  • 2026 CADILLAC ESCALADE IQL
    - New York, NY

Vehicle: 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL (battery-electric SUV). At approximately 4,500 miles the vehicle began displaying battery/high-voltage system warnings and charging system errors. An earlier incident involved a critical battery warning instructing service. When presented to the dealership, the vehicle was initially described as potentially requiring extensive diagnostic disassembly. The dealership later reversed that position and stated the issue could be addressed by repeatedly "cycling the ignition" approximately 30–40 times. No permanent repair or engineering explanation was provided. More recently, during an attempted charging session, the vehicle terminated charging due to a battery system error and displayed a red warning indicator requesting service. This prevented the vehicle from accepting charge and therefore prevented normal operation. In a battery-electric vehicle, the ability to charge is the functional equivalent of refueling. When the vehicle refuses charging due to system errors, the vehicle becomes effectively unusable and raises potential propulsion and safety concerns. When the vehicle was presented again for service, the dealership stated they had been instructed by the manufacturer not to perform service because the vehicle may be retrieved by the manufacturer. As a result, the vehicle continues to exhibit battery/charging system faults without a confirmed repair path. The issue involves the electrical system, propulsion system, and charging capability. The vehicle remains under very low mileage and the condition has not been corrected.

Experienced loss of electric power steering while driving at 60 MPH on interstate. Had 6 passengers in vehicle at the time and could have crashed if another vehicle was in other lane next to us during steering loss. Steering available for inspection. Have taken vehicle to dealer to fix issue. They diagnosed and replaced Negative and Positive wiring harness to battery; however, vehicle steering loss occurred again right after picking up and is back at dealership now. Sent dealer article about other owners of 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade experiencing same issue to help explain steering issue. Also sent video of steering glitching while driving back to dealership. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior, during, or after failure known.

The engine failed on I-17 while driving 75MPH on 2/14/2026. The car shifted into neutral and was able to coast on to the berm of the interstate. The car was towed to Flagstaff Chevrolet and was determined to have engine failure and is waiting for a replacement engine. When the engine failed a warning message came on warning of severe engine overheating and shut down and the car automatically shifted into neutral.

I have replaced two brand new tires on the back right. I then saw that there was a TSB for the very issue im having with my vehicle. A slow loss of air from the back right tire. The TSB link is https://www.nhtsa.gov/?nhtsaId=11017016 Its a slow.loss of air that eventually ends you up with a blown tire on the side of the road which has happened twice to me now. There is no location on the vehicle for a spare tire coincidentally. I still have the tires with damage to them for proof . My brakes and rotors have been. Changed because the mechanic said that could be the issue. I never thought of it being the tire and rim until I saw the TSB for this which is exactly what it feels like when the air does get in the rim and begins to naw the wall of the tire.

  • 2025 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV
    - Superior, CO

My 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV went into the dealership for routine maintenance and several software updates were applied to vehicle along with an oil and filter change on 17 February. The software took multiple times to load and I took the vehicle home on 20 February. Later that day after picking up my children from school an error popped up on the dash that stated Service Leveling System and Vehicle Too Low Drive with Caution. Shortly after on the way home the ride height system made a crunching noise after I parked and got out of the vehicle to get gas. It felt like something mechanical wasn't working in the suspension. I dropped it back off at the dealership Monday 23 February. I picked up the vehicle later that day and the same error popped up again. We then gave it back to the dealership on the 24th of February to resolve and they kept if for over a week and were unable to determine root cause of the issue as of 2 March. The error code was reset by the dealership and was told to notify them again if it happens a third time. I believe there is a software issue that is causing problems with the adaptive air ride suspension.

The contact owns a 2020 Cadillac CT5. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered and experienced hard shifts intermittently. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure progressively worsened, and the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound while driving. The check engine warning light and the traction control warning light were illuminated. The contact stated that after taking the transmission apart, the contact became aware that cheaply made transmission parts had disintegrated, and there were metal shavings in the transmission. The contact determined that the transmission needed to be replaced; however, it was an extensive repair. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V148000 (Power Train); however, the recall repair only involved the transmission control module monitoring software installation. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the transmission repair was not covered under the recall. The contact stated that the recall remedy was inadequate to correct the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the recall repair could not be performed on the vehicle due to the vehicle having a branded title. The failure mileage was approximately 578.

  • 2024 CADILLAC LYRIQ
    - Anaheim, CA

Component: Electronic Stability Control / Navigation / GPS Complaint: Since the February 2026 over-the-air software update, the built-in Google Maps GPS has been severely malfunctioning. The system consistently fails to update my vehicle’s location, showing me as stationary at my home address even after driving for 30+ minutes and 20+ miles away. This is not an intermittent glitch — it renders the native navigation system completely unusable after nearly every drive. Prior to the February 2026 update, the GPS functioned perfectly. The issue began immediately following that update and has persisted despite infotainment system resets and checking for further software updates. I am aware that GM has internally acknowledged this issue via Preliminary Information bulletin PIC6644 (issued February 2026), which attributes the problem to a “software anomaly” and confirms engineering is investigating. However, no fix or timeline has been provided to customers. A GPS system that does not reflect the vehicle’s actual location is a safety concern — particularly when relying on navigation for routing, hazard awareness, or emergency response. I am filing this complaint to ensure this issue is part of the public record and to urge NHTSA to monitor the scope of this defect across 2024 Lyriq vehicles

The radiator had a leak that required replacement in my 2020 Cadillac XT5. The car only had 30,000 miles. Because of that GM replaced the radiator for $600 instead of the standard cost of $2,000. This is the 3rd Cadillac of my relatives of similar age that had a radiator leak. The service manager admitted they are replacing at least 7 of these every week. In my opinion this is a manufacturing defect and should be replaced at no cost instead of a negotiated lower price. My concern is that GM is repairing these vehicles with the same parts that have failed so many times. It will likely happen again in less that 5 years. A second issue is the transmission was shuddering during acceleration. GM replaced the torque converter under warranty. But I have read this is also a common problem with GM cars for several years. I think GM should have to come up with a solution and contact owners for a recall.

My 2022 Cadillac Escalade Sports Platinum has shut down several times while I'm driving, and recently it started shifting into neutral on its own. I have three kids, and my whole family was in the car when this happened. Once, it shut down and shifted to neutral as I was crossing a busy street at night. I was really scared that someone might hit us because it was hard to see. I will take the SUV to the dealer for an engine inspection because of a recall. This problem is very frightening and could put lives at risk.
