2020 LEXUS RX- Clermont, FL
I live in the [XXX] area and have noticed a disturbing trend. Frequently, when driving at night, I come across cars that don't have any tail lights on. Usually these are tourists in rental cars, but not always. My wife was guilty of this also. The problem is that the dash lights come on separately from the head and tail lights, it wasn't always this way. If the headlight switch is not in auto, a driver might think the lights are on, because the both daytime running lights and the dash lights are on. This is a very unsafe situation. This problem is made worse when you get your car repaired or rent one because the one of the first things the mechanic or rental people do is put the light switch in off. There was even a incident on the TV show, On-Patrol Live, where the sheriff in [XXX] pulled someone over for no tail lights and had to instruct the driver how to put the switch back in auto. This problem has gone on for years and it is time to fix it. The fix shouldn't be too difficult, just make the dash lights only come on with the headlights. This way when it gets dark and there are no dash lights, the driver should know there is a problem and will turn the headlights on. 2025 KIA SPORTAGE- Huntsville , AL
VEHICLE: 2025 Kia Sportage X-Line VIN: 5XYK6CDF0SG319130 APPROXIMATE MILEAGE: 34,000 miles DATE OF INCIDENT: September 3, 2026 LOCATION OF INCIDENT: 6140 University Drive, Huntsville, Alabama 35806 COMPONENT: Steering / Motor-Driven Power Steering (MDPS) / Steering Column / Steering Shaft SAFETY ISSUE: Sudden loss of steering control immediately preceding a collision COMPLAINT I am reporting a serious steering-related safety incident involving my 2025 Kia Sportage X-Line, VIN 5XYK6CDF0SG319130. On September 3, 2026, at approximately 34,000 miles, I was operating my vehicle near 6140 University Drive, Huntsville, Alabama 35806, when the steering suddenly became locked/unresponsive immediately before a motor-vehicle collision. The steering malfunction occurred while the vehicle was being operated and immediately preceded the collision. I was unable to properly control the direction of the vehicle as intended. I believe the sudden loss of steering control may have caused or contributed to the collision. VEHICLE OPERATION IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE COLLISION Immediately before the collision: * The engine remained running. * The brakes remained operable. * No EPS or MDPS warning light appeared before the collision. * No EPS/MDPS warning message was observed before the collision. * A low tire-pressure warning did appear. * The steering became locked/unresponsive. * I was unable to maintain the intended steering control of the vehicle. * The vehicle subsequently collided. * After the collision, the steering wheel became operable again. The fact that the steering became operable again after the collision is significant because the malfunction was intermittent or temporary rather than a permanent inability of the steering wheel to move. I am not making a technical determination regarding which steering component failed. I am reporting the observed behavior and requesting that NHTSA investigate the cause. 2024 TOYOTA COROLLA CROSS- South Gate , CA
El auto tiembla como motor viejo asi como su sumbido de motor, las lunes de bolsa de pasa prendiendo, la asistencia de punto ciego en ocasiones no responde asi como para cambio de carril, camara trasera en estado de reversa en ocaciones no enciende o la imagen esta un poco distorsionada, la panta del tableta se apaga en ocaciones cuando auto esta ensendido corriendo en carretera..Cuando el auto en reversa en ocaciones brinca o tiembla como si lo moviera como un brinco.. En carretera a una velocidad más de 75 millas el auto empiesa a temblar.. El asiento de conductor cada comentó se baja solo de su nivel..

2015 JEEP WRANGLER- Tucson , AZ
I purchased this 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon new and have maintained and serviced it regularly. At approximately 75,000–80,000 miles, the engine began developing a ticking noise from the passenger/right cylinder head area. The problem progressively worsened. At approximately 100,000 miles, repairs were performed involving the right-side cylinder head and camshaft because of camshaft/valvetrain wear and a persistent cylinder #2 misfire. The right-side cylinder head/camshaft area has required repair more than once. Rocker arms were also replaced, but the underlying problem continued. The vehicle now has approximately 150,000 miles. The engine recently shut down and developed a loud mechanical noise. Upon inspection, significant wear/damage was again found involving the right-side exhaust camshaft/valvetrain, and there are concerns involving the timing chain/tensioning system. A failure of these components while driving could cause sudden engine shutdown or loss of power, creating a safety risk. The vehicle has also developed electrical/safety-related problems. The airbag warning light is illuminated, and the steering-wheel controls and steering-wheel illumination are not functioning. The vehicle was involved in an accident in 2019; however, the engine ticking condition was already present before that accident, although it was less noticeable at that time. Despite previous repairs, the engine/valvetrain problem has returned. I am reporting this because the repeated camshaft/valvetrain failure, persistent cylinder #2 issue, possible timing-system problem, and associated risk of engine shutdown appear abnormal and potentially safety-related for a regularly maintained vehicle.

