2024 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Laredo, TX
2024 Silverado 3.0 Rst turbo replacement, followed by engine replacement at 80K miles. Advised the dealership about the transmission at about 85k miles. At 103,000 miles the transmission failed. GM is denying any responbility. This is already a known issue yet GM keeps denying it. Major saftey issue from the beggining of the purchase. Every complaint has been noted by the dealership.

I am driving a rental Chevrolet Equinox with the steering-column-mounted electronic gear selector. I believe this shifter design creates a serious safety hazard. The gear selector is a stalk on the steering column positioned and operated similarly to controls commonly used for windshield wipers in other vehicles. While driving, pulling back on this stalk can immediately shift the transmission into Neutral, even at highway speeds. My wife and I have unintentionally shifted this vehicle into Neutral approximately a dozen times because of this control arrangement. Once the vehicle is in Neutral while moving, we have been unable to shift it back into Drive until coming to a complete stop. This creates a dangerous situation: the vehicle suddenly loses propulsion in moving traffic, and the driver cannot simply restore Drive. The driver must coast, find a safe place to stop, come to a complete stop, and then select Drive. This is particularly dangerous while merging, crossing an intersection, driving on a highway, or anywhere that maintaining acceleration may be necessary to avoid a collision. This is not a complaint that the controls are merely unfamiliar. The vehicle accepts a Neutral command at road speed from a simple movement of a steering-column stalk, while preventing the driver from immediately restoring Drive. Because the stalk’s location and operation can conflict with established driver muscle memory for steering-column controls, I believe this represents a foreseeable human-factors safety hazard. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this design and determine whether it presents an unreasonable risk to drivers and other road users.

Three 225/60 R17 tires bubbled in the sidewall and blew out causing loss of control. Two occurred on the same day another a few weeks earlier. The dot above is on the one remaining tire. This occurred on a brand new car purchased 2.5 months earlier from Bale Chevrolet. The dealer has been of no help what so ever. I had to tow and purchase new tires X 3

Engine failed and was replaced at 38k. Transmission shudders, have been back to dealership multiple times for transmission shudder, have been told it was tires, torque converter, and valve body. When those items didn’t fix the issue, I was told it was the engine dfm and that it was normal and not a problem, AFTER they had already acknowledged the transmission issue by trying to fix it with a torque converter and valve body. Engine failed again at 54,604 miles while at high way speeds in rush hour like traffic in between [XXX] and [XXX], while pulling a camper. Truck oiled down the interstate and produced a blueish/milky looking cloud that caused drivers behind me to lock up their brakes because of bad vision, creating a hazard. I was told by gm that they wouldn’t tow the camper that I had to take care of that but they wouldn’t tow send a truck for my truck. Tow truck gets there and says my truck is too big and leaves. I called my own rollback to get my truck 3 1/2 hours later and they came and got it. Was stranded on the side of the interstate for 4 1/2 hours in 90 degree weather, to my knowledge the 2nd truck gm was supposed to send never showed up. Requested a buyback and was denied with no reason given. I have a lot of records if anyone wants them. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The automatic power-unlatching tailgate assembly failed. The tailgate unlatches, opens, and cycles closed completely on its own while the vehicle is in motion and driving on public roads and when the gear shifts from drive to park and park to drive. The vehicle and the tailgate assembly are fully available for inspection upon request. The tailgate opening unpredictably while driving at road speeds creates an extreme safety hazard. It risks cargo flying out into traffic, which could cause a severe multi-vehicle accident or injure pedestrians. Additionally, it creates a massive driver distraction while trying to monitor the opening and closing tailgate in the rearview mirror while maintaining control of the vehicle. Sometimes there isn’t a warning light and sometimes it shows a warning light “tailgate open” I have taken it to the dealership and was told it isn’t part of the active recall for similar makes and models and my vehicles year/make/model needs to be added to the current recall for these concerns. It opened on its own while in park and turned off when the mechanic was replacing the license plate light.

2023 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN- Medina , OH
Complete engine failure on 2023 Chevrolet Suburban 6.2L. On October 31, 2024 while on the interstate. The truck shut off twice with no warning. I was able to make it to the side of the interstate twice to restart. The truck was taken to Serpentini Chevrolet and they stated no issues were found and send the vehicle back on the road. On December 13,2024 while on a state route, speed limit 55, 12,231 miles the Suburban abruptly slowed down and violently started to shake and knock. I pulled off to the side of the state route and waited approx 2 hours for the vehicle to be towed. The vehicle was towed to Serpentini Chevrolet and they stated the engine was blown and needed replaced. The vehicle was at the dealership until February 13, 2025 when the engine was replaced. The recall was released in April 2025 at which time the vehicle was taken in for the oil change “repair”. The truck now has 20,200 miles and is lacking power and starting to shake when accelerating from 0-50mph. I will be scheduling additional service in the coming week. While going through the blown engine, GM stopped responding to emails, did not compensate for months of payments I incurred while they had the vehicle and they are still selling unsafe vehicle.

Car acclerated and steering pulled right, which pulled me off the road doing damage to steering gear and linkage, wheels, front suspension, exhaust system and slight body damage. Could be defect in car causing safety issue. With dealer, GM is involved but have been unable to determine why it happened. Insurance involved to cover damage. no warning lamps or failures appeared.

2025 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE- Little river, SC
The car starts it self and then shuts off all by it self. It has done this twice that we know of. Its impossible to do this even if your keys are in your pocket as you have to hit 3 different buttons to do this. I am not the only one having this issue as there are people complaining on FB that their car does the same thing.
