2017 FORD F-250 SD Complaints

While driving at highway speeds the steering and front end abruptly began vibrating violently.

Better known as the "Death Wobble." My 2017 Ford F250 truck severely wobbles after hitting a road bump when traveling 50mph. This has happened four times, including today, Sun 2/20/2022. This has not resulted in any crash or injury as of yet. After slowing down and resuming operation the wobble goes away. I have had the truck since Oct 2020.

Airbag Failed to Deploy. This is a fleet vehicle. On 02/12/2022 this vehicle was traveling 60 mph when an oncoming truck turned across in front of the driver. The vehicles collided on this vehicles front driver side and drivers side. The other vehicles airbags did deploy.

Experiencing violent shaking in steering when at speed, seems to be at 55mph and higher, that could cause loss of control of vehicle. Seems to be brought about from hitting bumps in road which activates violent shaking. Only remedy is to slow down immediately which could be impossible in some traffic situations. After research, found out this is a known problem in my year of truck, 2017 F250 Super Duty. There are no lamps or otherwise warnings that the problem is about to occur. I have not brought the vehicle in to be fixed at this time but plan on doing so shortly. This is my only vehicle and the problem seems to be getting worse since first experience.

It is known as the Death Wobble. Truck starts vibrating uncontrollably without any warning. Pulling a trailer when this happens causes a dangerous situation. Unless you have experienced it, no words can describe the violent nature of this suspension breakdown. There is no telling what other damage these episodes cause. Ford is not willing to fix this design flaw.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. The contact stated that there was fuel leaking from the fuel filter cap into the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that there was a manufacturer's defect with the secondary fuel filter cap. The secondary fuel filter and fuel filter cap were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was 44,458.

The death wobble returned for the 3 time after getting it repaired at the fire dealer 2 other time. Make a appointment to have it look at again. They can’t get me in for two weeks to look and not sure how long to repair. Unsafe to drive

The tailgate continues to open/fall down at random times. The original recall was done 2/11/2020, invoice # 727930, Gosch Auto Group, Escondido, Ca. A second repair was performed 4/22/2021, invoice # 748913, Gosch Auto Group, Escondido, Ca. Since then the tailgate randomly opens. It will open as I pull out of my driveway. On 2/5/2022 the tailgate opened and a container of liquid fertilizer fell out. A gentleman was following behind the vehicle and saw it happen.

When cold, the doors do not latch and will swing open when driving. It can be pretty alarming when kids are riding in the back. There was a recall, but Ford's fix does not work. I have been trying to resolve the issue for over 2 years now. Safety SHOULD be a priority for any organization as large as Ford.

No crank no start was told bjb relay module is bad will cost me $1400 to repair on a truck with only 25,000 miles on it Just keep leaving me stranded do to not starting had to be towed several times
