  • GOODYEAR EXCELLENCE ROF TIRES
    - Albuquerque, NM

The tire developed a bubble in the sidewall. The tire is just over a year old and has less than 1,000 miles on it. All driving is on city roads/interstate. The car has not hit any potholes, curbs, or had any other damage. I am concerned because a review of numerous online comments report the exact same problem with this tire. If you Google "Goodyear Excellence ROF reviews", you will find dozens and dozens of similar comments about sidewall bubbles; many resulting in blowouts. Just as an example, the TireRack.com tire review by tire lists 61 reviews, and almost all mention sidewall bubbles; some happening on multiple tires. I called Goodyear, but their customer service was completely unresponsive. Tire size - P245/40 R19

    - Buckeye, AZ

Vehicle has 8000 miles on it. Tires were put on by Ford dealership. They are the Goodyear Wrangler territory at tires. They are considered a new tire that was created by Goodyear this year. The tires have not been taken off road. Tires have only been driven on pavement to and from carpool. The front passenger tire was taken in to discount tire to have the tire assessed of why it was losing air pressure constantly. The side wall that faces out, has A split on the sidewall. It does not appear to be a puncture. It is very small and could barely be seen. It looks to be dried and splitting. No curbs have been hit with that front tire. Another tire previously had been taken from the back end to the dealership to be looked at for losing air. Iraq had ripped the rubber between the tire tread and created a hole. Again tires were at 3000 miles at this point in February and had not been taken off road at this point either. Goodyear was contacted because the owners had to pay out of pocket to completely replace the tire and a good year paid half of the cost for a new tire as part of their bad luck new car owner program. The tires are supposed to be an upgrade and be all-terrain. They have not even been taken off road and have had and now two major incidences. The tires seem very weak and there are currently no recalls because they have only been on vehicles for a short period of time. We have not been able to find them in any place other than the dealership to replace the tire because they are still so new. They seem very weak and have 8000 miles on the vehicle currently and are struggling to not crack.

  • GOODYEAR WRANGLER SR-A TIRES
    - Gastonia, NC

Tire tread bulged from center line of tire tread to outside of tread approximately 1 ft long. I had been highway driving for about 4 hours at 70 mph. Truck started vibrating and was becoming worse. I pulled over and found bulge in tire. I took it about 5 miles to Matlock Tire in Lenior City Tn. But by this time the tread was cracking and separating. I was able to get a used tire to bring vehicle home. The service person at Matlock Tire advised me to replace all the tires. If one did it they probably all are bad.The tires have been very well cared for. They have 7/32 tread across all the tires. Very even ware. No dry rot. They had been rotated and inspected at McKenny Chevy in Gastonia NC aweek earlier. I had just come through the mountains on route 40 and if the tire had let go it could have been catastrophic. The DOT tire number is from one of the other tires on truck. Matlock Tire kept bad tire. Attachment is invoice for repair and picture of one of other tires on truck.

  • GOODYEAR FORTITUDE H/T TIRES
    - Morristown, NJ

The Good Year tires that I purchased are making a high speed vibration. I feel that my safety is at high risk when I am driving on the highway. I did seek help from a independent service center. They rebalanced the tires, and one tire was replaced under warranty. I paid $65.00 out of my pocket. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacture, etc. There were no warning lamps or messages.

  • GOODYEAR FORTERA HL TIRES
    - Melville , NY

I have 34,000 miles on my keep I am the original owner and my tires have been rotated every 5,000 miles. The tread is cracking on every tire. Tire size is 265/59/20 Fortera hl. I called Goodyear and they will do nothing they say rotting is only warranted for 4 years. How can that be? It’s a 60,000 mile tire. I brought it to Goodyear in Jericho N.Y and was told by Sean there is nothing he could do. I was also in touch with Pamela Pringle from customer support and she never got back to me. It is unsafe to drive on those tires and Goodyear should replace them.

  • GOODYEAR VIVA 2 TIRES
    - COSTA MESA, CA

TIRES. GOODYEAR VIVA 3 MODEL, SIZE 215/55R16 (AND MOST OTHER SIZES). THESE TIRES GO OUT OF ROUND AT EXCEPTIONALLY LOW MILEAGE. AN COMMON COMPLAINT AT WALMART (THE ONLY RETAILER THAT SELLS THIS MODEL) IS THAT THE TIRES GO OUT OF ROUND, PRODUCE UNBELIEVABLE NOISE, AND VIBRATION IN THE STEERING COLUMN. I HAVE EXPERIENCE BOTH THESE EFFECTS AS WELL, AND THE TIRES WERE INSTALLED ON A NEWLY (DAYS BEFORE) ALIGNED VEHICLE, AND HAVE LESS THAN 5,000 MILES ON THEM. SEE HTTPS://WWW.WALMART.COM/IP/GOODYEAR-VIVA-3-ALL-SEASON-215-55R16-93H-TIRE/42353801 FOR A LITANY OF THE ESSENTIALLY SAME COMPLAINT FROM HUNDREDS OF DRIVERS ON THE SAME MODEL OF TIRE. THESE TIRES SHOULD NOT BE ON THE ROAD, THEY ARE NOT SAFE. TIRES THAT GO OUT OF ROUND, AT LESS THAN 5,000 MILES, SOMETHING IS GOING ON THERE. (IN MY CASE, I HAVE ONLY TWO OF THE TIRES (ONE AXLE) BUT ONE IS OK (SO FAR), AND THE OTHER IS CLEARLY NOT. BUT WHEN I WENT AND READ THE REVIEWS, I FOUND OVER HALF THE COMPLAINTS WERE ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM (OUT OF ROUND, AND MASSIVE VIBRATION AND NOISE). THE OTHER HALF OF THE COMPLAINTS ON LOW MILEAGE LIFESPANS. BUT THE TIRES GOING OUT OF ROUND, AND CAUSING VIBRATION IN HUGE NUMBERS OF VEHICLES, THAT IS SOMETHING NHTSA NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE. HENCE MY COMPLAINT. I WILL SOON BE REPLACING THESE TIRES ON MY VEHICLE, I DON'T THINK THEY ARE SAFE TO DRIVE ON.
