  • 2021 CHEVROLET EQUINOX
    - EDMESTON, NY

REPLACED A PROPELLOR SHAFT AT 59,000 MILES 8/23/2025. PAID $859.00. UNAWARE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AND COVORERD BY A MANUFACTURERS WARRANTEE. SIX MONTHS LATER MY MECHANIC(1) AND CAR DEALER(2) RECOMMEND A BODY CONTROL MODULE AND POSSIBLE REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACEMENT ESTIMATED BETWEEN $1500-$3500. THIS VEHICLE STILL HAS LESS THAN 69000. THIS HAS BEEN A HARDSHIP AFTER PURCHASING A NEWER VEHICLE SO I COULD HAVE FEWER REPAIRS TO MY BUDGET.

A safety recall has been issued for my 2019 Coachmen Leprechaun motorhome (VIN: [XXX] ) built on a GM chassis. The recalled component/system is the subject of an active manufacturer recall; the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I have attempted multiple times to complete the recall repair through General Motors. However, there is no Chevrolet/GM dealership within approximately 2.5 hours of our location in [XXX] that has the lift capacity required to service this motorhome. GM representatives confirmed that the repair must be completed at Dick Hannah Chevrolet in Sandy, Oregon. GM offered to cover towing to the dealer but stated the “reunite” transport (return of the vehicle to the owner) would be billed to us, leaving the consumer responsible for part of the logistics required to complete the recall. Because the recall cannot be performed locally, this situation leaves us without a practical way to complete the safety repair without incurring significant cost. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealership because there is no capable service facility in our region. Any warning symptoms or failure conditions related to the recall are UNKNOWN, as we are attempting to have the recall remedy performed before a failure occurs in order to avoid potential safety risks. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I believe my thermostat is a problem. I keep getting "P012B" "coolant under operating temperature" codes on my obd2 meter. This seems to coincide with "driver assist reduced" on my instrument cluster on my dash board. I researched it and on a forum it sounds to be a very common problem. Someone said to report it on here. I can clear the "p012b" error code with my obd2 and my thermostat instantly becomes responsive however it comes back within 2 days or so.

  • 2022 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER
    - Sarasota, FL

Unknown. This was a certified preowned vehicle that was purchased on December 18, 2024. We have had NUMEROUS issues with the car since purchase but the most concerning has been the door actuators. The front door actuators on both sides failed in less than a year from date of purchase. I was told by the dealership where it was repaired that this was a common problem and to expect the rear ones to not be far behind. 4 months later, the rear ones are now not working. This creates a safety hazard, especially since this is the primary vehicle that my teenager drives with his younger brother. A malfunctioning door lock actuator can create dangerous situations, including the possibility that a door may fail to unlock or open, potentially trapping passengers in the vehicle during an emergency or out of the vehicle when my underage children are by themselves. Conversely, the door may appear to be locked when the mechanism has not actually engaged, leaving the vehicle vulnerable to unauthorized access. Faulty actuators may also cause erratic locking or unlocking behavior while the vehicle is in motion, which can create a safety distraction for the driver as well as a security risk. There were no warnings that this was an issue. My son thought the doors were locking (and unlocking). I am aware GM is already "tacking" this issue as I could find stats on how many people have reported, so it is enough that they are taking notice.

  • 2021 CHEVROLET COLORADO
    - Vero Beach, FL

While driving a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado on Interstate 95 in Florida, the vehicle suddenly experienced a loss of brake assist. The brake pedal became extremely hard and very difficult to press. The driver had difficulty slowing the vehicle and had to use the emergency brake to help bring the vehicle to a stop. This occurred on Interstate 95, which is a very busy highway with high-speed traffic. The sudden loss of braking assistance created a serious safety hazard and could have resulted in a crash. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop where the mechanic diagnosed the problem as a failed vacuum pump that broke and damaged the exhaust camshaft and related components. The repair required replacement of the vacuum pump, exhaust camshaft assembly, camshaft actuator and solenoid, and valve cover gasket. The total repair cost was approximately $2,329. The vehicle had approximately 64,348 miles at the time of the failure. No warning lights or prior symptoms were noticed before the failure occurred.

The bolts holding the exhaust to the catalytic converter broke while I was driving my car. The car could have flipped, the exhaust could have busted through the vehicle, or I could have caused an accident and died. This comes on the heels of the EXACT SAME THING happening to my wife's Chevy Trailblazer with nearly the same mileage as mine. I have 97K miles and she 96K. This is a KNOWN ISSUE to them and it is NOT THE FIRST time this has occurred. There are thousands of similar instances that have occurred and one can easily find the anecdotes through an online search.
