McCredy Motors replaced the engine due to a recallin 6/2025. Husband was driving from our home [XXX] to town and we had made it to [XXX] . Husband stated there was no warning, no engine light, no oil lights, no indication of over heating. Just a loud clunking all of a sudden, nocking, grinding and crackling. Husband immediately pulled over left the truck over night at the Greene town barn and we called in the morning to have the truck towed back to McCredy motors on the morning of 4/4/26. Reading up on this I have found the even after the recall and a new engine customers are still having catastrophic engine failures. This is absolutely what I feel we are currently experiencing. McCredy Motors will diagnose on Monday when the Certified Chevy dealership opens. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of 4WD capability and transmission communication while driving. The dealership diagnosed a defective battery ground cable. GM has issued Customer Satisfaction Program N252515590 for this exact issue, but they are refusing to cover my specific VIN despite the truck exhibiting the exact failure described. This defect causes the vehicle to lose critical powertrain functions, posing a safety risk on the road.

If I was traveling at a higher rate of speed (over 30mph) a accident could've easily resulted. Check engine light and vehicle went into reduced acceleration mode after 3 to 4 severe shift occurances. Dealer has vehicle and found the valve body of transmission was faulty and will be replacing entire valve body. Still under factory warranty. Mileage at occurance was 45,006 miles.

1. The fuel pump power control module on my 2022 Chevy Silverado failed. It was 38 months old and had 14,970 miles on it. I purchased it only 2 months ago. I believe the specific part number was 13554060. It was replaced with part number 13554821. The dealer retained--or more likely, disposed of--the old part. The cost of the repair was $762.87. 2. I was driving on Rt. US 20 in Toledo, Ohio. My truck experienced a sudden loss of power without warning. The vehicle stalled and would not restart. I had to call a tow truck. The truck was towed to Ballas Buick, where the part was replaced. 3. There was a voluntary recall of other vehicles that utilize this same part, so the manufacturer should be aware of the flaw in this component. The recall number is N252516900. 4. No warning light came on before the vehicle stalled, stranding me on the road. I had just enough of a sense of the impending failure to pull to the side of the road.
