2017 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

The apim module is failing causing hvac, radio, phone connection, navigation to not work at all. The screen takes a lot of time to come on when starting the truck. Hoping it dosen't go out while backing up. Other vehicles have recalls on this buy not my truck.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. The contact stated that water had entered the vehicle through the dome light and leak from the door handles and instrument panel. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the front windshield was initially replaced; however, upon investigation, it was later discovered that the dome light was the source of the leak, and the dome light was replaced. The contact then stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard something fall from the vehicle then felt a rush of wind enter the cabin of the vehicle. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the rear windshield frame had detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The dealer acknowledged the failure was common and that the remedy used to repair the vehicle was insufficient. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

When driving around 50 mph my trucks begins to shake violently. I few times I had to brake hard in traffic almost causing a wreck. I do not feel safe in this truck.

In the last few weeks two of the trucks tire pressure indicators have failed on the right side of the vehicle

While responding my personal vehicle to a motor vehicle collision (volunteer first responder) my 2017 f250 lost all power at 70+ miles an hour on a highway. Power steering and power brakes were not functioning and caused a delay in service to the community. Mechanic diagnosed it as a contaminated fuel system from the problematic Bosch CP4 pump, which Ford is well aware of. They even have a “kit” to fix this issue costing well over $6,000. This is a major safety issue when all power is lost especially if towing trailers.

The steering assist malfunction message was displayed. The contact’s husband replaced the steering wheel with parts from a salvage yard however, the failure reoccurred. The contact was able to drive slowly to the nearest dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the diagnostic test confirmed that the steering sensor had failed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was driven back to the dealer where it remained pending another diagnostic test. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

At a speed of approximately 70mph, the vehicle shook violently after hitting a minor bump. There was a complete loss of steering control and the shaking lasted until the vehicle was significantly slowed. Definitely a safety hazard to my family which occupied the vehicle and every other motorist on the interstate at that time. Ford is well aware of this dangerous issue, often referred to as the “death wobble”. This truck had previously shown signs of this issue, briefly feeling unstable when driving over minor bumps and one other issue of the violent shaking about one year ago. In November 2022, a steering linkage damper was ordered to correct the issue. This part was back ordered, and finally replaced in April 2023. Clearly this was not the fix, as only 4 months later the issue is still present and possibly worsening.

took my truck for a safety recall concerning a potentially deadly defect in my 2017 F-250 Ford truck. I had purchased this vehicle from Brandon Ford new in 2017. The safety recall was to address "The Death Wobble" which causes the vehicle steering to shake violently causing the whole vehicle to lose control. I sent my truck to Brandon Ford 2 time prior stating the same problem. In 2021 they told me it was the tires, so I purchased 4 new ones. Still had the same problem occur. They told me this last time they fixed the problem. No true, my son and I whom is 11 had a day planned to goto the aquarium. On the highway the "Death Wobble" occurred again. This caused me to lose control of the vehicale stopping short of hitting the gaurd rail. My son was terrified and so was I. I drove right to Brandon Ford on a Saturday and.demanded they fix the not fixed recall "Death Wobble" item. After several days received a phone call stating I needed new tires and they where dry rotted and in horrible shape. I told them I just purchased through them 2 years prior. The proveded no answer and new I caught them in a lie. They then proceeded to look into the car problem more. I received a phone call 5 days later only to be told I was needed to pay for the complete rebuild of the steering and front end. The rods where bent from the voilent shaking due to the Death Wobble. They told me to fix the problem it was going to be over $4000. I was shocked and was told if I want the safety recall of the Death Wobble to be fixed thats what its going to cost. I felt held hostage, I filed a BBB complaint only for the dealership to take no responsibility. The problem Is not fixed since I have spent over $4000 for the repair. The steering still clicks every time I drive over bumps in the road. Took it to another repair shop and they laughed at the repairs and what I was charged. Only the tie rod was replaced by Brandon Ford, the cost of this part is only $300 dollars. The new repair shop told me it
