2026 Genesis G70 2.5T RWD. The navigation system is completely gone. There is absolutely no way to get the maps or even the navigation settings menu up. On every startup, you can see a part of the screen which shows it tries to load navigation, but fails every time. There are a few critical safety issues with this. To start, a main feature of the Adaptive Cruise Control is relying on GPS map data to anticipate sharp bends in the highway. If the navigation system cannot provide this layout data, the adaptive cruise control will not automatically slow down for upcoming curves, forcing the driver to intervene suddenly or risk carrying too much speed into a turn. Missing speed limits: If the navigation system fails, the car may display the wrong speed limit, or none at all, increasing the risk of accidental speeding or sudden braking when a camera finally catches a sign. Reliance on phones: If the primary infotainment screen is dead or the GPS is frozen, drivers frequently resort to handling a smartphone to find their way. Looking down at a phone screen significantly increases glances away from the road, which is a leading cause of distracted-driving accidents. Delayed Emergency Response: Connected safety services use the car’s internal GPS module to automatically broadcast the vehicle’s exact coordinates to emergency responders in the event of a severe collision or airbag deployment. If the GPS framework within the navigation system is entirely non-functional, the vehicle may fail to transmit this critical location data or provide incorrect data when every second counts. This problem has been reproduced by dealers and many other owners. The manufacturer is aware but has not provided any details. Most people who have already took it to the dealer have not received any help. This happened directly due to the most recent software update.

Vehicle has physically and forcibly moved both forward and backward, on its own, after being placed in Park and the engine turned off — including after occupants have exited the vehicle. This movement has struck the driver and two minor children on multiple separate occasions, as well as nearby curbs and objects, without physical injury. No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared before or during these incidents. Because the movement occurs after occupants have exited the vehicle, it is unknown how many additional times this may have occurred unobserved. Dealer states it was unable to duplicate this condition during a test drive. During this same visit, the right front CV axle was found to be leaking grease and had lost lubricant, and required full replacement. Both front horns were also found inoperable/defective due to internal short and were replaced. Neither of these conditions had been previously reported as faulty prior to this visit. Separately, this vehicle has experienced a steering column defect. At approximately 9,000 miles, a steering wheel squeak was reported and a dust cover was replaced. During that same earlier visit, an intermittent loss of acceleration was also reported; the dealer was unable to duplicate this concern and documented the vehicle as “operating as designed.” Weeks after that visit, a knocking noise developed in the steering column. At approximately 10,000 miles, a technician found a structural through-bolt in the steering column not torqued to manufacturer specification and corrected it. Dealer advised in writing that this defect was likely present at the time of manufacture. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized dealer on multiple occasions for these concerns. The owner has repeatedly requested, in writing, a detailed explanation of what was diagnosed, what was repaired, and the underlying cause of the movement, the axle failure, and the horn failure, and has not received a substantive written response as of this filing

This complaint concerns Manufacturer Recall 033G (NHTSA Recall 26V229000) for a fuel crossover pipe with retention fasteners that may loosen over time, creating a fuel leak and engine compartment fire risk. The vehicle has not yet received the recall remedy because the nearest authorized Genesis retailer capable of performing the repair is over 620 miles round trip. The recall filing states that Genesis will reimburse owners for out-of-pocket expenses incurred to obtain the remedy, in accordance with a reimbursement plan submitted to NHTSA on March 2, 2026. I contacted Genesis's National Consumer Affairs team and requested written pre-approval of round-trip transportation costs consistent with that filed reimbursement plan, so I could arrange transport without paying out of pocket on an uncertain after-the-fact review. Genesis responded that they are unable to provide advance approval or written authorization for any round-trip transportation, mileage, fuel, or other travel-related costs. They stated only that a one-way tow may be considered for reimbursement after the recall is completed, subject to review and approval, with no commitment on the return trip. As a result, completing this safety recall requires me to pay for transportation costs out of pocket with no guarantee of reimbursement, despite Genesis's own filed commitment to reimburse expenses incurred to obtain the remedy. This creates a practical barrier to completing a safety recall that is supposed to be free of charge, particularly for owners who do not live near an authorized retailer. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether Genesis's actual practice is consistent with the reimbursement plan it submitted for this recall.

