    Driving on the interstate and vehicle started slowing down then abruptly stopped. We were able to get onto the shoulder of the road. The gear would not stay in drive mode continuing to slip out of drive and into park. We made it to a dealership in Knoxville tn where we had to leave it..

    I experienced the issue being investigated with Investigation: EA26005 I lost engine power while driving my 2024 Chevy Tahoe. GM is now conducting a full engine replacement with another L87 engine.

  • 2026 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500
    - Cleveland, TN

    Twice under 3200 miles while pulling into driveway on an incline the vehicle shifted to neutral then turned off and began to roll backwards down my driveway. No codes or CEL came on the display read press start to restart engine so I did that and it started and ran normally until it happened again while pulling into driveway. I took vehicle to my local chevy dealer they pulled history codes and saw 8 communication error codes with various areas of vehicle, checked battery and charging, test drove it and said they found nothing wrong with vehicle. This is a safety issue and should be investigated further, very disappointing on a brand new vehicle only 3 months old.

  • 2020 CHEVROLET COLORADO

    On September 4, 2026, I experienced an extremely serious and frightening braking failure while driving my 2020 Chevrolet Colorado 2.5L. I was driving my granddaughter to school and was pulling into the school's carpool/drop-off area at approximately 20 mph. This was an especially dangerous location because children, parents, vehicles, and school personnel were in the immediate area. As I attempted to slow and stop the vehicle, the brake pedal suddenly became extremely hard and the vehicle would not stop normally. The dashboard displayed “Service Brake Assist,” and the check-engine light illuminated. I pressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle continued moving. Realizing that the normal brakes were not stopping the truck, I engaged the emergency/parking brake. The emergency brake slowed the vehicle somewhat, but even then the vehicle did not come to a complete stop. I ultimately had to place the vehicle in PARK to get it stopped. Fortunately, I was traveling at a low speed and was able to prevent the vehicle from striking a child, pedestrian, another vehicle, or other property. My granddaughter was also inside the vehicle at the time. This was an extremely frightening situation that could very easily have resulted in catastrophic injuries or death. The fact that this occurred in a school carpool/drop-off area surrounded by children makes the seriousness of this failure especially concerning. There was no reasonable warning that I was about to lose normal braking assistance. I am reporting this incident because I believe this vehicle may have experienced a serious safety-related defect involving the braking/brake-assist system. I am requesting that this incident be documented and that NHTSA investigate whether other owners of 2020 Chevrolet Colorado vehicles, particularly those equipped with the 2.5L four-cylinder engine, have experienced similar sudden losses of brake assist or braking ability.

  • 2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

    Special Coverage Program" (N242454441 While driving, the vehicle experienced sudden, severe shifting issues and entered a dangerous transmission "Limp Mode" severely limiting vehicle speed and power in live traffic. An OBD-II diagnostic scan retrieved active trouble code P0747 (Pressure Control Solenoid 'A' Stuck On). This indicates a well-documented mechanical defect in the transmission valve body covered under GM Special Coverage Program N242454441. [1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8] Upon contacting my local Chevrolet dealership service department, I was informed that due to catastrophic backlog and part constraints, the dealership cannot physically scan or diagnose the vehicle for six months. The manufacturer's network is actively failing to provide a timely safety remedy for a known powertrain defect, leaving a hazardous, malfunctioning vehicle on the road without a resolution or substitute transportation.

  • 2026 CHEVROLET EQUINOX

    At approximately 5pm EST, my wife stopped the EV vehicle after backing out of the garage and put the vehicle in park. After exiting the driver's seat, she was outside the open driver's door, had both feet on the ground and cleared the door enough that she was preparing to close it, when the vehicle began moving with no one in the driver's seat. The vehicle traveled down our inclined driveway, across the street and striking my neighbor's house. A [XXX] neighboring child was in the vehicle's path. My wife believed the vehicle would strike the child and screamed for her to move. The child moved clear before the vehicle reached her, and no contact occurred. The vehicle stopped when it hit the left side of the neighbor’s garage causing damage to the stone siding and framing of the garage. The vehicle then started to move forward over the lawn and into the street. At some point after it started moving forward the neighbor, an adult male, was attempted to stop the vehicle physically but was unable to. I came out of the house and saw what was going on and was able to help stop the vehicle, entered it and apply the brakes. My wife also tried to enter the vehicle to stop it during these events causing her to get ran over, substantial scraps, bruising and other injuries. We are reporting unintended movement after driver exit and request investigation of park engagement, the shift-by-wire system, electric parking brake, Automatic Vehicle Hold/driver-exit functions, reverse automatic braking and propulsion/brake controls. 2 GM EV Concierge agents separately were unable to retrieve remote diagnostic information. The vehicle was towed to [XXX] in [XXX] with very specific instructions. I opened a case with GM EV Concierge and they escalated it to "the executive team". Despite multiple calls and emails the executive team has not reached out. The case was even closed once and I had it reopened. I opened ticket # XXX but can't find it so I'm opening this one.   • 2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

    Incident Description:While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado at highway speeds, the front passenger-side bumper outer filler panel (fascia molding) completely detached from the vehicle without warning and flew off into active traffic.The factory plastic mounting clips and tabs failed entirely under normal driving conditions. Because the panel flew directly into the path of trailing vehicles, this defect creates an immediate and severe road hazard that could easily cause a multi-vehicle accident or serious injury.This is a known engineering and structural defect shared across this vehicle platform, yet no safety recall has been issued for the Chevrolet Silverado to protect the public.

  • 2022 CHEVROLET MALIBU

    While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Malibu on the freeway, I experienced a loss of braking. This created a serious safety hazard because I was unable to stop the vehicle normally. The vehicle had previously displayed a check-engine warning. I brought the vehicle to the Chevrolet dealer. The dealer is requesting approximately $4,000 for repairs and has refused to perform the turbo-related recall/special coverage repair unless I pay for those repairs. I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident as a potential vehicle safety defect and review whether the braking problem may be related to the known turbo/engine issue Break vacuum pump is broken and diagnose by the dealer . Check engine light was on prior to incident due from Turbo charger failure

  • 2026 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

    I am submitting this formal statement regarding a severe, recurring safety hazard involving sudden engine stalling and internal mechanical noise on my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.The vehicle has experienced multiple sudden engine stalls during low-speed deceleration, specifically while letting off the accelerator pedal to execute low-speed turns into parking lots. When the stall occurs, the engine dies completely, causing an immediate and dangerous loss of power steering and power braking assistance mid-turn. Because the vehicle shuts off completely while still in motion, I am forced to bring the truck to a dead stop, shift the transmission out of Drive and into Park, and completely cycle the ignition system to restart the engine.There is a distinct, audible mechanical ticking sound coming from the engine compartment during operation. Crucially, the vehicle has never illuminated a Check Engine Light, displayed a dashboard warning message, or given any advance electronic indication prior to or during these sudden stalling events.This vehicle's build window falls directly into the scope of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) active Engineering Analysis (EA26005) investigating catastrophic valvetrain and engine failures on GM 6.2L L87 engines. Because this defect causes an unexpected loss of vehicle control with zero diagnostic warnings, it poses an immediate highway safety risk to myself and others.I request a full diagnostic scan for hidden or pending fault codes, a physical inspection of the valvetrain/Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) system, and an inspection of the engine oil filter for metallic debris indicative of internal bearing degradation.
