EAST TO WEST Complaints

The contact owns a 2024 Forest River East to West Alta Trailer. The contact stated that while inspecting the trailer, it was discovered that the two rear tires on the driver’s and passenger’s side of the trailer were worn from the inner section of the tire. The trailer was taken to the local dealer, and it was determined that the rear axle was crooked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 5,000.

We arrived for our first trip this year on Thursday April 23, 2026. We did not need heat until Saturday night April 25th 2026. We turned the propane bottle on and then set the thermostat to heat for it to come on. After several attempts the furnace never ignited. We turned the 1st bottle back off. Went to the second bottle on the driver's side of the camper, turned that bottle on and went in the camper to turn the gas stove on to bleed the line. Then went back to the heater and set it to come on again. It did not ignite. Went back outside to the second propane compartment and I started to smell gas. Checked the bottle connection and it was tight. Turned the propane back off and unhooked the bottles. This was about 11:00 at night and figured we'd look at it the next day in the daylight. April 26 2026, I had some camping friends and myself look at the propane lines on the driver's side compartment. I turned the propane on to see if we could smell or hear leaks. Immediately out of a very sharp bend in the hose we found a split in the hose. We turned the propane back off and examined the hose a little bit more and found the second split. We then traced the line under the camper, approximately 15 feet of hose, that went into a t/splitter. We were able to look at the hose still having the tag on it, we figured we would just order one and replace it. April 30, 2026 we arrived back at the campground and start to replace the line. My buddy climbs under the camper only to realize it is not the right part. I went out and got a part to fix it temporarily. After installing it we tested and turned furnace on. It ignited but when outside smelled propane again. Look under camper and discovered more leaks/splits in hose. Turned off propane as we knew this was a dangerous situation. Contacted our Dealer who contacted Forest River to make a claim. They have denied the claim as being out of warranty. To me this an issue that should be fixed regardless of warranty.

Vehicle power panel has bad grounds throughout the vehicle Vehicle has lost all power to the unit

The fuel system, especially the fuel vent system is improperly installed preventing fueling of the vehicle. This line fails to vent and is pinched, causing fuel leaks and risking fire hazard. The vehicle is unable to be fueled properly, also impacting ignition and reducing fuel flow to the engine whole driving. This is a known issue with other identical vehicles having been recalled. However this vehicle has not been recalled and the dealers are selling this vehicle with a known safety hazard while lying about having fixed the issue. Our safety is at risk because the line may be pinched or punctured creating a fuel leak. Fueling the vehicle results in splashback of fuel on to the person pumping. Poor venting could result in sputtering or stalling while driving at highway speeds. The problem was reproduced by the selling dealer, by the preparation technician, acknowledged by the dealer, and again acknowledged by the Ford service technician. The Ford dealership is the only one to acknowledge that this is a problem that needs to be repaired, even though the problem was created by the RV manufacturer. Everyone is aware of this issue at the RV dealership, at the Forest River and East to West manufacturing plants as well as local ford dealerships. They are willfully selling this vehicle despite the known risk to our family's safety as well as everyone else on the road. All Ford F600 RVs made by any branch of forest river, including Dynamax and East to West should be recalled for all VINs until they hold their manufacturing team accountable for doing this correctly.

I have a [XXX] . VIN is [XXX] but doesn’t pull anything up when searched. I tried calling to report my concern but I am now making another complaint as what the call taker typed, is not even close to what I reported. There was a missing weld in the aluminum framing which caused another weld to break causing the body to move independently from the frame causing it to literally start to fall apart. After “being repaired” by East to West, the body is still moving independently from the frame which can be seen where the bolts holding the body to the chassis are moving up and down. This movement of the bolts happens when going hitched and putting the landing gear up and down which means it’s also happening when driving down the road. The contact owns a 2024 East to West Tandara RV. The contact stated that after a visual inspection, he became aware that the bolts used to secure the RV's body to the frame were missing in several locations. The RV was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the frame welding, resulting in damage to the frame. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was invalid.

The contact owns a 2024 Forest River East to West Tandara. The contact stated that while attempting to release the slides to extend the rooms of the RV, the slides intermittently failed to expand. Additionally, the contact stated that the refrigerator was programmed to turn on and refrigerate the food while the RV was running; however, the refrigerator failed to properly operate. The contact stated that the microwave, hot water heater, and heater also failed to activate intermittently. The contact stated that the electrical failures were all located on the driver's side of the RV. The dealer stated that the wiring was installed incorrectly. The RV was re-wired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

St235/80r16 On return trip from a week end of camping the front tire on drivers side and rear tire on passenger side blew out. This trip on the passenger side the front tire blew out. The first blow out caused damage to the rear portion of my Rv. These tires will cause an accident on a major highway and possibly a death.

Either Ford or Forest River installed valve stem extension on the vehicle along with poor quality hubcaps on the front wheels of the RV. On our first long distance trip our hubcap fell off and sheered the valve stem causing rapid loss of tire pressure. We were able to get to the shoulder and use roadside assistance to install a plain rubber valve stem. On the trip back our other front hubcap fell off in Indiana. It did not shear off the valve stem, but when I removed the extension when a mechanic suggested it, I noticed severe damage to it. (as though a hack saw were cutting it off). I belong to a East to West Entrada owners group on Facebook and this is a very common occurrence. It's only a matter of time before someone loses control and gets hurt.
