Due to the Fuel Pump Power Control Module (Part number 13554821) failure, my vehicle stalled in the middle of a turn while pulling a 10,000 pound RV. This caused me to lose both power steering and braking capabilities. From what I gather, this part is part of a "phased" initiative recall (see N252516900 Fuel Pump Power Control Module). This part was seemingly installed in all or most of GM SUVs and Trucks since 2021. Unfortunately, only some 2021-2023 models are under recall due to the "phased" nature of this recall. Meanwhile, all Heavy Duty trucks are driving around on our roadways, highways, and interstates, just like I was, towing heavy machinery, equipment, and RVs because both you and GM are dragging your feet on demanding these flawed modules be removed from these vehicles. In summation, virtually every GM SUV and truck on the road produced since 2021 is a ticking time bomb that could stall at any moment and disable both power steering and braking capability. If thats not bad enough, concerned owners, such as myself, are stonewalled with the words "there is no active recall on your vehicle " both by GM and your very website. The "phased" nature of this recall is unacceptable and is putting lives at risk. Had I been traveling at highway speeds when this failure occurred, while towing a heavy load, with braking traffic in front of me or a sharp turn, I would not have been able to stop or turn. This is an urgent matter and should be addressed accordingly, not in a "phased" manner.

First started around 4 to 6000 miles, felt a shuttering between 50 and 65 mph. Shattering lasted from 10 to maybe 30 seconds let off the fuel and reapplied still there on one or two occasions. RPMs were approximately 2000 RPM shattering stopped in our PMs went down to 1500. This is occurred many times taken to a dealership always get same result, no problem found. Problem always occurs just after a transmission shift which I can tell by RPM. When I apply gas shuttering sometimes increases not always. Also noticed that sometimes shifting on a flat surface 65 miles an hour engine will speed up to almost 2000 RPM and when it goes to shift back, I get a clunk or sometimes a shutter normal cruising is about 1500 RPM at 65 mile an hour. I didn’t notice towing an empty trailer about 2600 pounds shattering seemed worse. With no Trailer I sometimes get erratic shifting where RPM goes 1500 to 2000 to 2500 and then back down again then back up again then it can shift all the way back to 1500 RPM still maintaining 65 mph. Also another problem may be connected to transmission, but I have pulled out into traffic pushed on the pedal and it feels like the truck has no power push on the pedal a little bit more still no power and all of a sudden it’s like everything kicks in RPMs, increase rapidly and truck accelerates extremely fast, throwing things off the dash moving things on the floorboard. Sometimes I see that a downshift occurs and RPMs increase other times I see RPM staying right at the 2000 mark and it still occurs almost got rear ended a couple of times. Check engine light has been on one dealership said they pulled over 40 codes. Still they all claim can’t duplicate problem. Yes I agree it is random but with me watching telemeter and County shift points biggest problem area is fourth gear fifth gear and sixth gear.

Driving down the highway at 60mph, dash started blinking for trailer brake service needed. Was not trailering anything. Within 3 seconds I had smoke filling the cab, pulled over and got out. Within 3min truck was fully engulfed totally gone. God forbid I was alone but even at that I did not have time to get many things out and keep imagining what a different day I’d be looking at if there were kids with me.

In May 2026, my vehicle began exhibiting serious and dangerous problems. It would shake violently after starting and occasionally stop on its own while driving. On [XXX], my wife and I got into the vehicle and started driving from our home in West Virginia. While driving uphill at approximately 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly began shaking severely and then came to a complete stop. After a few moments, it restarted itself and accelerated to about 30–40 mph while continuing to shake violently. This happened several times during the trip. Fuel consumption also became extremely abnormal, dropping to approximately 6 miles per gallon. Because Team One Chevrolet in Oakland, Maryland, is the nearest dealer, we drove there for service. After several hours, the dealer returned the vehicle and informed us that they had replaced a sensor. However, after leaving the dealership, the Check Engine light came on again after only three engine starts. I immediately returned to the dealership, where the warning light was cleared. The following day, the Check Engine light returned. When I contacted the dealership, I was told to continue driving the vehicle with the warning light on for one to two weeks. After more than a week, I returned to the dealership, and the light was reset again. A few days later, the same problem reappeared. At that point, I was informed that, according to dealership procedures, replacement parts could not be ordered until the issue had been reported three times. After the third visit, the parts were finally ordered, and I was required to wait several more weeks for another service appointment. I also reported the issue directly to Chevrolet. Despite multiple visits, repeated failures, and a significant amount of time spent attempting repairs, my vehicle remains unrepaired. My factory warranty is approaching expiration, and no one has provided a clear answer regarding what will happen if the upcoming repair attempt fails to resolve the problem. Transmission Control Valve failed causing my vehicle to drop from 70 miles per hour below 40 miles per hour rapidly on the highway/interstate which could have caused a fatal crash. Called OnStar and was told my code showing was P0747 meaning service now. I called dealerships to get an appt next morning and this happened in the evening and was told the soonest I could get in was a week away, most was longer than that. I did worked in and was told my TCV needed to be replaced. I was told this is a common problem with this truck but when I contacted GM they told me they could only do a 30% courtesy discount because my 2400 Chevy Silverado 2500HD already had 83,000 miles on it and is out of warranty. I have researched this and NHTSA already has a bulletin in place for this same issue but it didn’t include my VIN so they told me there was nothing more than can be done. This is a huge safety risk and concern. My daughter and wife could have been driving my truck and it could have caused a very bad wreck. My vehicle had no prior warning until this happened. My vehicle did say reduced engine performance and my check engine light came on during the event but nothing prior. Now my truck shifts hard and gets hot fast. We opted not to drive and took it to a local dealership for repair due to the risk of injury if we continued to drive it to us and others. We are not put out a vehicle and monthly payment as the part is on back order. GM pretty much is brushing us off and told us we can file a complaint with NHTSA if we feel like it’s something more that needs done. Bulletin number in place for this issue on other VINS is N242454441. I don’t want this to happen to others so I wanted to report it plus I feel like GM should have cover total cost especially with it being a known issue. Thanks

On or about March 14, 2026 vehicle in question stopped working, losing all power and gave a message that the vehicle was over heating and to turn off immediately. A large amount of steam emitted through the coolant reservoir that was a mixture of oil and coolant. Vehicle was towed to a manufacturer service location. The oil/coolant system ruptured damaging the radiator, thermostat, hoses and related parts. Vehicle with low mileage/hours was consuming engine oil at what one would consider a greater rate. ( 1 quart every other day). Our organization is aware that the diesel model of this truck had a recall for a oil/cooling system issue and we believe the same liability may lay with the gas version. Mileage was approximately 13,000 at time of breakdown.

Power tailgate opens and closes by itself. Safety of others is at risk if materials fall out on the road while driving if the tailgate opens by itself. There has been a recall for this but my truck vin is not included yet had the same issue. No warning when tailgate started having issues.
