2025 GENESIS GV60- Pomona, CA
UNKNOWN On 1/16/26, I was parked in an underground parking spot. When I moved the gear shift into reverse and lifted my foot from the pedal, the car surged more than expected and the left mirror hit the cement pillar. The dealership advised me to open a claim with a manufacturer so they could review the other ongoing issues as well as the acceleration that caused the accident. A 3rd party engineer reviewed the "black box" and said there was no acceleration issues and the manufacturer is not liable. However, issues have continued until present. Today, 8/5/26, I picked up the vehicle from the service about the continuous warning light that started coming on intermittently 3 days after purchase. They were unable to find any codes from their "factory gds scan tool" The manufacturer wanted a master technician to ride with me so I could show him these issues I have been having. I drove to a road that was on a decline and stopped. I put the car in reverse and lifted my foot off the brake. The car immediately went backward and increased its speed to 7mph and then I put my foot on the brake to maintain control. I shared the information with the General Manager and the Service Manager of the dealership, yet they released the car to me. I then decided to have someone video this specific issue and when I reversed the car went to 8 mph. Despite 9 months of submitting claims and taking the car for service none of these safety concerns have been identified. They "found no dtc's as active, history or pending".

2022 GENESIS G70- Hammond , LA
2022 Genesis G70: Severe moisture inside of headlights causing DRL, blinkers, headlights, etc., to short out or completely stop working. I had them replaced once under warranty and the same thing happened again. The Genesis dealership and Genesis customer care now refuse to take responsibility bc my warranty expired. They gave me a quote of $6078.95 (labor not included)!! My vehicle has never been wrecked, and there is no front end damage whatsoever.

2019 GENESIS G90- Washington, DC
My 2019 Genesis G90 (3.3L twin-turbo) previously received Recall 019G for the left turbocharger oil feed pipe at a authorized Genesis dealership. At approximately 137,508 miles, the right side turbocharger oil feed pipe failed. I experienced an engine oil leak, a strong burning oil smell, smoke from the engine compartment, engine light on, lost of power and oil leaking onto hot engine components. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent repair facility, which determined that the right turbocharger oil feed pipe required replacement. I contacted Genesis Motor America requesting goodwill assistance because the right side pipe is the matching component to to the recalled left side, but my request was denied because the recall only applies to the left side. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the failure of the right side oil feed pipe is presenting the same safety risk.

2017 GENESIS G80- Jacksonville, FL
My 2017 Genesis G80 3.8L, VIN [XXX], has approximately 43,840 miles and intermittently slips or shifts improperly between approximately third and fifth gears while driving and causes harsh jolts forward. Jenkins Genesis confirmed the condition, stated that the transmission was slipping from the 3–5 clutch area, and recommended complete transmission replacement. The malfunction is unpredictable and creates a risk of sudden loss or interruption of propulsion while merging, crossing an intersection, changing lanes or driving at highway speed. A driver may press the accelerator but not receive the expected forward power. A [XXX] infant is regularly transported in the vehicle. The vehicle also has a faulty right-front ABS wheel-speed sensor, a passenger seat-belt safety-system communication fault, and intermittent electrical or sensor warnings. Genesis TSB 21-AT-010HG-1 applies specifically to the 2017 G80 and addresses shift flare or harsh shifting during the 2–3, 3–4 and 4–5 shifts. It requires transmission-solenoid, wiring-harness and fluid inspection procedures. TSB 19-AT-014HG also addresses harsh or delayed shifting in 2017–2018 G80 vehicles and provides electronic shift-data testing. The written repair estimate does not establish whether all applicable TSB diagnostic procedures were completed. The model also has electrical recall history, including NHTSA recalls 24V-107 and 21V-161. I am not claiming the recalls caused the transmission failure, but the concurrent transmission, ABS, seat-belt and electrical faults warrant investigation. I request that NHTSA examine similar G80 complaints involving slipping, shift flare, delayed shifting and loss of propulsion. 2026 GENESIS GV70- PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL
While driving at 35mph on a straight section of road the warning sounded, the display said "steering wheel locked" and I could not turn the steering wheel for about 5 seconds, then it returned to normal operation. We bought the car new in July 2025. I found numerous posts on line describing similar or worse experiences. The dealership performed tests and could not determine a cause.

