The thermostat quit working. I've researched this issue and have seen this is a very common issue usually occurring when the vehicle has somewhere between 45000 to 55000 miles.

Since I purchased my 2022 Cadillac XT5 which was on 5-9-26, I have had issues with the performance of the transmission. Every time I slow down, the car down shifts very abruptly and roughly until the car comes to a complete stop. I also experience rough gear shifts when accelerating as well. This vehicle should have a smooth transition through gears not harsh and rough especially in a luxury vehicle. In addition to this being annoying, it is also a safety hazard as you lose control when it happens. A service bulletin was posted by the manufacturer acknowledging these flaws but are not going to do anything to address the issue (see attached file). I know that this is not normal as I have never experienced it with any of the cars I have owned in the past. The vehicle has been inspected by a Cadillac dealership and a Chevy (GM) dealership but they were unable to fix it due to the manufacturer bulletin. Note that a software update and transmission fluid exchange was done but did not help the jerky, clunky ride. Please also note that I have read many reviews from customers who have reported issues about the transmission as well. I don't understand how General Motors can produce these vehicles with such design flaws. It doesn't make sense especially when it affects a Cadillac which has always been a smooth ride with a smooth transmission. I would appreciate some compensation for all that I have experienced with this vehicle. It's not right.

  • 2026 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV
    - Sterling Heights, MI

At 9,000 miles the engine on my 2026 Cadillac Escalade ESV started knocking and the dealership replaced it. They did not provide a loaner or a rental vehicle for the time the vehicle was at the shop. After the replacement, the new engine sounds the same and will probably needs replacing as well. After the fix I started getting electrical issues my rear right signal and taillight started acting up. Sometimes the rear signal doesn't work and another times the rear right taillight would stay on after turning the vehicle off and locking it.

  • 2023 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV
    - Royal Oak, MI

The contact owns a 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, an "Engine Restarting" message displayed on the instrument panel and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact pulled over to the side of the highway, where the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with an unknown NHTSA Campaign Number, which was previously performed on the vehicle, but the recall remedy failed to prevent the failure from occurring. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,989.

  • 2026 CADILLAC VISTIQ
    - North Reading, MA

Vehicle displayed a 'Lithium Ion Battery – Schedule Service Now' warning within approximately one month of delivery. Dealership service records later obtained by our attorney show the identical diagnostic condition was already present and was cleared via a system reset on the date of delivery, October 23, 2025, without disclosure to us. The defect was 'repaired' in December 2025 (diagnostic code P13FB, coolant control valve replacement) but recurred in May 2026, with the warning consistently reappearing whenever ambient temperature rose above approximately 80°F, accompanied by complete loss of air conditioning. The vehicle has been out of service since June 4, 2026. We consider this a potential safety issue given the recurring high-voltage battery fault and are concerned other VISTIQ owners may be experiencing the same condition without knowing it was present before delivery. Since retaining legal counsel, a temporary repair was made, but the vehicle is now also subject to a manufacturer recall that renders the third row unusable, with no permanent remedy currently available. We are concerned this reflects an unresolved and possibly unfixable condition affecting vehicle safety and usability.
