe because of this issue and says there are none in the USA.

The contact owns a 2008 Volvo XC70. The contact stated that while her husband was leaving a restaurant drive-thru, the vehicle lost motive power without warning while entering the main street. The driver was waiting for a tow truck to tow the vehicle from the scene. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V218000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. The VIN was unavailable.

We just purchased this 2016 Volvo XC90 last week from an out of town dealer and it suddenly sprung a major coolant leak this morning while driving and isn’t safely drivable without fire hazard as it’s getting so hot. This model was part of recall on coolant hoses, but is listed as having 0 pending recalls on the nhtsa website.

The problem started 2 years ago and has progressively become worse. The original windshield is leaking water, which drains down inside the A-pillar and windshield. Water also leaks into the air-bag in the A-pillar, and moisture may come in contact with the electronic parts in the dashboard, creating a safety issue and a potential fire hazard. Last year I contacted Tucson Volvo for help, and they referred me to JD Auto Glass (520-370-6599). The local dealer refused to take any responsibility for this safety defect. There have been heavy rains recently in Tucson, and water is dripping onto my lap while I am driving, and trying to wipe the dashboard dry. This causes a major distraction and obstructs my vision, since the water continuously runs down the inside of the windshield glass. Yesterday I contacted Tucson Volvo again, and they referred me to Tony's AutoGlass (520-889-2422). The Owner/Manager of Tony's AutoGlass informed me that leaking windshields are a very common problem with Volvos. I believe this is a very serious safety defect, and am seeking help from your office. The windshield is coming unglued at the top center and right . I am concerned that the windshield could come out on the highway, I plan to contact a windshield shop and see if they can repair it.

The plastic lenses that cover the headlights have fogged up in less than 4 years the lights are no longer bright enough to provide proper driving conditions at night. I spoke with volvo and they said that lenses are not covered even though the cat is still under warranty. This is very car but refuse to fix the problem. This is a major safety issue and I would hope that your department can help protect those that have this issue before someone gets hurt. I amino longe comfortable driving the car at night.

Distracting Dash warnings “POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE TEMPORARILY REDUCED”, auto parking warning come on while driving and engine pause during stops working intermittently. Wife refuses to drive vehicle due to warnings that involve steering issues.
