valve body failed and was supposedly repaired. I had the car 1 day and valve body failed again. My car has been in the shop since November 4, 2024 with no estimated time of repair because no parts are available. I was told they would replace the transmission. That has not happened yet. No parts available. My car has been disable for 6 months.

I was driving down the road. I accelerated to the speed limit of 55mph. This was not a quick acceleration. As I reached 55mph, my car seized up. The dash board went out, the engine shut off and I wasn't able to brake. I managed to coast until I came to a stop in the roadway. My car would not turn back on and I was told my engine seized and had to be replaced

  • 2022 CADILLAC ESCALADE
    - Atlanta, GA

On [XXX], while driving my 2022 Cadillac Escalade Premium Sport — which I had just purchased earlier that day — the vehicle suddenly shut down without any warning while I was actively driving on a busy street in Decatur, Georgia. Fortunately, the incident occurred while I was making a turn and traveling at a relatively low speed. I lost all control of the vehicle but was able to coast into the center turn lane and activate the hazard lights to avoid a collision. A police officer arrived on the scene and positioned their vehicle to prevent mine from being struck by oncoming traffic. Although I initially suspected a battery issue, the vehicle still had full electrical power. The officer contacted a towing service, and the vehicle was towed first to my home and later to the Cadillac dealership for evaluation. Today, I was informed by the dealership that the vehicle — which has fewer than 25,000 miles on it — requires a complete engine replacement. I am extremely concerned about the safety implications of this unexpected failure, especially given the low mileage and the fact that the vehicle had just been sold to me. I am submitting this report in hopes that this issue will be thoroughly investigated to prevent similar occurrences for other drivers. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be typing this message today. Given the abrupt and total shutdown of the vehicle, this could have resulted in a very serious accident — or worse. • 2024 CADILLAC XT4
    - Desoto, TX

I am submitting this complaint to report a significant safety system failure in my 2025 Cadillac XT4 during an accident that occurred on April 12, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. During the incident: •The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) did not activate, and I was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision. •Neither the driver nor passenger airbags deployed, despite sufficient impact that should have triggered deployment. •OnStar Automatic Crash Response did not activate, nor was I contacted by any emergency response service through the vehicle. None of the vehicle’s safety systems functioned during this event, despite being standard factory-installed features. My XT4 had no warning lights or diagnostic messages indicating any malfunction prior to the crash. This failure closely resembles previous complaints noted in NHTSA filings (e.g., ABS sensor failures, OnStar module failures, and the 2025 XT4 passenger airbag recall). I am extremely concerned that this may point to a broader defect within the model line’s safety infrastructure, including collision sensors, electronic communication systems, or airbag deployment logic. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether a defect exists in the braking or airbag systems, particularly where no safety features activate in a crash. I would be willing to provide repair records, crash photos, and allow the vehicle to be inspected if needed. Thank you for your attention and for helping to ensure driver safety through proper oversight.

  • 2023 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV
    - Saline, MI

We were traveling on a highway trip, approximately 71 miles from home the engine made a brief grinding noise and then with in about 2 seconds the engine completely shut down and stopped running. After having the vehicle towed back to my Cadillac dealer, the dealer determined that the engine was completely damaged by an "outsourced" defective crankshaft installed in the initial engine installation. The dealer has had my vehicle for exactly 1 month and says it is waiting for a new engine with no idea when they will receive the new replacement. I need my vehicle.

  • 2024 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV
    - st. Augustine , FL

My 2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV with 19440 miles on it experienced what I can only assume is a catastrophic engine failure today. On 4/13/2025 while driving around 65MPH on a major highway the vehicle lost all power and turned off. At first I didnt notice the issue until a sound began to go off asking me to turn the engine back on. The vehicle had shut off and forced a neutral shift. This happened in between changing lanes and if I was not a very aware driver this would have caused a major accident. I was able to navigate the vehicle to a turning lane where it came to a complete stop and would not turn back on. The vehicle had to sit on the side of the road for over an hour waiting on a tow truck to get it to the dealer. With the vehicle having no power and not re-starting I was stranded partially in a turn lane on the side of a major highway. Although my family was in the car with me I am glad it happened with me there and not my wife and 4 children only. This sudden engine failure seems to be a known issue and needs to be addressed ASAP to prevent major auto accidents.
