Vehicle loss of power on the Interstate at a high rate of speed. Vehicle would not start and could not be put in Neutral to safely remove from road.

Was driving the vehicle at 70 mph on the highway without any issues for several hours and suddenly the vehicle lost power and had no propulsion. It went into neutral automatically and the engine shut off while driving. Thankfully I was on a downward slope and could steer the vehicle off the very busy highway. Once safe, I tried to restart the car but the engine would not start or turn over. Roadside assistance came to help as well as a flatbed tow truck. It was taken to a nearby GMC dealer but it remains completely dead despite the battery being fully charged and all of the electronics working. No known error codes are showing up. It’s an L87 engine and was part of the GM recall. The recall work was completed in Nov 2025.

Driving on I-75 with cruise control engages. Vehicle began decelerating. Pulled over onto emergency lane. Engine idled roughly. Shut down. Attempted one restart unsuccessfully.

Vehicle shifted into neutral while driving down the highway, extremely dangerous. Would not shift into gear and could not accelerate. Was able to pull over and the vehicle would not restart. Had to have the vehicle towed to a dealership. Dealership found a blown fuse, problem happened again twice and the dealer could not find the problem. This was July 28th, 2026. On August 20th, while in cruise control, slight ringing noise began, then a loud thump, then a loss of oil pressure. Unable to do anything other than pull over on an interstate with my family. Again, very dangerous. The vehicle would not restart and could not be shifted out of park. Had to have the vehicle towed again. Have also had at least 8 recalls on the vehicle. Unbelievably dangerous situations with my family, aside from inconvenient and expensive.

Sudden loss of propulsion while driving on I-75 with cruise control engaged. Vehicle began to decelerate. Pulled off onto emergency lane. Engine was idle-ing roughly. Would not increase rev when gas pedal pressed. Shut down. Tried one restart. Unsuccessful.

The engine began knocking on startup and on acceleration. The vehicle would sometimes have difficulty accelerating. Upon taking it to the dealership, they were able to duplicate the issue. Upon inspection by the dealership, 2 rod bearings had spun and caused crankshaft damage. The manufacturer approved a full engine replacement under the warranty. There were no warnings lights, messages, or any other symptoms of the problem prior to the first incident.

I purchased my vehicle from GMC on April 13th and had approximately 4,500 miles on it. It was sold as new and drove it for about a week at 4,994 miles on the highway. During this time, it shifted from drive to neutral , but the vehicle was towed back to the dealership. Upon inspection, it was diagnosed with a seized engine.

The oil recall on my truck has been completed, but the low oil light still comes on. They changed the weight of the oil stated that it didn’t fall Under the engine replacement recall. All that was done was a new oil cap and change weight of oil. Did not solve anything.

I was driving my 2025 GMC Acadia Denali on [XXX] with cruise on. Suddenly sound and banner notifications were telling me that I had no brakes. I immediately hit brake to break cruise and vehicle went faster. I managed to get cruise off from steering wheel. Put flashers on and took foot completely off gas. I was very fortunate that I didn’t hit someone or that no one hit me. After about 2 miles, I was able to pull in an empty church parking lot and get stopped. After getting stopped I was 2.4 miles from [XXX]. I was towed to GMC dealership in Montgomery, AL and diagnosed with defective master cylinder and no brakes. Very concerned because GMC has not issued a recall because the master cylinder failure has occurred many times before. Engine would tick and burn oil after the updated recall was done. There would be a hesitation occasionally when applying gas when pulling out from stop sign or stoplight. The engine stalled and would not restart. It would crank over but it was a super fast and elongated turn over. We had to call a tow truck and have it towed. The dealership said they found nothing wrong and sent us back out with it. We sent it to another dealership would replaced the auto start stop switch, changed the belts, and did a fuel/valve treatment to clean the fuel system. We got it back and ran it less than 30 days when we picked it up from the dealership after we changed the engine oil, my wife headed out of town on the highway headed to pick up our daughter and the car made it less than 6 miles before it lost power and shut off going 65 mph and almost caused her to get in a wreck. The engine did not turn back over and would not start. Sent it back to the dealership and they found a crank bearing had seized and they replaced the engine. We just got it back but we are not holding our breath since we know so many people here in our small town who have had their engines replaced and we have heard of people getting multiple engines replaced! There fix is not a fix and when these motors go down at highway or freeway speeds it is extremely dangerous. It’s also dangerous for people when they get stranded out in the middle of no where.
