Ford Motor Company is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Taurus

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, and Lincoln MKS vehicles manufactured May 4, 2015, to May 23, 2015, Lincoln MKT vehicles manufactured May 4, 2015, to May 21, 2015, and 2015-2016 Ford Explorer vehicles manufactured May 4, 2015, to May 23, 2015. The affected vehicles have a parking brake that may not fully engage when applied. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 7,165 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, and Lincoln MKS vehicles manufactured May 4, 2015, to May 23, 2015, Lincoln MKT vehicles manufactured May 4, 2015, to May 21, 2015, and 2015-2016 Ford Explorer vehicles manufactured May 4, 2015, to May 23, 2015. The affected vehicles have a parking brake that may not fully engage when applied. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Consequeces:: If the parking brake does not fully engage and the transmission is left in a gear other than 'Park' while on a slope, the vehicle may roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will test the operation of the parking brake system, and if necessary, replace the parking brake control assembly, free of charge. The recall began on September 4, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15C07.

2015 FORD FLEX Complaints
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Flex. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention). The contact stated that while in reverse(R) on several occasions, the rear-view camera screen was black with the message "Contact Dealer" displayed. The contact stated that the home screen on the rear-view camera failed to turn on. The contact stated that on three occasions while in reverse(R), an individual was nearly struck by the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed that there was no current fix for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.;

ANOTHER WATER PUMP GONE BAD WELL BEFORE 150K MILES! OVER $2000 TO FIX!! I AM A BREAST CANCER PATIENT AND THIS IS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. HOW THE HECK CAN IT BE OVER 2K FOR A WATER PUMP??? THAT IS JUST UNBELIEVABLE!! HOW CAN FORD BE WELL AWARE OF A KNOWN ISSUE YET, NOT STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! 2015 LINCOLN MKS Complaints
LINCOLN IS CURRENTLY RECALLING 2015 CARS FOR REAR CAMERA FAILURES. MINE FAILED ON [XXX]. I AM [XXX] AND USE THE CAMERA FOR BACKING UP AND PARKING. MY MODEL IS NOT IN THE RECALL. I HAD THE REPAIRS DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR $857.00! ON THE REPAIR ORDER IT STATES; "CUSTOMER STATES THAT REAR CAMERA IS UPSIDE DOWN AND HAS NO COLOR AND SCREEN WILL GO BLACK." THIS IS EXACTLY THE REASON FOR THE RECALL #25V695. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY 2015 MKS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL , AND WOULD LIKE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIRS. 2015 LINCOLN MKT Complaints
Panoramic Ceiling exploded while driving. No one was around me nor was it in bad weather. My entire drive home the glass was falling into the liner and down the side of the car. The glass was dropping down on the liner and could have shattered all over the interior and the passengers had the liner not been closed. It could have also caused you to crash as it sounds like someone shot out a window when it happens. I was able to pull over alongside the road and check out the damages.;
2016 FORD EXPLORER Complaints
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V347000 (Structure); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle and the contact were informed that the B-pillar trim needed to be replaced. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available and that only half of the B-pillar trim could be replaced. The dealer stated that the remaining part needed to be provided by the manufacturer. The dealer informed the contact that parts might to available April of 2027. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.;
