On 12/1, around 7:20am my fiancé and I were getting ready to leave for work; there was frost on the car so my fiancé went out to start it and turn on the defrosters. After starting the car, he turned on the heater and front and rear defrosters, he then went inside to retrieve some items we needed to load into the car. He was inside for about 5 minutes before coming out to see smoke emanating from right side of the trunk, which quickly turned into a small fire, whose point of origin was the rear fuse compartment. He ran inside to grab water to try and put it out, but due to how quickly it was spreading, as well as the fact that it was electrical nature, the water only served to temporary diminish but not extinguish the flames. We then used an ABC rated fire extinguisher from our kitchen, which did suppress and extinguish the fire. The vehicle still started, and we were able to drive it from our driveway to the side of our home, however, with the risk of it igniting again or creating any other failures, in addition to the guidance provided by our insurance company and Audi Corporate, we had the vehicle towed to an Audi dealership for further investigation. There was no indication prior to this that would lead us to believe the car would catch fire. We consider ourselves to be lucky that we were not driving as we would have no way to extinguish the fire on the side of the road. Since this incident, an investigation was done by Audi corporate. It was determined that there was corrosion within the right trunk compartment caused by water at some point which caused a short considering the body module and fuses are located there. However, Audi claims no responsibility in the water getting into the trunk or any manufacturing defects. Upon our own research though, we’ve seen many reports of Q models have sunroofs draining into the interior. The car has since been totaled by insurance due to repair estimates nearing $29,000 and taken to Copart auction.

My wife and I were traveling [XXX] west on Atchafalaya Basin from New Orleans to Lafayette, a light came on saying inferior tire check air [pressure. Next thing we were on a flat tire on side of busy unsafe area of the interstate. Call 911 to request police for safety with traffic while changing the tire. Officer assist with removal of tire, and said he's never seen a tire with that kind of damage. Inside wall of the tire was completely gone. I purchased a new tire $312. I'm concerned about it happening with the other tires. My wife doesn't feel safe riding in her car since. I read some of the other concerns from people who had similar problems with Pirelli tires. I would appreciate it if someone could research these tires and reimburse me It was a scary situation because of the location. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter! This vehicle has an automatic opening/closure feature for the rear trunk/hatchback door. It's activated by putting one's foot under a sensor under the rear fender. This is fine for opening the door but it also closes the hatchback door with considerable force. The feature can be activated inadvertently e.g. when loading the car (and one's foot is under the rear fender) or when sitting on the edge of the luggage area and changing shoes. Both type of events have happened to me. I'm an bald and have had the door close on my head (which broke my scalp's skin) and have had it close when changing shoes many times. If this closed on a small child, I fear that a limb could be broken (or worse). One cannot disable this feature (ideally just to prevent it from closing) or just to simply disable it completely. I have taken the car to Audi dealerships to have the feature disabled on several occasions - but they are unable to do so. It is a safety hazard in my professional opinion - I'm a physician but not an engineer.

This is in regards to your investigation into a recall for Audi 2015 A3 fuel system issues. My car was repaired as part of that initial recall, however, i am experiencing a bunch of fuel related issues as of now. My fuel tank will no longer fill with gas. The dealership said i need a need fuel tank. Then at the exact same time, my low side fuel pump failed. I mentioned to the dealership about the recall and the fuel problems, they told me they were not related. I paid to replace the lower said fuel pump. Now a few months later my high side fuel pump has failed. I then found the article about the investigation about fuel issues, they told me again it was not related. So now they are asking me to replace the high side fuel pump. I told them it was not a coincidence that both fuel pumps and my gas tank all fail at the same time along with the investigation. They again told me its not related. I opened up a case with Audi of America and they are investigating. Having issues with the fuel delivery system will cause the car to sudden stop and stall at high rates of speed, and has caused me to break down in the middle of the road with no warning.

Our 2020 Audi Q7 (50,100 miles) suffered a catastrophic electrical failure while traveling on the freeway at 65+MPH. Suddenly the engine warning light went on, and then seconds later the entire interior lit up like a Christmas tree before it succumbed to a complete and catastrophic electrical failure. EVERYTHING failed – the car had zero power. No acceleration, brakes, steering, SOS, hazards / turn signals, brake lights, airbags, door locks, etc. My wife and child sat there in a steel box traveling at a high rate of speed while obstacles navigated around them; had they been hit, the air bags would not have deployed. This car nearly cost me my family. Audi replaced the alternator and the battery, and denied my buy-back claim because the incident hasn’t happened multiple times, and therefore doesn’t qualify for the lemon law. We continue to experience problems with the car – most recently: acceleration hesitation and recent warning lights saying 1. camera sensor failure (only to have them start working again), 2. tire pressure warnings (despite all the tire pressures being normal), and 3. warnings notifying me that lights are out (despite all lights operating normally). I believe Audi is underestimating the severity of the situation. We were fortunate that the initial failure on the freeway did not result in injuries or fatalities. I cannot fathom the idea of waiting for the vehicle to fail multiple times before taking it off the road, potentially putting lives at risk. The car has only been serviced at Audi dealerships. My family and I no longer feel safe in this car. While selling it is an option, I cannot, in good conscience, endanger someone else's life by not disclosing the vehicle's history and the well-known electrical defects Audi has.

While driving down the freeway to the dealership a electrical system malfunction message came across the display. I continued on to the dealership and suddenly started getting system failures. One by one it popped up and said every single system failure including brakes and steering system malfunctions. Then it said transmission malfunction and I immediately lost all forward propulsion. The engine just revved when I hit the gas. I had to fight my way over to the shoulder where the vehicle came to a stop and would not even let me set the parking brake or engage park. I sat I the vehicle on the freeway between an on ramp and the moving lanes until the tow truck showed up. The failure turned out to be the alternator which I'm told is a very common issue for most audi vehicles. The vehicle was towed to the dealership and they replaced the alternator at no charge due to an extended warranty already granted on the failing alternators. The repair was made and vehicle was returned but the same alternator was put into the vehicle that was in it originally as it has not been updated. This created a major safety risk as power was lost while traveling at freeway speeds.

The contact owns a 2014 Audi A6. The contact stated that he became aware that the vehicle was experiencing abnormal oil consumption. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure, but an oil consumption test was not performed on the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 65-68 MPH, the EPC and the check engine warning lights were illuminated, and the vehicle started shuddering. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that there was no compression in cylinder #6. The vehicle was then towed to another independent mechanic, who determined that the engine needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 149,087.

Warning light came on for electrical malfunction and many other malfunction lights car then shut down.

P2067 engine check code which shows faulty fuel sensor. Audi has recalled other year Audi a6 sedan vehicles with the same issue and this seems to be a safety issue as it can show incorrect fuel gauge and in the event of car out of fuel, engine can stall and can cause accident.
