The contact owns a 2021 Audi A5. The contact stated while the driving 35 MPH, the instrument panel was blinking on and off several times and then went dark. A local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired; however, the dealer was waiting for the parts to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 56,795.

The MMI randomly restarts, starting in March of 2025. This includes when you are reversing, and there is no camera mid-reverse, along with a complete screen shut down. There will be a clicking sound, then a restart on the MMI at any point, typically multiple times while driving. Then it will log you out, have multiple pop-ups, and say technical error at times (then reboot again). It is available for inspection, yes. The highest risk and safety hazard is mid-reversing anywhere (grocery parking lots, garages with cement columns, humans walking behind). It is also quite distracting while driving. My specific dealership didn’t fully test drive the car to recreate it and came back inconclusive, but many others are having this issue occurring at the same time with dealerships reproducing it. By Audi, it has been looked at. There were no warning signs, symptoms, or messages prior to this occurring in March of this year. The contact owns a 2014 Audi Q7. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was an abnormally strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with fuel filter flange failure. The contact was informed that the fuel filter flange needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V298000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the recall repair had been performed in December 2017. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

My vehicle spontaneously began displaying emergency signals including engine malfunction, turn signal malfunction, parking brake malfunction, brake light malfunction. I would also turn the car completely off and brake lights would remain on asymetrically. Also, the related alert bells would go off intermittently. I have kept my car in good repair and on a regular maintanence schedule. I took the car first to my mechanic who evaluated and said I should take to the Audi dealership. After two days of diagnosis, they came back that the sunroof drains were clogged with debris which definitively caused water to enter and soak the "comfort module" After irrigating them, they did not find any damage and said they do not need replacement. However, the water soaked and heavily corroded the comfort module and say the entire module needs to be replaced along with a rebuild of the harness. They are quoting me $12,300. My safety was at risk in the malfunction of the engine system, and especially signalling capabilities and possible brake impact. The problem has been confirmed by two mechanics - mine and Audi I searched online and have discovered a number of other 2018 Audi Q5 owner accounts of the same and similar defect and result. I have a 2019 Audi eTron. The worse incident was when on the freeway, I had a warning signal then thankfully, I exited and was on feeder when he was completely stopped, towed to dealership and was told a major component engine equivalent or battery had to be repaired or replaced. There are records at Audi dominion. Regarding current complaint, I have reached out to Audi for maybe two l+ years? Trying to get safety recall for high voltage battery but they kept saying they have not received software part to remedy this.

The rear wiper hose is consistently getting completely clogged so that no fluid comes out when the spray mechanism is engaged. The dealership has replaced it for a fee two or three times. At the last service they told us they cleaned it and did not charge a fee. However, within two months it was clogged again. I have noticed that the issue is more likely to occur after (intentionally or accidentally) using the rear window defroster. I am therefore wondering whether the hose is made of a plastic that is too soft, causing it to change shape as a response to the defroster heat.

The Audi MMI system which is there in car infotainment and system management main frame. Has developed a habit of totally going blank, causing loss of phone connectivity, navigation continuity, as well as use of all of the manufacturer supplied safety systems. The system reboots itself, the driver must then struggle to regain navigation, phone connection etc generally at speed. The failures happen very sporadically, as much as 10x on a 7 mile drive and then not at all on the next drive. In an age where holding your phone while operating is illegal it is a very disturbing problem. The Audi fix is a software upgrade, at owners expense, ($458.00)that so far has eaten up 9 hours of my time and is still not done. I have had to upgrade systems like this in other vehicles I own and I am able to accomplish this on my own garage. How long before someone hurts someone critically while they are trying to get their system to reconnect and are not able to pay attention to their surroundings. I feel a system such as this should be better warranted when you consider the amount of components it controls.

The issue is related to Audi TSB 2048402/3. 2017 Audi Q7 3.0T. First the an engine light appears, then get Drive System Malfunction Warning appears, then car misfires, then car goes into limp mode causing the car to rapidly slow down (while driving on a highway!!!!!). This is is common issue on the 2017 Audi Q7, code is P05A000 Active Grill Shutter "A" Stuck on. Which then triggers the Drive System Malfunction, misfire, and limp mode. Audi will not repair due to mileage on vehicle. Concern is this is a know issue and a safety concern.

For recall 21V198-69BY, I took my car to Audi of Birmingham on recall. They provided me a service form to show the repair had been made, but my passenger side air bag off light is still on because they didn't make the repair. It wasn't brought to my attention until I took my car for another repair job and the didn't make that repair, either.

The infotainment screen (MMI) responsible for Rear camera, Cross traffic alert, Entertainment and controls some crucial vehicle functions tends to shut off by itself while driving. This issue occurs constantly and It's very sporadic. Nothing triggers this just the car decides to do it on it's own. This causes me to lose visuals of my surrounding, and sensor information and the ability to listen to Maps and music. Raises a major safety concern.