2026 NISSAN SENTRA- Lexington, KY
I was driving on the highway at about 75 mph with the cruise control set and suddenly heard a small pop noise. The check engine light then began to flashing so I pulled over immediately I put the car in park and the car started smoking smoke was filling the cab through the air vents I didn’t even have time to pop the hood and check once I got out the car exploded and I do not exaggerate when I say it exploded the entire front end went boom and was engulfed in flames the car was brand new I just got it 3 months ago with 9 miles on the dash it only had 4k st the time of the incident. My safety was put at risk because I could have died and been burned alive other people would see smoke panic and still sit in the car i however deal with cars and know signs to check for and what type of smoke means what plus it explo Who’s to say one won’t explode while someone is driving! Had the roadway been filled with heavy traffic I wouldn’t have been able to pull over in time the car was engulfed within 30 seconds of the check engine light coming on and me getting out the car after parking. The car had yet to be inspected by insurance but it’s literally burned to the frame I don’t know what much they will be able to find. There was no warning of this happening whatsoever the car was driving perfectly fine with no issues up until it exploded. Not a single light ever came on in the car it never drove irregular or anything the car hasn’t even had its first oil change. Something definitely malfunctioned and is not safe in these cars

2023 TOYOTA TUNDRA- Kennewick, WA
The component that is failed/malfunctioning is the mode function of the HVAC blower system. After thorough online research this appears to be related to either the gear door actuator or the blend door being stuck or broken (gears, etc.). This prevents air from blowing out of any vents other than the defrost and feet modes. While it appears to be a common issue online the two Toyota dealerships will not provide any helpful information unless I agree to a minimum $250 diagnostic fee. I've replaced all the gear door actuators thus I believe it has to do with the blend door. The dealerships default response is "that's just how they are". There were no warnings, messages, etc. prior to failure. Failure was noticed upon start and longer than usual startup of the HVAC system, it now takes 30-60 seconds to attempt to calibrate before any air starts moving. And as stated earlier it just blows out of the defrost and foot functions, nothing out of the face vents.

Our 2017 edge with the 2.0 eco boost has been diagnosed with coolant intrusion into cylinder #2. Only repair is a new long block. It has 74000 miles.

2025 CHEVROLET BLAZER EV- LACEY, WA
While backing into parking at a Humble Cow ice cream place. My 2025 Chevy Blazer EV AWD slammed to a stop. I was going 4 mph my spouses head hit the head rest and caused severe pain and stress. We had to go to the emergency room for treatment. This has happened 6 other times 3 since having the required updates and replacement of modules that took several months to complete. She was given medication and lytocain patches for the trauma of her neck and head. She is now afraid to drive in my vehicle. I looked up the situation and found on Reddit and the internet that this is a known issue with Chevy and several other vehicles relating to their braking and eboost system. One work around is to turn off all of the sensors from the settings menu to include parking. It also said to not use the one pedal driving. This is unattainable for a brand new car that I paid Cash $45-$50,000 for and not to be able to use it as intended. Please look into this. I will be filing another complaint with the dealership on 14 September 2026. Something must be done.

2015 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT- Haverhill, MA
The gas tank shield on my 2015 Range Rover Sport appears to be severely rusted and corroded\. This shield is designed to support and protect the fuel tank, so significant corrosion could potentially compromise its structural integrity and create a safety concern if it is not repaired or replaced\. The shield also appears to be made from a material that is particularly susceptible to rust and corrosion\. Given its important role in supporting and protecting the fuel tank, I believe the condition of this component should be addressed promptly to prevent further deterioration and any potential safety issues\.

2026 TESLA MODEL Y- Broomfield, CO
This is an issue with Tesla's Full Self Driving (Supervised). The categories above don't match this capability. Sunday, XXX, about 6:05 PM. FSD (Supervised) version 14.3.9. Leaving In-N-Out Burger, [XXX], FSD chose to exit westbound onto [XXX]. A vehicle coming from the east had gone around the queue on my right and was westbound on [XXX]. FSD pulled forward so the nose entered that westbound lane in front of that car. I intervened with throttle and steering. No contact. Since I didn't honk there was no saved dashcam clip.
