2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 Complaints

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that there was an abnormal fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle was shaking abnormally while idling. The contact had taken the vehicle to several independent mechanics and various sensors were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer who discovered a leak in the high-pressure fuel pump which traveled to the crankcase and could potentially cause a fire. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while making a turn at 20 MPH, the power steering assist failed with the "Service Power Steering - Drive with Caution" message was displayed. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V719000 (Steering) which he linked to the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the electronic power assist and rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under recall. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

A warning about my power steering popped up. My power steering is completely out. I had to drive it to the dealership to be worked on. The dealership has it in the shop. It's been there for two months, they cannot find the part. GMC/Chevy offered some money to help cover me since I cannot drive it, but that's when Gerald Jones GMC Aiken, SC deemed it operable. I told Chevy/GMC I would ask what the NHTSA said about that. I asked GMC the definition of operable. I don't have a definition yet. My belief is that my truck is not operable due to a safety issue (power steering) being out. Thank you for always protecting the consumer and protecting us. The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with Tread Wright Tires, Tire Line: Mud Lord, Tire Size: 295/65/R20, DOT Number: 1422. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal flapping sound coming from the rear of the vehicle while the vehicle started shaking and vibrating. The contact stopped and inspected the vehicle and discovered that a baseball-sized bubble had developed on the tread of the rear passenger’s side tire. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 2,000.

At low speed power steering will cut off and kick in opposite direction, radio will blank out followed by service stabilitrak warning has happened multiple times in last few wks since first of Sept 2023

Driving on the freeway the right back wheel just broke off. The tire went flying across the freeway. No one was hurt physically but it could have been worse. The wheels were not customized or changed in any way. My husband, myself and our baby were inside.

Power steering stop working “ACTION REQUIRED “ Steering assist is reduced Drive with care

I have been having problems with my vehicle cutting off and I would jump start. It often gave be a theft code on the dash. Until one day it stops starting all together. Now to find out there is a recall on the electrical system I was told by my mechanic please contact me so I can get this resolved will be with out of transportation, paying insurance and a car note thank you.

Truck shuts down, power steering quits working and forces vehicle wheel back other direction, stablitrack light comes on, ac shuts down, truck loses power, sometimes completely shuts down while turning.

Purchased new 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 in March with ziebart rust protection service done yearly to date. Truck has 74,000 miles valued at 28,000- $30,000 before noticing frame has cracks, holes and excessive rust Truck will not pass inspection now.