Genesis sent out a map update. When it was updated, it stayed in the buffering. Mode, I cannot use my display. Phone does not work map, does not work. Navigation does not work. The dashboard speed limit does not work. Everything is in the buffering mode. Spoke to Genesis corporation complaint manager several times it's been over three weeks And they have no resolution to this problem. Never even sent out any type of email notice not to update the map because of the problem. They claim it's in all the models of the year, 2026. I feel the car is not safe. Speed limit on dashboard, not working safety issue, along with display, not working buffering. Cannot get to map navigation or phone

The vehicle experiences a dangerous 2-3 second 'dead pedal' delay during acceleration on hot restarts. When flooring the pedal to the floorboards, the vehicle fails to respond; it moves slowly. This was reported to Denville NJ Dealership on 8/27/26: dealer stated they test drove it could not replicate, and there were no stored codes. This was reported to Denville NJ Dealership and 4/2/26 and dealership reported they "believed" to be due to TCM communication error. This was reported by previous owner on 4/26/24 to Englewood, NJ Dealership and they could not duplicate.

But it started by my car constantly burning all like a crazy amount and then I sort of having problems with like the air conditioner, not blowing cool because if I would circulate it in the car, it would not be cool and then I started having Coach go off code for my fuel sensor code for my CO2 sensor code for all different sensors every time I take it they would be trying to give me a change sensor and charging me $2000 to do this and charging me $1500 to do that and then then I find out that there is then someone finds a pipe with my turbo that is deteriorating and now they want to change that and it just keeps my motor keeps getting hot you getting excessively hot. I mean I’m going through two or 3 quarts of all a week and my car. I have four Genesis vehicles I have two G7 I have a G 80 and I have a GV 70 and this is the only one I’m having problems with and it is the and I’m very disappointed with the situation now because I feel like it’s just they just want me to keep putting money into this and I’m and now I’m gonna and my car is only four years old. It’s been paid off since I bought it and I’ve had no problems in all of a sudden. It’s like I’m gonna be out $6000 soon and it’s just I don’t understand why what’s going on and then I see that there’s a recall that I’m not part of with my VIN number, but yet every single one of the problems that I’m having is because of that and not to mention, they have me change all the sensors and stuff that I probably didn’t even need to change so I’m very outright right now because they’re trying to charge another $2000 to do this pipe when they done all these other things and they could’ve done the pipe first I feel like they’re just trying to get money out of me to mention now if I drive my car for more than 45 minutes, the engine light comes on and it goes into lag motor just started losing power and I have to pull over and Stop and they add oil and then I can drive again absolutely insane

The contact owns a 2024 Genesis G70. The contact stated that there was condensation building up inside the headlight assembly, causing the headlight illumination to be reduced, and the turn light brightness was dull. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was determined that there was a crack in the headlight housing. The dealer claimed that the crack was caused by a crash. The contact believed that the failure was a safety defect and not damage caused by a crash. The contact stated that there was a high number of other Genesis vehicle owners who had experienced the exact same failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

On August 1, 2026, the right rear passenger door of our Genesis GV70 opened while we were traveling approximately 75 mph, approximately 25 minutes into our drive. We purchased the vehicle new on March 20, 2026. During the approximately 25 minutes of driving before the incident, we received no door-open or door-ajar warning. The warning first occurred when the door physically opened, providing no advance indication that the door might not be secure and no opportunity to stop before it opened. My daughter was seated beside the right rear door and was leaning against it when it opened. She had to grab the door and physically hold it shut. This created an immediate risk of serious injury to an occupant at highway speed. My safety complaint concerns both the door opening while the vehicle was moving and the timing of the door-warning system’s activation. I cannot determine whether the door was improperly latched before the incident, whether the latch failed during the drive, or whether a sensor or other component malfunctioned. What we observed is that no warning was provided during the preceding drive; the warning activated only when the door opened. We delivered the vehicle to the dealership on August 4, 2026. The dealership has retained it for investigation but has stated that it cannot duplicate the door incident. We have not been provided with an identified cause or a confirmed repair addressing the door opening and warning behavior. We have also reported recurring electronic problems and supplied the dealership with videos documenting those issues. I request that NHTSA investigate the door-latching mechanism and associated door-warning system, including whether an unsafe door condition can remain undetected or unreported until the door opens while driving.
