2022 FORD EDGE Complaints

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the infotainment center remained black until the vehicle was shifted into reverse(R), allowing the back over prevention system to become activated. The failure was intermittent. When in reverse(R), the image on the screen was intermittently delayed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention). The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,023.

The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.

The contact stated that while attempting to reverse, the rearview camera image was displayed but then went blank. The contact stated that due to the failure, the vehicle struck an object. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention); but the VIN tool showed no open recall. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.

Vehicle is experiencing sluggish acceleration and stalling when driving under 40 mph. Vehicle has stalled in heavy traffic on occasion. Further investigation with transmission is being conducted soon. No other issues with powertrain to this point, vehicle maintenance has been on or only slightly behind schedule per recommended maintenance schedule. Hundreds of other similar make and model vehicles have reportedly had similar issues.

Jerking harshly when shifting. Feels like a strong shudder. Light comes on and off. Also experienced a failure to shift and had to shut the car off. Very rough to drive. Car was purchased new, never been in an accident and less then 3 years old

An unknown local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was not available.

Swerved to miss deer and ended in a ditch and all the airbags deployed except for the steering wheel airbag.

Transmission. Everyone that owns a 2022 ford edge sel have had to either buy a new transmission or rebuild… out of my 4 vehicles with over 100k miles I have never had transmission issue and now I buy this car and it has transmission issues I’m over it. Ford need to recall their transmission

Shuddering starting at 78,000 miles. Needed new torque converter. Common complaint/issue with this model.

At 67,000 miles the vehicle started lurching forward and then at one point the traction control light came on the dashboard and the vehicle stopped itself while driving, as if the brakes were being applied, but we weren’t applying the brakes. After turning the car off and turning it back on, it drove with hesitation and was slipping between gears. Also, the front collision sensor has been coming on upon startup for quite some time. Took the car to the Ford dealership, and they determined that the torque converter was bad in the transmission and suggested a full transmission replacement. Ford agreed to cover $4000 of the $10,000 replacement. This means I would have to pay $6000 out of pocket to get a new transmission. We previously had a 2020 Ford edge and had the same exact problem but it was covered under the powertrain warranty as it only had 58,000 miles. At that time, we did a transmission rebuild at the dealership and the car never drove the same after that, which is the reason we bought the 2022 Ford edge, Not thinking we’d have the same exact problem with the transmission.
