2023 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- MACOMB, MI
Main bearing failure at highway speed. Engine replaced by GM under warranty. Vehicle had the recall service done prior to the failure, the recall test and different oil was inadequate to predict or prevent this failure. Vehicle was serviced by the dealer for all oil changes on time.

I needed a replacement driver-side windshield wiper arm for my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 with factory rain-sensing wipers. GM's electronic parts catalog directed the Chevrolet dealer to part #23387855. The dealer physically compared the part to my original arm and confirmed it was the wrong shape and would not fit. The dealer opened a formal Catalog Omission/Error (COE) ticket with GM. I was then informed that GM redesigned the wiper arm on my truck. The correct redesigned arm has been ordered, but I was told there is no estimated availability date and that it is not currently available through GM dealerships or GM's parts distribution/warehouse system in North America. This is a safety concern because a damaged or failed wiper arm could leave an owner without proper windshield visibility during rain or severe weather. I am also concerned that the passenger-side arm may have the same catalog and availability problem, although this has not yet been confirmed. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this issue affects both wiper arms and other 2023 and newer Silverado 1500 trucks with this wiper configuration nationwide.

Multiple times the truck has stopped running while driving. Once one the highway, once in an intersection, another time in a parking lot. It has not started when I have tried to turn it on. All the times I have called AAA. They have checked the battery and there is no battery issue. Twice AAA has come out, once the police have come and sat behind the truck to keep me safe. After about 10 minutes of the sitting with the truck off I can restart it and drive. Upon research, other Chevy trucks of similar age have a recall for a failed fuel pump module. This is the issue. If it is a known issue, and causing a dangerous situation it should be recalled on all trims of Chevy trucks. I will be getting this fixed, but don’t feel I should incur the $1,000 expense for a known defect.

Was making a left turn with a left turn street light green for me to turn across an intersection. Pickup stalled in the middle of the intersection and would not start. With the help of another person we manually pushed the pickup out of the intersection and onto another side street. I received an email at that exact time from General Motors showing a code of P129F which is the Fuel Pump Power Control Module. I am a [XXX] man stranded in 90 degree heat with no AC or shade to get under. My safety was put at risk in the above instance but more so if I had been entering IH 10 into traffic traveling 70MPH and my truck had just stopped running without any warning. This is a known problem as described in GM Service Bulletin 24-NA-139 with both the NHTSA and DOT. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

a week ago I was backing up and this truck is supposed to be equipped with a "REAR CROSS TRAFFIC BRAKINGF – When in Reverse, the system warns of detected cross-traffic approaching in either direction and provides alerts and hard emergency braking to help reduce the severity or help avoid collisions at very low speeds", I backed into another vehicle that was parked behind me. I did not receive any warnings and the automatic braking did not activate. I was fortunate that I was going slow and only damaged the other drivers door and my tailgate and bumper.

When driving normally OR pulling a camper (same day), power steering seems to "stick" as I exit either a moderate RH or LH corner. I must apply extra effort to the steering wheel to straighten out, and that invariably leads to an over-correction and departure into either the shoulder or the opposite lane. Problem is not sensitive to speed or weather conditions. The symptoms are not necessarily worse when pulling a camper, but the consequences are much more drastic and losing control of the vehicle feels much more imminent than when driving just the truck. Because the problem comes and goes so quickly, I can be applying force to straighten the wheel when suddenly, no force is required and the truck veers either left or right. I see no warning lights, nor do I see any messages displayed. I have not yet had the opportunity to get the truck to a mechanic. I'm not confident that I can safely drive to a repair facility, as the steering is so unpredictable.

Truck will hard shift and bang into gear while driving. This usually happens when slowing then starting up again. happens at all speeds on highway, so hard it lunges me forward. condition getting worse. random times my windshield wipers will just come on ( I do not have rain sensors) the switch is in the off position and wipers will just come on and I have to turn them on then turn them off to get them to stop.

The left front turn signal becomes inoperable at times. The foreword collision indicator warning will come on unprovoked at times. Both conditions correct when you cycle the ignition switch. I consider the turn signal problem a safety issue because it happens with no warning and oncoming traffic may not know I am turning left or changing lanes. When the foreword indicator appears, I doubt the system is operable.