CORRECTION TO NHTSA COMPLAINT 11754243 (8/2/2026). That complaint was submitted late at night with assistance; several fields were entered wrong and the electrical failure history was omitted. Apologies for the error. Please associate this with XXX. CORRECTIONS: Vehicles towed - YES, TWO, not "No"; my Genesis is still at the dealer it was towed to in [XXX]. Injured - THREE, not 1. Police report - YES, not "No". Mileage about 23,500. Speed at T0 per the EDR - 23 km/h, about 14 mph. OMITTED AND MATERIAL: Before this crash the vehicle STARTED ITSELF TWICE WITH NO HUMAN COMMAND - no key press, no remote start, nobody in it. Separately the entire system went completely black, causing TOTAL ECU AND ECM FAILURE. The vehicle lost electrical integrity. WHY THAT MATTERS: Genesis Service Campaign 914G is "ECM Update - P030X Misfire"; its remedy is "Update the ECM (Engine Control Module) software." It covers 2022-2023MY GV70 (JK1) built 3/29/2021-3/4/2025, VIN starting KMU. My VIN is [XXX], a 2023 GV70. Owner notice was due September 2025. The campaign was still open and unremedied when the car crashed 12/3/2025. THE EVENT: Exiting a highway at low speed with no impact, collision or obstacle of any kind, the airbags deployed spontaneously. The deployment caused loss of control and a three-vehicle collision. The deployment caused the crash. No warning lamp or symptom preceded it. FAULT HISTORY: B139500 cross coupling (SRS firing-loop interconnection fault), B1650 (airbag control unit fault history), and multiple LOW VOLTAGE codes. An electrical system that starts an engine uncommanded and blacks out an ECU can fire a restraint with no crash. EDR: The report states the EDR is part of the Air Bag Control Unit and that if ACU power is lost during an event, all or part of the data may not be recorded. Manufacturer closed its claim with no repair or explanation. Vehicle and ACU remain available; no dealer diagnostic was done on the ACU. 2023 GENESIS GV70- Spring, TX
While exiting a highway at normal speed and with no impact, collision, or obstacle of any kind, the airbags in this 2023 Genesis GV70 deployed spontaneously. The unexpected deployment caused me to lose control of the vehicle, and a three-car collision followed. I sustained a head injury and aggravation of a pre-existing traumatic brain injury; I remain under medical care. There was no crash before the deployment - the deployment caused the crash. No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms appeared before the failure. The vehicle was reported to the manufacturer, which opened a claim and later closed it without repair or explanation; a second manufacturer case review is open. I have demanded preservation of all vehicle data, including event data recorder and telematics records, and independent inspection was arranged. The vehicle and the airbag control unit remain available for inspection on request. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer, and to my knowledge no dealer diagnostic has been performed on the airbag control module.

2024 GENESIS G90- Atlanta, GA
I purchased this vehicle brand new in September 2024. Since the time of purchase, it has experienced numerous software-related issues that have affected the reliability and functionality of multiple systems. Wi-Fi Connectivity The in-vehicle Wi-Fi was inoperable for approximately 90 days (September 2024 through December 2024). The Wi-Fi issue returned in March 2026 and remains unresolved. Calendar Synchronization Calendar synchronization has never functioned properly since the vehicle was purchased and remains an ongoing issue. Navigation and Weather Services Failures with the navigation and weather systems began to cascade into other software functions, causing additional features to malfunction, including: Voice commands Delayed or unresponsive app commands Driver assistance features SOS functionality The navigation, weather, and the related issues listed above have since been resolved. However, the Wi-Fi connectivity and calendar synchronization issues continue to persist. Overall, the vehicle has experienced multiple software problems.
