2023 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN- Clifton Springs, NY
I was driving to work last Wednesday, and I live on a hill. As I was driving, a "Brake failure" alert came over my dash and I lost all control of my brakes!!! I live right off of Main Street, and my options were only to go straight and into a house, or to turn onto Main Street and hope no one hits me or that I don't hit another vehicle. I turned and thankfully no one was coming. At the end of that street I was able to coast into an closed down gas station and park the vehicle. I called the dealership I had purchased this vehicle from 10 months prior, and they told me I had to use OnStar to have it towed to them. I did that, and they towed it to the dealership. The next day the dealership told me the cause of losing my brakes was due to a SOFTWARE UPDATE that was needed!!!!! They charged me $800 for the update & a battery that they said was not holding the charge, which I've never had an issue with. I had purchased an extended warranty with this vehicle and I was told it would be a bumper to bumper warranty AS IF I had purchased it new (it was 2 years old). The dealership said this was not a critical software update and was not covered under any warranty. I could have been KILLED or seriously injured or killed or hurt someone else due to my brakes going out due to a SOFTWARE UPDATE that was needed!! This is insane!

I was driving South on interstate 55 near Arnold Missouri in adaptive cruise control mode at approximately 65 mph when the car braked suddenly and came to a complete stop on the interstate. Car would not go forward after stopping. Turned the car off and restarted and the car now would drive normally. Have not used ACC since and car has behaved normally. Took the car to dealership in Farmington, MO and they reported no error codes and no recalls. I had driven over 13,000 miles in the car without any incidents previously.

2020 CHEVROLET BLAZER- Fairburn, GA
There seems to be a constant problem with the service driver assist error code popping up and check engine light coming on. The ac heating keeps losing temperature. I've looked for support for this issue and it seems to be a common problem for chevy owners. Why isn't there a recall on this.

2021 CHEVROLET TAHOE- Baytown, TX
As many have already complained, the headlight adjuster screw for the drivers side of the headlights of the vehicle always break or get stripped out even at low mileage, causing the headlight of the drivers side to point down onto the road and being unable to illuminate anything past the very front of the vehicle at night. This is a serious hazard that is not possible to fix or adjust without a large bill at the dealership. The drivers side headlight is pointed down and me myself, has resorted to adjusting the passenger side headlight to point up to compensate for this issue. This is causing many safety issues as I cannot see anything past 1-2 feet from the front.

2019 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE- Woodbine, NJ
To the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am submitting this letter as a **formal safety complaint** regarding repeated transmission failure in my **2019 Chevrolet Traverse**, which poses a potential risk to vehicle safety. In **December 2024**, while the vehicle was still covered under General Motors’ factory powertrain warranty, an authorized GM dealership diagnosed a serious transmission defect. Due to parts being on national backorder, the repair was delayed. When the repair was eventually performed, only partial components (torque converter and valve body) were replaced rather than the full transmission. Despite this repair, the transmission **failed again less than one year later**. In **November 2025**, a second authorized GM dealership confirmed that the transmission now requires **full replacement** and that the prior repair did not correct the underlying defect. The transmission failure has resulted in **slipping, hesitation, and loss of proper power delivery**, which creates a **potential safety hazard**, particularly during acceleration, merging, and highway driving. A loss of propulsion or delayed response in traffic significantly increases the risk of an accident. This issue was identified while the vehicle was under warranty and was not properly resolved. The repeat failure suggests a **systemic defect** rather than normal wear. General Motors has declined further assistance. I am requesting that NHTSA review this complaint as part of its monitoring of potential **powertrain defects** affecting vehicle safety. Vehicle Information: * Make/Model: 2019 Chevrolet Traverse * Manufacturer: General Motors * Component: Transmission / Powertrain Thank you for your attention

2017 CHEVROLET BOLT EV- Saint Leonard, MD
Vehicle started to surge while driving (both small acceleration forward and large deceleration) without any change in brake or accelerator position. Eventually a "Propulsion Power Reduced" message was presented on the console followed immediately by no forward propulsion (accelerator completely unresponsive) and forced to coast to a stop on the side of the highway. Car refused to shift out of park or neutral following breakdown. Car taken to dealer to troubleshoot and was told that a P0A3F code was present and that the engine harness needed to be replaced in accordance with NHTSA bulletin 19-NA-220. This bulletin calls out that the harness was likely damaged during initial install at factory and the dealer representative confirmed that the pins were damaged as described. Car was given back to drive home after harness was checked (owner decided to explore options before scheduling repair), but broke down due to surging and complete loss of power within 2 miles of dealer. Troubleshooting to confirm harness damage is suspected to have worsen the condition and made un-commanded accel/deceleration followed by complete loss of power likely. Uncertain why this condition would be exempt from recall if OEM is aware of installation issues at factory. Driving with this condition was as bad or worse than other type model loss of power conditions that have been recalled. Recommend at least clarifying that cars confirmed to fall under this bulletin and associated inspection should not be deemed roadworthy until a repair is made.

2024 CHEVROLET MALIBU- Greensboro , NC
Water is pooling in the trunk of my car. I took it to the chevy dealership for a diagnostic and today, they told me water is leaking into the car because of a faulty seal. I just did some research online and have learned that this has been a common issue. I read that warranties have been extended to cover this defect. I would like chevy to extend my warranty to cover this defect, which they've known about for quite some time. As they know, water pooling in a car can lead to other problems.

2023 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500- Mont Belvieu, TX
My tailgate latch keeps opening every 60 seconds. Does it going down the road or parked. my tailgate has hit numerous cars that parked behind me causing me to have to pay out of pocket for 2 other cars where my tailgate dented or scraped the paint on their vehicles. I see this safety recall online for this tailgate latch, but my vehicle isn't covered for some reason. Safety recall N232426400 explains the entire issue with the faulty latches. Due to the faulty latch, now my tailgate also needs bodywork and to be repainted. That's costly.
