Horn and all dasbboard controls quit working on my steering wheel. Rear wiper comes on by itself when the vehicle is put in reverse but the toggle no longer works to activate the rear wiper. The washer fluid will work with the toggle switch, but the wiper still does not come on. Reverse lights quit working.

  • 2023 DODGE CHARGER
    - Los Angeles, CA

The vehicle has experienced repeated failures associated with diagnostic trouble code P06DD. When the condition occurs, the vehicle is unable to exceed approximately 3,500 RPM and experiences engine stalling and loss of power while driving. The issue is intermittent but has occurred repeatedly. The vehicle has been presented to authorized Dodge/Stellantis dealerships on five separate occasions for diagnosis and repair. The oil pump was previously replaced for this issue at approximately 5,000 miles, yet the condition continues to recur. Most recently, the dealership advised that the issue was resolved and returned the vehicle to me. Within approximately 30 minutes of leaving the dealership and driving on the freeway, the check engine light returned and the same stalling and loss-of-power condition immediately reappeared. The defect creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate normally while operating in traffic and on freeways. When the condition occurs, the vehicle cannot exceed approximately 3,500 RPM stalls while driving, creating a risk of collision. The vehicle currently has approximately 21,000 miles and remains under manufacturer warranty. Despite multiple repair attempts, the defect has not been permanently corrected.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, an abnormal whining sound was heard coming from under the vehicle, and the Tachometer would abnormally rise while depressing the accelerator pedal. An unknown warning light illuminated. In addition, a local independent tow mechanic arrived on scene, and while attempting to shift the vehicle in Reverse, the vehicle moved forward. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it remains, and was diagnosed as needing a transmission replacement. The vehicle was not repaired due to the costs. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign: 16V461000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.

  • 2016 DODGE JOURNEY
    - Deltona, FL

The 2012-2015 Dodge Journey was previously subject to an NHTSA recall for an electronic stability control module defect producing similar ABS warning and brake-related symptoms. The 2016 model year was not included in that recall. Other 2016 Dodge Journey owners have reported the same symptoms to consumer complaint databases and noted the gap in recall coverage. The 2018 Dodge Journey was separately recalled for a brake caliper defect affecting braking performance. The defects I experienced on this 2016 vehicle appear consistent with a documented pattern across multiple Dodge Journey model years that may warrant extending recall coverage.

  • 2012 DODGE RAM 2500
    - Belfry, MT

We purchased our 2012 Dodge Ram heavy duty with tow package new. At just over 152000 miles, the engine started knocking while on vacation. We were not towing at the time. We put in injector cleaner to try and help the knocking. During our vacation, we were on the freeway when we suddenly lost power, the service engine light popped on, and the engine died. We were literally driving one minute and the next were trying to get out of the traffic lane with no control. We restarted the engine, the knocking had stopped and power was restored. Two days later, another episode of power decrease but with no engine service light. We used premium gas, injector cleaner and listened for the knocking that came and went, to drive home. We were told by our local dealership it is a lifter failure and the truck needs a replacement engine.
