While driving the HVAC stops working, radio locks at current setting (cannot turn volume up or down, etc.), screen goes blank or locks, windows do not open or close. Their are multiple warnings about sensors not working. Malfunctioning driver assist jerks wheel when driving through a restaraunt drive-thru. Had the sensor replaced for the adaptive cruise control and it did not correct the cruise issue. The issue initially started with the monitor screen going blank randomly and then progressing to the above issues. This had been happening for the last 2 or 3 years before the above accured.

The vehicle hesitates, jumps, and then surges into gear when accelerating from low speed, which I believe makes it difficult and hazardous merging into traffic and other driving situations. Due to the hesitation it is unable to get up to speed very easily or quickly on busy interstate roads. The hesitation, jumping, and surging has gotten progressively worse and occurs at higher speeds now. It seems like it now does this during each gear shift. I am a longtime Ford owner I previously drove a 2001 F150 with little to no problems, it reached around 280,000 miles before it's trade in. I now have a 2020 Edge SEL 2.0 AWD and have really enjoyed this car until this problem started. It was bought in March of 2024 with 62k miles and it now has 92k. The problem initially only surfaced after the car had bene on and moving for a while and it was very subtle. I could not tell if it was engine or tranny and it was only barely noticeable. But the issue has remained and now occurs at all periods of time when being driven. I have had this vehicle inspected by multiple service centers now, both of which confirm the problem being that when shifting gears the internal parts of the transmission slip causing wear and extra heat generation, leading to the slipping and jumping. The transmission needs to either be rebuilt or replaced due to its faulty initial construction. I have been told by these mechanics that they have had to do this exact replace on many of this exact same model of car, and similarly each time they've done it the models are typically around 80,000-90,000 miles not even making it to 100,000. There were no warning lights or messages and there still aren't any even after getting it looked at twice.

The transmission has been serviced regularly. It is starting to jerk at lower speeds. I have had two auto mechanics from different shops and locations inspect the transmission. Both have found shaved metal in the transmission fluid. After a call to two different Ford dealerships, the auto mechanics were informed that it is a problem with these transmissions, but Ford has not issued a recall. If I have to replace the transmission, I will be contacting an attorney for assistance. There have been no warning lights or alarms indicating that there are problems with the transmission. Because there are no warning lights on the dashboard, it has been hard to diagnose the actual problem. Of course, I am approximately 6000 miles over the extended warranty. At the time I took the car to the shop, the mileage was 79,465.

Recently had the torque converter replaced for shuddering/shifting weird. Although there is no more shuddering, the car still does not seem to be shifting correctly. It hesitates between shifting gears and will then accelerate quickly. It was seen at the shop again today and they could not find any issues with it although I was told it will likely do it again for me and to let them know. There have not been an indicator lights.

I own a 2020 Ford Edge ST with approximately 62,460 miles. My vehicle has developed a loud noise coming from the rear differential, particularly when turning at low speeds. On July 6, 2026, I had the vehicle inspected by my independent mechanic, Kenny's Quick Service. Ford Motor Company has not inspected my vehicle. My mechanic documented the following: "Customer has a noise in the rear of vehicle. Checked vehicle and found noise in rear differential, when turning at low speeds. Checked fluid and fluid is not at proper level, differential could possibly come apart. Differential needs to be replaced." Based on this inspection, my mechanic advised me not to continue driving the vehicle because of the condition of the rear differential. I was advised that if the differential completely fails, the vehicle could stop moving and potentially create a dangerous situation, including the possibility of an accident. The vehicle is currently not being driven because of this safety concern. This issue concerns me because Ford previously issued Safety Recall 21S02 involving certain 2020-2021 Ford Edge vehicles and a low-fluid condition in the rear drive unit. According to the recall information, inadequate lubrication could cause the rear drive unit to seize, resulting in loss of drive and/or loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash. My vehicle is a 2020 Ford Edge ST, but my VIN is not included in the 21S02 recall. Despite not being included in the recall, my independent mechanic has now diagnosed a rear differential problem involving an improper fluid level and a condition requiring replacement of the differential. The similarity between the recalled condition and the condition diagnosed in my vehicle concerns me greatly. The estimated cost to replace the rear differential has been verbally stated to be approximately $3,000 to $5,000. I have not yet received a formal written repair estimate. I have contacted Ford Motor Company regarding this issue. Ford opened
