Blind Spot Monitor System never worked from the time of purchase of this vehicle, and yes it’s available for inspection. Eventually took it to the Winnebago Factory Service Center in Forest City Iowa to be fixed in August 2023. It worked after that for about 200 miles or until the first rain and then it stopped working. I put on my turn signal to move to the left lane and there was a car in my blind spot. No warning from the BSM. Very dangerous. No warning at all. If you look at the Facebook group “Winnebago Owners And Wannabes” do a search on Blind Spot Monitor. You will find many with the same issue.

Fresh water tank falling out from the bottom of the rv. If we did not notice it before continuing on our trip, it would have totally fallen onto the road putting our tow car and other drivers at serious risk. The tank was emptied and temporarily secured so we could return home. There were no warning messages prior to failure.

When at the Winnebago factory service center for other recalls and repairs, technicians found that the propane line going from the regulator at the tanks to the cooktop in the kitchen was worn and frayed, having rubbed against the rear tires for more than 15,000 miles. They said it was a safety hazard and had to replace the line and ensure it would no longer rub against the tires.

Winnebego Revel BMB44E 15B443122871; The Lithionics battery installation allows movement which has caused fraying of insulation on a wire and resulting in a spark and activation of the 250A circuit breaker. This is part of the Winnebego aftermarket build of the Mercedes Sprinter based camper van.

Sound bar mounting bolts broke while driving. The sound bar fell on my head while driving on the highway.

This motorhome is equipped with a Blind Spot Warning system. I've had the vehicle for one year. The system stopped working after 2 months and then was replaced on warranty. After 5 more months of use the system malfunctions again: it gives warnings and detects vehicles only on one (left) side of the vehicle.

This note relates to the Winnebago construction of the vehicle. The grey tank, which can hold up to 20 gallons of water, came out of its fitting under the chassis, as shown in one picture. As shown in another image, the grey tank support has come out of its fitting under the chassis. The final picture shows the lack of support provided by the thin and rusting support bar. We were lucky to have noticed the grey tank falling down while stopped. If this had fallen down at highway speeds, there's no telling what injuries and damages may have occurred. The support bar is simply too flimsy to support the weight of 20 gallons of water over time. Other vehicle owners have noticed similar issues with their grey tank coming loose and having to be re-secured. Our vehicle was inspected and repaired by a commercial truck repair company, report attached. The inspection revealed the support bar is too thin to support the grey tank and should be thicker steel. There was no warning and the only reason we knew there was an issue was because we walked far enough away from the vehicle to see there was a gap between the bottom of the vehicle and the grey tank.

System warns of Blind Spot Traffic when there are no vehicles present. When system activates during night driving in low illuminated conditions, it presents a safety hazard due to the bright indicators in the side rear view mirrors.

Our blind spot monitoring system failed after going through a rain storm in March 2023. The system no longer functions at all.

Our 2020 Sprinter (Winnebago Revel) currently has 13,212 miles on it. During our ownership we have experienced about(?) 12 failures of the Advanced Driver Assistance System, during our last trip of ˜1400 miles we experience this failure twice, both occurring while driving on a state highway while being passed in the opposite direction by on-coming traffic. This trip triggered a memory of at least one previous failure that also occurred while being passed in the opposite direction by on-coming traffic. When this failure happens the cruise control is immediately deactivated which requires the driver to take control of the vehicles speed, during my last trip a semi-truck was preparing to pass me and was very close behind my van, when my van quickly slowed down it appeared that the driver of the truck had to take evasive maneuvers to avoid an accident. When this failure happens two error messages are displayed on the instrument display behind the steering wheel, “Active Brake Assist Functions Limited see operator’s manual” and “Active distance assistance inoperative”. After this failure happens I have unsuccessfully attempted to correct the failure by performing the following: •>Turn off the van for 1 to 45 minutes. •>Cleaning all of the sensors in the front bumper, glass windshield & what may be a sensor in the front grille. •>Various combinations of steering wheel button pushes. •Searched the manual, Mercedes indicates that I should “Visit a qualified specialist workshop”. System functionality eventually returns indicating a message similar to “active distance assist now available” (I did not photograph this message). This can happen as soon as ˜45 minutes and as long as the next day. During dealer recall service I very loudly complained about this failure there was no written documentation that I had complained and no mention of any correction to address this problem.
