2024 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE- FONTANA, CA
Approximately four weeks ago on 02/03/2026, during rainy conditions, the brakes on the vehicle did not function properly, creating a serious safety concern. At the same time, a hose connected broke and there was a strong burning smell coming from the vehicle. I also noticed fluid leaking from the vehicle. I immediately took the vehicle to the dealership for repair, and the vehicle remained there for approximately five days for inspection, parts, and repair. Additionally, this is now my third time bringing the vehicle in for service. During previous visits, I asked the service department about the condition of my brakes because they were making a squeaking noise and I was concerned about their performance. I was told by the service department that the brakes were fine, that I still had plenty of brake life remaining, and that the squeaking noise was normal. However, as of March 4, 2026, my vehicle displayed a new warning message stating “Service Brake Pad Monitor – Front Brakes.” This is concerning because the vehicle currently has approximately 25,490 miles. Given the previous brake concerns I reported and the dealership’s response that the brakes were normal, the new warning message raises additional concerns about the safety and reliability of the braking system. Because this defect involves the braking system and creates a safety concern, I am requesting that General Motors review my case under the applicable Lemon Law and advise me on the next steps toward either a vehicle replacement or buyback if the issue cannot be fully resolved.

2019 CHEVROLET EQUINOX- Reno, NV
On multiple occasions my vehicle (2019 equinox LT) that I bought just over 30 days ago has falsely activated the forward collision feature and slammed on its own brakes followed by “service ESC” and “service brake assist” with traction control lights and stability control lights illuminating. Dealership has confirmed that 4 computer modules are out of date on programming/updates. This is a critical safety issue and I am unsure why it hasn’t been recalled as I have read multiple instances of this. Unfortunately because it has not it is a hefty repair bill. When this happened the last time before heading into the dealership, there was a vehicle behind me that could’ve rammed into my rear due to the sudden and excessive braking at highway speeds when I was pressing on the gas.

2022 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN- Tampa , FL
In several separate unreplicable instances, the vehicle has turned off while driving, once on the highway, once on my street, once turning across heavy traffic, and others. I've almost died a couple times and I've taken it to the dealership several times, they have Not been able to find anything wrong with it and have been unable to replicate the issue. The engine has been replaced, and it was happening before and since. My 2023 is also doing the same thing.

2019 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Northport, AL
Incident Description: While driving at highway speeds, the oil cooling lines on my vehicle suffered a catastrophic failure, resulting in a total loss of engine oil within seconds. To ensure my safety and avoid being stranded in high-speed traffic, I proceeded less than a quarter-mile to reach the nearest exit. During the cooling process after the vehicle was stopped, the engine seized due to extreme thermal damage caused by the sudden lack of lubrication. Safety Risk: The sudden and total loss of engine oil at highway speeds presents a significant safety hazard. It creates an immediate risk of sudden engine stall or seizure while in traffic, which could lead to a high-speed collision. Furthermore, a high-volume oil leak onto hot engine components represents a severe fire risk. Technical Evidence & Manufacturer Response: There are existing Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for this specific vehicle model that explicitly identify these oil cooling lines as a known failure point. These TSBs state that failure to replace these lines can lead to the engine becoming non-functional. Despite this documented manufacturing defect and the clear safety implications of a sudden engine failure on a highway, Chevrolet has refused to provide a remedy, insisting that the engine replacement be paid for out-of-pocket. Requested Action: I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this known defect for a potential safety recall, as the failure of these lines constitutes a predictable and dangerous loss of vehicle power and potential fire hazard.
