I was driving on a very busy tollhighway and my gas gauge showed 3/4 of a tank left.all of a sudden while driving at 70 mph ,the car began to stall rapidly and the engine shut down.i was stuck in the far right lane of the highway which was I think 5 lanes.i couldn't roll or budge the car and had to pay for a flatbed haul to my apartment where a mechanic confirmed it was out of fuel.its happened again 3 weeks later at a 5 way intersection heavy congested on a Saturday which again caused me to pay a flatbed haul home.this is the same problem described in the recall that apparently my car isn't a part of.it cost me over 550.00 dollars and alot of stress to have it towed and it has less than 45,000 miles.also my sunroof is stuck half open half closed.it worked 2 times and then it stopped working leaving me to have a bad glare at certain times of the day from the direct sunlight.ive tried having dealership fix it but they claimed they had no time and I needed to schedule another visit.ughhh

The rearview camera system stopped functioning on about 2/29/2024. At around the same time, the front proximity sensor began to intermittently falsely indicate an object in the vehicle's path when there is no object, including when the vehicle is traveling at speed in the roadway with no other vehicles around. To date, this has not caused the vehicle to brake improperly. We purchased the car approximately three months ago. It is still under the manufacturer's original warranty. Note, the rear camera has been required by law since May 2018. The vehicle has a service appointment scheduled to resolve the problems. We anticipate that the camera issue and front proximity sensor problem will be resolved under warranty; however, the purpose of this complaint was to document the onset of the issues should the manufacturer fail their legal obligations under applicable state and federal laws. I was on the highway ramp picking up speed, and the car suddenly started to loose thottle. I pulled over to the side and the car went limp. The car shut off. I attempted to turn on the vehicle and it would not. The car was taken to an Alfa Romeo dealership and they confirmed that the fuel pump and fuel pump relay are both the cause for the vehicle not gaining any power and not remaining on. The car is still with the mechanics.

I have had several incidents with my Alfa Romero Stelvio losing power while driving, This problem has been going on for quite some time, i have had several parts changed out with the same results a few weeks or months later. I took the vehicle to Jim Ellis Alfa Romero for repairs and told them the vehicle was losing power while driving and was told that this problem has occurred on several Stelvios. I left my car with Jim Ellis and a few days later I was told all was good. I didn’t even get a mile away before I loss power again. I brought it back to Jim Ellis and left it again and a few hours later they called and said that the Stelvio needed a new turbocharger that would be $4000 plus installation fees. How is this possible if you told me you had taken care of the issue, and the car didn't even make it a mile.

The contact owns a 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The contact stated the vehicle lost functionality with the radio and the phone control. The contact stated that the front wipers became inoperable. The START/STOP function was also inoperable. The contact also stated that the heating and air condition controls and the backup camera were inoperable. The contact became aware that water was pooling inside the bottom of the liftgate while opened. The Auto START/STOP indicator light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The contact was informed that the backup camera connections and the electrical wiring harnesses were corroded. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V203000 (Structure) as a possible solution; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,293.

Service Engine" and "Service Electronic Throttle" lights came on. The car/engine started shaking/stuttering pretty violently, so I quickly turned off the car. I waited about 2 minutes and started the car again, and same thing. I waited another 10-15 minutes to start the car again. This time, the car started fine without "Service Electronic Throttle" light, but "Service Engine" light was still on and the drive mode was stuck on N

Please see the following reoccurring problems with the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Auto on/off failure has failed 3 times resulting in the check engine light coming on and the vehicle citing service engine. Additionally, the DNA selector doesn’t work when this occurs. The vehicle has been inspected by Southern Alfa Romeo of Norfolk. However, the system reset itself before they inspected. As such they found no evidence of failure. However, within a week the system is back in fault mode rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive. I’ve noticed on several blogs that others owners are having the same problems with no relief from their service provider. Request a NHTSA review of this problem with a solution for correction. The implementation of Intelligent Battery System (IBS) in the vehicle causes a constant state of undercharged battery even when the vehicle is driven daily. Due to undercharged battery, several safety components, such as heated exterior mirrors and rear window defroster do not work, which creates a safety issue. This is a widely reported problem by owners on Alfa Romeo forums. No warning lamps or messages illuminate to alert that the battery charge status is not adequate. I have recently experienced this issue, my rear window defroster stopped working and I wasn't able to see through the rear window. Recharging the battery will make the window defroster work for a while again.

I have now learned the hard way that there is a design defect with this car. It appears that water runs down the front cowl into an area near the fresh air intake. Particularly bad if you have the car running as it goes through a car wash, or if snow accumulates on the windshield and melts. Water is then sucked into the air intake and leaks into the passenger side footwell and gets into the electronics (including the area where the body control module is kept). Many owners have reported this issue on forums. Alfa Romeo needs to correct their design and should fix every Giulia that they have produced. Loss of electrical power or control of car can cause an accident or impact safety features.

Automatic emergency braking randomly engaged braking the vehicle while traveling 75 miles per hour on an interstate highway. I had moved into the left lane to pass a semi. I moved over with plenty of space between me and the semi and was next to the semi cab when my vehicle started beeping, flashing BRAKE on the dash, and then started to brake hard. I was able to slam my foot on the gas pedal and override the braking. There were no vehicles in front of me on the road for quite a distance. Luckily there was no car behind me to rear end me and I did not lose control and swerve into the median on my left or into the semi on my right. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership, who was not able to find any issue. I have also logged a case with Alfa Romeo support (case number can be provided if needed). Alfa Romeo customer support was not helpful in any way and has closed my case with no resolution to the issue. I feel this is a major safety issue and I am afraid to drive my vehicle at higher speeds for fear it will autonomously brake for no reason and cause an accident.
