With help from a family member the contact was able to eventually maneuver the child out of the car seat. During the failure, the child had stomach pains. No medical treatment was required. 2016 DODGE CHALLENGER 39,900 MILES. DRIVE TRAIN COMPLETLY BROKEN OFF. MY SAFETY AND OTHERS STEERING PROBLEMS. SUDDEN LACK OF POWER TO TIRES. THIS CAR IS DRIVEN VERY LITTLE AND IS DRIVEN LIKE A GRANDMA. THIS DRIVE TRAIN SHOULD NEVER HAD BEEN AND ISSUE. THERE SHOULD BE RECALLS ON THIS. I AM HAVING TO PAY $2500 TO GET IT REPLACED. THE ONLY WARNING I HAD WAS I NOTICED IT WASN'T POWERING LIKE IT SHOULD OR TURNING LIKE IT SHOULD. EVEN THOUGH ITS 7 YEARS OLD, THE MILEAGE ON IT PROVES ITS A WELL TAKEN CARE OF VEHICLE.

Started idling rough and jerking when accelerating from a complete stop (traffic lights, intersections, etc) and when accelerating after braking in traffic.

My throttle got stuck open four times and the last time I almost lost my life and was in an accident. This is a known issue on the dodge forums but dodge refuses to call this defective and make it a recall. This is dangerous it could have killed me and others. There were no warning the throttle was going to go on its own.

On 2/25/23 we started noticing the smell of gasoline around the 2014 dodge challenger, so we stated looking around the gas cap and down around the gas tank and noticed a small few drops of gasoline on the ground near the gas tank. But Didn't notice exactly where the leak was coming from the tank or around the tank. So keep an eye out over the next week then we started noticing a bigger drip mark. We are not driving the vehicle due to leak from gas tank for fear of explosion and fire. We sent the car to our mechanics to check it out . He said the tank was leaking due to being warped, this was not the first time he had seen this problem in the 2014 dodge challengers. He said we will need to replace the tank. We are very concerned with this problem, we enjoy our dodge and are considering buy a new one when the time comes, but will have to reconsider with this type of problem looming. So we parked the car outside and away from the house for fear of fire danger.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph and turning in an exit veering to the right when the vehicle began reducing in speed and the vehicle was displaying numbers counting down on the instrument panel. The contact pulled to the side of the road where they turned the vehicle off and waited approximately 5 - 10 minutes before turning the vehicle back on and driving to the dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure therefore they were unable to diagnose the cause. The vehicle had not been repaired. Approximately 3 weeks after while driving approximately 40 mph when attempting to go on a roundabout when the vehicle began displaying the count down on the instrument panel. The contact attempted to apply the brakes however the vehicle continued to accelerate forward causing the contact to drop into the center of the roundabout. The air bag failed to deploy and the contact hit their head on the steering wheel. The contact also received whiplash and medical attention was needed. The contact was injured from the neck down the back. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,722.
