2024 GMC YUKON- Royse City, TX
I am filing a complaint regarding a potential safety defect in my 2024 GMC Yukon Denali (approx. 25,000 miles), which has been in the dealership’s service department for about 30 days due to a faulty valve body in the transmission system. There is currently no estimated date for repair completion due to a lack of available parts. This is the second time the vehicle has been in the shop for the same unresolved issue. Earlier in 2025, I brought the car in due to driveability concerns and error messages appearing on the dash, but the dealership dismissed it and claimed I had “turned the vehicle on wrong,” despite it having a push-button start. The problem persisted until June 2025, when they finally diagnosed the valve body failure. This issue directly affects drivability and vehicle safety, particularly during acceleration and gear shifting. I am concerned that General Motors is aware of widespread valve body and transmission failures in these vehicles, yet continues to produce and sell new units while failing to ensure parts are available to support timely repairs. It is unacceptable that a major safety-related transmission issue can sideline a relatively new vehicle for over a month with no resolution in sight. GM’s lack of urgency in addressing this defect suggests a disregard for consumer safety and reliability. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this issue as a potential pattern of safety defects in GM’s full-size SUV transmission systems.

2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- La Prairie, IL
Pulling away from a stop sign when we were driving, and when I started to excelerate the truck it just died. We were at a busy intersection and was able to pull off the road into a parking lot and had AAA come and tow the truck and took it to Poages Auto Plaza, Quincy IL. This could have been really serious had we been on a busier road. We tried to restart the vehical and it would not start. We are going to need a loaner vehical preferrably a Truck.

2020 GMC TERRAIN- LAKE CITY, PA
I have been experiencing loss of power when going from a full stop to acceleration. I purchased my 2020 Terrain. I almost got in a car accident for the 3rd time today due to this loss of power issue. Stopped at a stop sign, I accelerate but the vehicle will barely move no matter how far down you push the peddle down. The loss of power is anywhere from 4 to 6 seconds then all of the sudden power will return. I've looked for recalls but there are none for my vin. This behavior is unpredictable and has occurred at stop signs, traffic lights, and when attempting to turn onto main roads. It has nearly caused accidents due to my inability to safely accelerate in time when merging or crossing traffic. I’ve read that GMC recalled certain 2021 and 2022 Terrain models for a fuel pump defect causing similar symptoms. My 2020 model is not currently included in that recall, yet it displays the same dangerous loss-of-power issue. I believe this is a serious safety defect that should be investigated and potentially included in the existing recall. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue further. I would also appreciate confirmation that this report has been logged. Vehicle Info: 2020 GMC Terrain VIN: [XXX] Engine: 1.5L Turbo Mileage: 62,142 Thank you for your time and your work in ensuring vehicle safety. 2022 GMC SIERRA 1500- San Antonio, TX
While driving on [XXX] from Houston to San Antonio the front Grille spontaneously flew off from my hood and hit my windshield. Grille damaged the hood but no known damage to shield. This was very frightening while on a highway because it almost caused me to crash as it triggered my PTSD from the blast and led me to swerve. Fortunately I regained vehicle control and avoided other damage to others. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2019 GMC ACADIA- POCATELLO, ID
We receive a shift to park message when we try to turn our 2019 GMC Acadia off. The vehicle is already in park, but an alarm bell keeps going off telling us it is not. The vehicle will not allow us to shut off the vehicle properly and results in battery drain and inability to lock the vehicle. We have noticed there is a class action lawsuit and recalls from previous year's models and the 2019 model manufactured in Ohio, but ours was manufactured in Tennessee. Our year, make, and model isn't listed in the class action lawsuit and/or a recall. This is very frustrating considering the number of similar issues/complaints in regards to this shift to park problem. I feel GMC as the manufacturer should be held liable for a faulty part and they have failed to correct this issue in later models since they were aware of the issue with the 2017-2018 Acadia models built in Tennessee.
