2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Hopewell Junction, NY
On more than one occasion, the vehicle jolted forward when going to accelerate from being stopped at a red light. It felt like the vehicle was rear ended by a vehicle behind (it was not) to give some perspective. The last time it happened, the engine shut down but the dash stayed on, and the dash would not turn off, nor would the engine restart. The Chevrolet dealership which it was towed to is stating that the wires from the engine wire harness are chaffing and that the entire engine wire harness needs to be replaced. Additionally, there is a service bulletin posted by GM indicating that the proper repair for this is to replace the engine wire harness and add additional protection, which is a clear indication of faulty engineering to begin with.

Transmission valve cover and yes available for inspection. It wouldn’t shift gears causing me to drive only 10mph. It has been reproduced. Not inspected and the check engine light came on when the vehicle started to shudder.

I purchased this car on 7/15/24 and had no problems until 8/8/24 after I took my car through an automatic touchless car wash. Upon exiting the car wash, I noticed that the tailgate was now down even though I never unlocked it. I parked the car and closed the tailgate and began driving home. Halfway home, the tailgate opened again on its on. The bed was empty so I continued driving home and then closed it again. Later that night, I went out to take the garbage cans out to the street and again noticed the tailgate was down. I again closed it. The next morning, I went to go to work and the tailgate was again down. This would be a serious safety issue if I had items in the bed of my truck and the tailgate opened while driving. I searched this issue online and found that there are recalls for this exact issue in other trims of this truck but the recalls don't cover my trim. I took it to the dealer where I purchased it and they are looking into fixing it. I want you to know that this is an issue as well for this trim.

Hello, I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden the engine made a noise then the dash alerted me to shift into neutral/press start. I had to pull off the highway in single lane traffic and call for a tow. The truck was towed to the dealership. The truck lost power on the highway in single lane and there was no ability for other cars to go around me in a 75mph zone due to construction. The dealer diagnosis is that the motor is locked up and will require full replacement at only 70k miles. It is within years on powertrain but out due to mileage. There were no symptoms until the truck engine locked itself up.

The Transmission is stuck in 2nd gear, and won’t reverse. I bought the truck used from dealership. There is a GM Technical Bulletin, that states the vehicle is/was not to have been sold, prior to having the Transmission control Module replaced.

The contact owned a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at approximately 10 MPH and coming to a stop light, inadvertently the front driver-side wheel detached from the vehicle, which led her to collide with a vehicle that was parked on the right side. As a result, all of the underneath of the vehicle was damaged. The contact stated that the wheel flew away and fell in front of the driver attempting to turn to the right and also causing a collision. There were no warning lights illuminated, and no strange sounds were noticed before the failure. The airbags in the vehicle failed to deploy. There were five people in the vehicle during the incident. The contact and his wife suffered from injuries in the chest which required medical attention. The contact also stated that his daughter suffered from chest pain and his grandson from knee pain. The other people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries, and they were only interested in getting paid for the damages. The contact also stated that the vehicle was previously taken to an unknown local dealer for a strange sound emanating from the wheel; however, no failure was found. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately unknown.

Bought the truck brand new and the transmission hard shifts in every gear. Has been in and out of the dealership nonstop for the past 2 years for electrical issues with the radio, an oil sensor wiring issue, and the dealership is trying to say 5 modules are out in the truck. They only posted 3 modules and they were transfer case module, power steering module, and body control module.

As I drive down road at speed limit. Transmission control module shuts down and the truck loses speed to where it's a safety problem that the cars behind you almost hits you as you have to coast of the road. It has happened to many times. I took it to dealerships. But I had to shop around from county to county to find one that would fix the problem. They dealership wouldn't fix while under warranty. Know that I have finally found a dealership in another county. They have ho parts to fix it. But I'm stuck with a bill that while under warranty the problem exists. The biggest thing is that once I found this dealership. They informed me that this is ongoing problem with GM. They had about 7 others in shop with the same problem and no parts. I don't understand while there is no recall to fix this problem that exists. Trying to make me pay my truck payment plus spend monthly money on renter cars. That's about $2000 a month extra.
