THE 2017 CADILLAC XT5 HAS A DEFECTIVE THERMOSTAT, WHICH SENDS A FALSE SIGNAL THAT THE ENGINE IS OVERHEATING. THEREFORE, YOU GET A "STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE", WHICH YOUR STEERING TO BE HARD AND NOT AS EFFECTIVE AS IT SHOULD BE. GMC IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT FAILED TO REMEDY IT, BUT ISSUED A BULLETIN #17-NA-158 IN MAY OF 2017. THIS PROBLEM IS SO WIDESPREAD THAT THE PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS ON "BACK ORDER" EVERYWHERE.

Airbag light came on last week, and continues to stay on. Have not taken in, as I was just checking for any recalls

Forward collision system has not been working properly for the past 3 years the car has been in for service for this problem the last time was March 1st 2023. I nearly had 3 accidents due to the system not working. The last contact was Holman Cadillac I was told by the service manager he would set up appt with the factory service rep and he has not gotten back to me by today's date June 12th 2023. A few days ago while driving (45mph), my 22' 4BW dash lit up like hell and I lost power steering, brakes, went into limp mode. Restarted the vehicle, all was well. I did almost take out the Mini Cooper in front of me, with a 'Baby on Board' sticker. Don't even want to think about that. I have a service appointment scheduled for next week and I'm not driving the vehicle until then. Diag: DIAGNOSIS c/s service air bag error message on display. Code DTC B0014- Driver side air bag deployment loop- high resistance. Could not get repaired. Per Dealership the part needed is "discontinued". Non- working airbags are a huge concern. I think that parts for airbags should have to be produced if a vehicle needs serviced for such a problem! The vehicle is in excellent condition overall and should last many more years but this very much needed part for safety isn't even available! That is not right!!! No accident or incident has occurred but this issue is very much a concern.

The power retractable running boards do not always deploy. This has caused me to almost fall to the ground a few times. I have taken it to the dealer at least 5 times and each time they say nothings wrong or they can't find anything even when it happens to them. This form will not let me fill in miles. Right now there are 32k on my vehicle. This happens when I am parked.

The contact owns a 2017 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the valve lifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 57,000.

-Traction Control/Stabilitrak light comes on and the major thing is the Camshaft and bearings that cause the LOW OIL PRESSURE SHUT OFF ENGINE WARNING LIGHT.. - When Low oil pressure shuts off the engine light comes on it will cause your vehicle to stall and shut off wherever you at.. -Independent service center - No just the independent service center worker - Yes! Start out with the Traction Control/Stabilitrak light and then the Low OIL PRESSURE SHUT OFF ENGINE WARNING LIGHT..January of 2022.

There have been a collection of other Vin numbers for this year make and model for the symptoms I have been experiencing since taking ownership in 2019. The vehicle will stall while running and randomly disable ALL WHEEL drive, Traction Control, ABS, and send Check engine light on causing me amdy son on infinite number of times to almost be hit In the middle of amd intersection, after a stop sign at low speeds, upon turning the wheels into or put of driveway, parking spaces and worst off at 60 mph on a freeway. This has resulted in multiple near accidents as the vehicle randomly disables itself. It occurs mostly after pressing the brakes to shift gears and almost always causes the vehicle to become inoperable for over an hour where it sits as there is no option to disable AWD or choose from FWD OR RWD. It happens in manual mode (or called performance mode) as well as automatic mode and has been occurring for 5 and a half years. I have been charged an exorbitant amount for supposed repairs from.dealers and mechanics who have claimed to fix it and I have severe autoimmune disease, a foot prosthetic, AND a minor child I have to transport to and from.school in the car. My issue and warning lights and symptoms mirror the recall of the Vin numbers the manufacturer has performed the recall repair on exactly and yet I have been sent from dealers who refuse to check the part that's defective which is I believe the hydrolic brake rod to the brake petal. The bold needs to be simply retorqued to the proper torque to fix the problem as it was either assembled improperly torqued and or can loosen over time resulting in dangerous and immediate and unexpected complete loss of power to the vehicle allowing people to slam into you at any time. I have had it towed numerous times after these incidents. All features, climate control, locks, entertainment, windows and everything functions when this happens. I have replaced batteries, brakes, oil changes etc. Unresolved.

The car constantly makes a noise. Even when it's parked you can still smell gas. It jerks all the time. Been having problem with it since day one I got it.
