2023 FORD EDGE Complaints

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Edge. The contact stated that on multiple occasions, the center console display overheated, causing the cabin temperature to become extremely hot. The air conditioning could not be operated due to the center console display being inoperable. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the center console display was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.

CAR HESITATES WHEN GIVING GAS PEDAL, ON GOING ISSSUE, DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME SPERATIC

On June 20th 2026 while driving my 2023 Ford Edge SEL AWD at approximately 35mph on an active hwy (93 AZ NB in Wickenburg AZ) the vehicle experienced a sudden catastrophic loss of motive power and came to a sudden stop in a jerking motion. The vehicle completely disabled itself without warning in live traffic, presenting an immediate and severe safety hazard to myself and surrounding motorists. I was forced to stay in an immobile position impeding the flow of traffic and could not coast safely out of the way of hazardous traffic conditions and subsequently was almost hit by a semi-truck and another POV. The vehicle was subsequently towed out of the hwy with law enforcement present for safety and the local repair shop provided a quick analysis of transmission failure. About 2 weeks later, the vehicle was towed by AAA to another mechanic and subsequently an authorized Ford Dealership where through diagnostic evaluation and repair. The official scan log revealed a critical internal failure of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) identified by Diagnostic Trouble Code P0600 (serial communication link failure). This total electronic communication breakdown immediately triggered an un-commanded cascade of secondary transmission performance faults, specifically P0751 (shift solenoid A Stuck off) and P2700, P2701, P2704, P27B2, P27B4 (transmission friction element application time/performance faults). The failure terminated in codes P073D (unable to engage neutral), P07E4 (unable to engage gear 7), and P07E6 (unable to engage gear 8) which locked the powertrain. Crucially, this sudden module collapse and cascading powertrain destruction occurred exactly 81 days following a mandated Factory Recall regarding the PCM was performed by an authorized FORD dealership on my vehicle. The engineering evidence suggests that a corrupted software flash or module disruption during the recall process caused the master PCM to issue erratic hydraulic line pressure commands, starving the trans

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and accelerating, the vehicle unexpectedly stopped. The contact stated that shortly afterwards, the vehicle returned to normal operation. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was diagnosed with transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

Backup camera malfunctions. Goes black and picture is fuzzy, jumpy and distorted.

The 3rd brake light (high mount stop) has burned out. The repair costs are exorbitant for a legally required part of the car and self repair is extremely challenging. There are numerous complaints online about this part failing.

I reported this the other day. The screen will go black and stay that way for several minutes. It will then come back on then out again. It's getting a lot worse. I'm an older lady that's a lower leg amputee trying to work and I need this screen for directions as I'm by myself in areas I don't really know at night. It's a serious safety issue. Dealer refuses to fix anything since we bought this, says it's the battery, but battery was checked by 4 different places and is in excellent shape. This is beyond a dangerous issue and it needs fixed immediately.

When driving the screen will black out and be off for several seconds. It does not reform to what was on there before this happened. This has hairbrush at least 60 times since owning this vehicle. Took it back to dealer and they said needs new battery. Took too another dealer they said battery is just fine. This is a serious issue that Ford refuses to fix correctly.

As my wife was driving down the interstate, the car began shuddering. She pulled off, and the shuddering became very bad at about 30 MPH. The car flashed an error code which turned out to be the transmission. 2 Ford dealerships recommended a full transmission replacement for $10,800.

The vehicle automatically locks the doors when you begin driving. We were aware that when stopped the doors would automatically unlock when you tried to open them but have found that this can also happen while driving. While driving our daughter pulled on her door handle which caused the door to unlock, then pulled the handle again and was able to open the door enough to trigger the door ajar warning which alerted us to the situation. While we were able to engage the child lock to prevent this from happening again, it is concerning that pulling on the handle would cause the door to unlock when the vehicle is not in park as that can create a dangerous situation very easily.
